How I Wish I Could Walk Through The Doors Of My Mind
Who: Prussia and Tatara (closed)
What: Paintball wars and Tatara's guilt
Where: Around Hadriel.
When: Hella backdated to 9/25 and 9/27
Warnings: TBA
[ 25th ]
Oh, God.
Tatara just stared at Brennan's body, wide-eyed and terrified. He had checked it for all the vital signs and had help to get her to the clinic, but...
This was supposed to be a game, wasn't it? This was a harmless game.
So why was someone near death right before him? From a paintball shot? Was it an allergic reaction? No, that wasn't right. This was...
God, what had he done?
After he finally leaves the clinic, he pulls out his phone and messages someone - Gilbert.
Hey, uhm... Gilbert, can I come talk to you for a minute? For real. I... I did something awful.
He hopes Gilbert will respond. This is... This never should have happened.

It takes a little bit for him to get back to Tatara. He's immediately suspicious, wondering if this was a trap to lure him out. So sure, they can talk. But there will be stipulations.]
only if you're unarmed

you better mean that. meet at my apt. in like 15 minutes
[Because he needs to get back there first and take the time to make sure this isn't a trick. but, the coast is clear and he makes it back just fine. When Tatara arrives, he peeks out the window and looks around for a few moments before unlocking the door and letting him in. Prussia is holding his paintball gun at his side. He didn't say he would be unarmed.
He is also very serious about winning this game.]
Hurry in! Before someone sees us.

And, in short order, Tatara makes himself at home on the sofa. He remembers laying on the one in the HOMRA bar, under a blanket, and napping because he was too lazy to go home. And he would sometimes get sat on for it. It was always interesting.
But then he remembers where he is and why he's here. So... where to start?]
I think I might have killed someone. [Might have?] ...No, I'm pretty sure I did... She's at the clinic now, but it's not looking good.

[Tatara is free to get cozy on the lumpy old couch. There are enough cozy blankets and pillows to build the mightiest fort if you wanted to. Even after donating a lot of them to the clinic, he kept a lot for himself after Love's first event. Prussia can be strangely lazy, and comfort is key.
Prussia closes and locks the door behind Tatara.]
You don't really seem like the type, honestly.

[Tatara's knees curl up to his chest and he folds his arms over them, sinking his head into his arms.]
I thought this was supposed to be a game. I didn't think I'd hurt anyone. But the second I shot her... with the paintball gun! [He has to quickly clarify. As if he might have been imagined with a real gun.] She just... she dropped to the ground so quick, and she was barely breathing. I... I don't know what happened, but I... I disposed of that gun immediately, and got help as quickly as I could.

...With one of these? You hit her with a paintball? Yeeeah, that's kinda what's been happening to people playing. [He's been in from the moment it started 3 days ago.] It's a little disturbing, but I think they're okay? I've hit several people so far, and they go out like a light! But, they were all still breathin'.
[See? It's all better now! Right? Prussia seems hopeful, anyway.]
no subject
[Tatara's not convinced, Prussia. Sorry.]
Have you seen any of them come back out of it?
...I mean... I still hurt someone, but if they come back out of it, that'll be a little better...
[Just a little, though.]

[Meaning he's going to have to shoot Tatara at some point if that's the case, but that hasn't dawned on him yet.]

[Isn't that at least a coma? Tatara doesn't seemed relieved about that at all.]
Well, best of luck, then.
[Still, he pushes it all behind a smile. His friend is clearly excited for this contest.]

[A breath.]
I threw the gun out. I can't keep shooting people with it. Even if it's just some weird fainting coma...

[He gives a smile.]
I can run pretty fast, so I should be alright.
[Tatara, that has never stopped you from getting hospitalised.
....Or getting killed.]
no subject
Tatara might be picking up on this.]
You might wanna find somewhere to hole up if ya don't want to be in a coma soon.
no subject
He'd rather talk his way out of it, if the time came.
Still, he'll take that as his invitation to leave. It sounds more like Prussia's giving him the opportunity to run before he changes his mind than being given actual advice.]
You're right, I probably should.
[He gets up from the sofa and smiles at Prussia before he reaches the door, resting his hand on the handle.]
Thank you, for listening to me, Gilbert. I appreciate you being there.
[And with that, he opens the door to head out. Though, that doesn't mean he'll heed Prussia's advice about hiding until the end of the event.]

[As soon as Tatara turns to leave, Prussia levels the gun on him. But he doesn't like the idea of shooting him in the back.]
Hey--
[When Tatara turns around, he will unsurprisingly find Prussia standing with his gun aimed at him. He smiles wryly to himself.]
Hmm. I must be getting soft in my old age or somethin'.
[And with that, he pulls the trigger.]
no subject
And yet, Tatara only smiles, warmly and honestly. It's fine, it's fine. Everything will work out.
He doesn't even try to dodge. In fact, he accepts this, for having shot someone else.
And when the paintball hits him, he of course falls back, collapsing to the ground, knowing how it will go. And as he lies on the floor, he's no longer moving and he's even barely breathing. All that's left to do is to wait for when he gets to wake up again.]
