Who: New arrivals - everybody!
What: Welcome to Hadriel. Enjoy the bears.
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: October 10th-17th
Warnings: Bears, made of bear meat. Possibly bear attacks. General confusion.

You awaken on the sandy ground of the colosseum. Its half-ruined walls rise around you, stretching up to the sky - or what passes as the sky, as instead of blue sky and clouds you'll only see a rocky ceiling far above, with a bright source of light illuminating the cave.

Where are you? What are you doing here? Who are all these other people? Pressing questions, but far more pressing right now are the giant, hungry dire bears who seem to have appeared here along with you, and who are now waking up as well. And boy, do they not seem happy about it.

Once you've fought, run away, or successfully hid from the bears, you've got an entire city to explore. Sure, a lot of it is in ruins and it's totally empty, except for you, your fellow arrivals, and the bears, but there's things to be found and stuff to investigate. You can even find a house to live in if you're one of those fancy types who prefers not to sleep on the streets.

Unfortunately, one thing that can't be found at first is food. Hopefully you brought some with you or you managed to kill a bear or two, because the city is entirely empty of food until the 13th of October, when you will awaken to a gift of food on your doorsteps. Some of it might be strange-looking and alien, but hey, at least it's edible, and you didn't even have to kill anything to get it! Someone's feeling generous. After this, food and other items will be able to be found in the various stores around the city, though if you're looking for something specific, you might not have any luck.

Not long after, on the 15th, the electricity in the houses - and the rest of the restored parts of the city - will sputter to life. Hopefully you're not too near any lights or outlets when that happens, because there's a fair chance of exploding bulbs and sparks flying. At least you can turn the lights on now, though!

So now you've got food and electricity, the bears are all either dead or have fled into the caves around the city (you didn't go too far in there, right?). Things are looking up! Except for the whole 'trapped in an alien city, what the hell are we doing here' thing. But that's probably not important, right?

What are you doing?

[lloyd hardly ever bothered to spend much time in a new place without exploring if he could manage it. granted outside of the toize mine he'd never had much opportunity to explore some place completely underground, so it was taking a little bit longer than usual for his sense of direction to adjust to the setting.

forests were easy to navigate, this? was kind of a headache of lloyd was honest. which was why he'd brought noishe along with him, because if there was one thing his dog (... protozoan, whatever, lloyd still didn't totally understand that stuff anyway) was great at it was finding safe paths back home. or to the place they were calling home for now, anyway.]

Are you looking for something? [lloyd asks the younger boy, looking between him and the open webbing of caves.]

[twinpeak]

[ Wherever they are, it isn't a very densely populated place, even after a bunch of people woke up with no recollection how they arrived. Knowing that, Dipper winds up somewhat surprised that someone managed to find him this far out.

Train of thought interrupted, Dipper blinks once and turns. ]

Well—sort of, I'm just...

[ And he trails off, eyes focused at the large, green... dog(???) thing idling behind the stranger. Dipper takes an instinctive step back, finger pointed accusingly at it. ]

—Wait a sec, is that gonna hurt anybody?

[ After crazy bears, he isn't taking any chances. ]

Hm? [lloyd glances between dipper and noishe, eyebrows climbing up toward his hairline before shaking his head rather rapidly in answer to the question.] Noishe? No, no.

Noishe's kind of a big coward, honestly. [lloyd says, but the big grin he shoots the animal's direction as he says it softens the words a bit. he clearly doesn't mind noishe being that way.] He's my pet, uh. Dog?

[except lloyd doesn't sound too sure of himself there.] Uh, sort of.

[twinpeak]

Dude, that's no dog.

[ ... Normal one, anyway. When all seems safe, Dipper's attention at the caves all but disappears in favor of this new creature. Instead of backing off more, he steps forward once, then twice, sizing it up with all the blatant curiosity in the world. ]

Is it really a pet? Where'd you get him?

[fervence]

Well I mean. [lloyd rubs the back of his head and sort of. frowns at noishe thoughtfully.] I guess technically he's a Protozoan or something? But I've always thought of him as a dog, so... [a shrug. he's a dog at spirit, dipper, just deal with it.]

I got him from one of my dads. He's a really good friend. [the dog, not the dad. stuff with kratos was still a little weird of lloyd was totally honest.

noishe stares at dipper as the boy steps forward, head tipping slightly to the right before bridging the final distance between them and nosing gently at his chest with a low inviting whine. just look at this big baby, dipper. look at him.]
