When No Virtues Are Left To Defend, You Fall In Deep
Who: Yukari and OTA!
What: Yukari actually dreams, holy shit.
Where: Dreamland/Yukari's head
When: Second half of the Dreamwalker Event
Warnings: Abuse, mild torture (Fear dream); Violence, death, gore (Love dream); will update as needed.
[ A. Fear (CW: Abuse and mild torture) - Somewhere in time I will find you and haunt you again. ]
The fog is rolling in as Yukari treads down a path between the housing. He looks bored and restless, idly wandering around to find something, anything, to do. The fog continues to thicken with each step, and Yukari is beginning to wonder - did the Silent Hill Zone get released again? And, for the moment, Yukari is amused by the prospect of combatting with another of those fog-hidden beasts.
But it isn't until Yukari sees a tall silhouette in the fog that his eyes widen, that he hesitates and even takes a few steps back. A man emerges from the fog, none that anyone else would recognize. But for Yukari, he knows it too well. The man looks the epitome of calm, cool, and collected as he smiles at Yukari. But how could this person be here before him?
"It's been almost thirteen years." Despite the smirk on his face, his voice trembles slightly. "Takehiko."
For anyone that has heard Yukari speak, they know that going without a suffix for him almost unheard of, typically using -chan. There's only one other person he goes without suffix for.
Still, his demeanour doesn't stop him from drawing his blade, poising only briefly, before charging at the other man. But his footing is off, he's distracted; something is clearly wrong. And the other man slashes out a sword of his own and parries off Yukari perfectly. Every blow is matched and deflected. And then the man counter attacks, causing Yukari to pace backwards as he defends against the strikes.
For someone who's normally so talented in combat, Yukari is looking remarkably frantic.
His footing fails, and he falls onto the ground flat on his back and the other man's sword strikes into the ground, beside Yukari's head. And before Yukari can roll back up the other man leans over him.
"It has been a long time, hasn't it?" The man's voice is calm and smooth, yet a hint of something colder lies beneath it for those with a careful ear. "You didn't think I would let you go forever, did you?"
Yukari scowls, though it's faltering to give glimpses of the panic within.
"Hopefully you enjoyed yourself." While it lasted.
Yukari tries to bring his leg up, kick the other man back as hard as he can, but Takehiko is faster and lifts the sword up, stabbing it into Yukari's shoulder, just under his clavicle. Yukari grits his teeth against the pain, trying to move to get Takehiko off of him, but the other man only twists the sword further and Yukari has to fight not to yell.
"Get off of me," he hisses through his teeth. "This isn't beautiful at all."
"Oh? What's the matter? I thought you looked quite like a butterfly pinned into place."
[ B. Tranquility - I'm walking where my dreams have been. But, what are dreams? ]
Spas are Yukari's spoilage of choice. And he's getting the full deal today. Exfoliation mask, manicure, pedicure, hair treatment, and massage. Dozens of people will wait on you all at once, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres at your beck and call. Even the aesthetic scenery is appealing - decked with foliage, rare flowers, the cushiest of seatings and beds as they pamper you. And the towels and bath robes are softer than new, fluffy fur on a baby bunny rabbit. Being pampered is one of the best luxuries, and today it doesn't cost a thing.
At least when Yukari dreams, he dreams big. After all, when one is pampered, they only deserve the absolute and very best.
As you enter in, you may find yourself even carried on the most intricate of silk pillows to your choice of treatments. If you decline, they insist on letting them tend to your every whim. There is no demand that you can make that they can deny. It's as if they live to spoil you. So, please let them.
Yukari will look at you, giving a smirk, but don't mind him. He's in no mood to start a fight, or even troll today. He's just here to enjoy, much like you surely must be.
"Well, don't you think it's beautiful?"
Of course, he means all of it. Look, Yukari's a spoiled Princess by nature and he doesn't care. Either join him, or get snarked at. Yukari's in just a docile enough mood that he'll even make conversation with you.
[ C. Love (CW for Violence, death, gore) - I watch the city burn; These dreams, like ashes, float away. ]
The land around him is blazing in flames, and Yukari's hair flutters from the heat eminating from the Chaos around him. This. How long had it been since he felt this? It's wonderful, intoxicating, illuminating. There is nothing more beautiful than pure Chaos. The destroyed buildings, as they begin to collapse through the flames jaws, add a particular level of repose to the entire scene.
Yes, this is beautiful. This is what he's longed for.
A group of ninjas, clad in black with rabbit masks appear around Yukari as if from nowhere.
Ah, yes, the Rabbits. He knew they would come for him. After all, destruction must be controlled. But Yukari has done this before. The Rabbits are good, but he is always better. And he is always flashy about it. Yukari is quick, as he dances around the attacks the Rabbit's try to throw at him, quickly performing their jutsu movements. But Yukari's blade crackles with a Green Electricity and he slices down three at once. Taking care of them in small groups, drawing it out as a cat does when it plays with a mouse. None of the Rabbits manage to lay a single blow on him.
When the last one falls to the ground, he finally turns to you. His pace is calm and he twirls his sword flambouyantly. But there's something demonic that rests behind his eyes - a desire to see blood flow, and he wants a beautiful, worthwhile battle to go with it. The question is if you will be a worthy opponent, or if you will fall like the Rabbits behind him. Don't hold back, because he surely won't.
With a blink, he charges at you, swinging his sword with a fierce and intense level of grace.

Tranquility
so she's had her hair washed, conditioned, and styled, she's had a seaweed wrap (frankly, she wasn't sure what that was for, but they insisted and her skin does feel better now), she's had whiskey and fine food, both entrees and desserts, brought to her to indulge in, she's had a full body and foot massage, and she's lying there, wrapped in her robe, hair perfect. if she were a cat, she'd be purring by now.
she notices her company and smiles at him. he must be here for the same thing she is and he looks thoroughly pampered, too]
Beautiful's not a strong enough word. I don't think there is one.
no subject
Well, I must agree with you on that. Still, perhaps delightfully indulgent and enticing are more appropriate.
[Yukari sips on a delightful Paradise Cocktail as the manicurist tends to his other hand.]
The deities should indulge us more often like this. I certainly wouldn't complain. I think the last time I had any proper pampering was back in my homeworld. Though, I'm certainly not against any of the Chaos, either. Just something to have to unwind at the end of the day like this would certainly be enough to appease me.
[Or at the end of any of the deities shenanigan-events, really. Yukari's not terribly picky about that.]
If you haven't tried the fizzy facial scrub, I personally recommend it, myself. It's a wonderful sensation~

Laura's having a plain old fashioned while her shoulders are being massaged. she sucks the cherry off of its stem, chews, and swallows]
Definitely. They can do this to me any day of the week. Some of the chaos is a little chaotic for my taste, at least so far. I've only been here a few days. And if there's a god of luxury, we should bring that request for something like this to them. It would be good for their business.
[Laura's not sure what she thinks of the gods so far. on the one hand, they resurrected her which is a plus. on the other hand, there's the whole feeding on her emotions thing. so she's reserving judgement until she sees more from them]
Oh? I'll have to give it a try. [she signals one of her attendants to prepare it for her]
no subject
You must look at it from their perspective. They may cause Chaos and feed off of us, but is it not beautiful to them? They get to provide to us, and ensure life, emotion, and safety. They do make larger sacrifices to our favour, which in turn makes it easier for them to receive their blessing and be less taxing on the both of us. We may have to suffer the Chaos for now, but in the end, just like any other form, it is undoubtedly beautiful.
[Look, he supports the deities almost 100%, if only he could convince Sorrow to break the Door so they could all stay there permanently instead of forcibly being returned to their homeworlds on a whim.]
After all, what use is a truly peaceful form of life? Is harmony truly that beautiful? Even in all the light, a Chaotic shadow will persist.
no subject
I guess I hadn't thought about it that way. Most other people I've talked to weren't too happy about being used for their emotions. But I've been used for plenty of worse things before.
[Laura has nowhere else to go since she was murdered before coming here, so she's going to have to get used to the gods and their proclivities since she's going to be here for a long time]
Nothing but peace sounds like it would get boring. You need some excitement--or chaos--to spice things up now and then.
no subject
[Yukari can't help but smirk at her agreement on the necessity of Chaos.]
Precisely. My former King sought only harmony, and chose the path that would lead most to that harmony. No doubt he saw Chaos in those paths, but being harmonious was always his true dream and chose the paths with the least Chaos. And yet...
[A pause as he thinks back on something, recalling the very day of the memory.]
And yet, he still always knew what kind of Chaos I would bring him. How interesting that he would choose that in the contradiction to his peace, isn't it?
no subject
[the mention of a king gets a curious look] You had a king? So, where are you from, mister?
Maybe because he knew, he felt comfortable with it. And you. Like they always say, better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
no subject
[Yukari chuckles at the mister line.]
Yukari-chan is fine. But yes, I served two Kings in Japan. Though my Japan varies from many of the other Japan-drifters, here. In my world, we have a power source called the Dresden Slates, and they choose Kings, giving them special abilities to change the present for another future. The Colourless King, my first King, had the clairvoyant ability. He could see all paths and what choices would lead others where.
My second King had the ability to create change, and had a dream he desired to act upon. He wanted to use the Slates to give powers to everyone, instead of the few, and create a Chaotic, egalitarian society through it.
no subject
All right, Yukari-chan. I'm Laura. [she listens to the explanation] Yeah, that is totally not like the Japan in my world. In my world, Japan exists and makes cheap cars. I wouldn't mind being clairvoyant, if it meant I'd know what would keep me outta trouble. Or only into the trouble I want to be in.
Yeah? Was he able to do it?

Fear
Curufin yanks the sword out of the man's body and shoves him off his dear friend, with a forceful heavy-treaded boot.
"Yukari!" he calls in a low voice, tensely, kneeling beside him.
no subject
And when Yukari hears Curufin's voice, it's a bit of relief, if only a little. But the tone is concerning. Yukari's hand grips the blade of the sword in his shoulder tightly, swiftly pulling it out and letting the sword fall to the side of himself. He sits himself upright, neverminding the blood that now drips from his shoulder. He looks first at Curufin, then at Takehiko. He's trying not to show it, but he's trembling. A concerned frown crosses his face.
This is Hadriel. The Gods can bring him back again. And he doesn't want that. How long will Takehiko get to torment him this time? Honestly, he'd feared the day that Takehiko might ever find him again since his relationship with Curufin became more serious by the day. While it lasted. Is his peaceful life now over, all because Takehiko showed up?
no subject
He swiftly removes his cloak, wraps Yukari in it, gathers him up in his arms, and stands up. "We're going to the Clinic, right now. It's not far. You hang on, you're going to be all right."
no subject
"I'm fine, Curufin. I'm not paralysed. I can at least walk."
But something in the fog shifts - it's thicker, colder. Then it suddenly dissipates. And Takehiko moves, moving into a kneel as he picks up his sword from the ground.
"Ah, well, isn't this world interesting? It appears I can be resurrected." His voice is smiling, but there's no warmth behind it. Yukari's breath freezes. "Pardon me, but I believe you have something of mine and I would like you to return it."
And he's every bit as swift on that notion. He charges at Curufin, slashing out at the Elf's middle. Yukari tries to break from Curufin with a sense of urgency. He's got to defend him!
no subject
And then a movement in the corner of his eye catches his attention. "Fucking phantom!" murmurs Curufin, dodging the slash with alacrity, even with Yukari in his arms. "You don't own Yukari and you can't have him!"
To make things more complicated, Yukari wants to fight. And Curufin doesn't have a spare hand to shove him down on the grass where he'll be safe. He gives him a look that clearly says, Let me handle this! And then he whips his sword out of its sheath. He springs forward, blade whirling. He means to take Takehiko's head off.
cw: mentions of sexual assault
"I see, I see. You must want something off of the deal. Well, that could be easily managed enough. I'm a reasonable man."
He studies Curufin over, never growing weary in the battle.
"Let me see, you don't seem the type to yearn for riches. Power perhaps? Hmm~ That would make sense. An age where you were frivolous perhaps. And my Yukari-chan is rather adorable when he's pinned down. I can't say I blame you at all."
That's it, Yukari's had enough. He breaks from Curufin's cloak and charges at Takehiko in a flash, aiming to slice him through. And Takehiko responds, sweeping under Curufin's next stroke, and striking Yukari hard enough to cause him to drop Ayamachi. Yukari's eyes widen and then fall half-lidded as he collapses. Takehiko holds out his free arm to catch him and pulls him close. The blood dripping from Yukari's arm starts staining the white of Takehiko's suit pretty quickly, and Yukari is giving quick, shallow breaths.
"Ahh, I wasn't supposed to hit that vein straight on. It appears I was careless." He doesn't really sound all that concerned, though. He smiles over at Curufin. "I do suggest you not try anything further. He got hurt this way because you both resisted. I believe I don't have to tell you if it remains unattended to what will happen. Or do you really think you can defeat me in time to save him?"
no subject
"You can keep your riches and your power, or better yet, shove them up your ass!"
And then to his horror, Yukari gets loose, attacks the phantom and is hit. And then captured.
Curufin is perfectly clear about his responsibility, here. He would rather die then let this disgusting man have control of Yukari again -- even if he is a ghost in Yukari's dream. (He suspects this to be a dream, simply because he has fallen into a few others tonight, and they certainly weren't Curufin's.)
But now Takehiko has only one arm to fight with, since to keep Yukari he must physically keep hold of him. And that gives Curufin an opening.
He whips around Takehiko's unguarded side as swiftly as though he himself were a phantom, so light on his feet is he, and he stabs at the man's vulnerable shoulder. If this is a hit, Curufin's blade will slide into a lung. . . or into this man's cold heart. At the least, it might sever his spine or some important spinal nerves.
no subject
"Allow me to make myself perfectly clear: Harm will continue to befall him if you continue to fight me. Or do you simply not care?"
Takehiko moves Yukari to the front of him, as though a shield.
"Strike him, then. Destroy him and take his life. Or will you yield?I have no intention of allowing your next strike to miss."
A very clear stance of if I can't have him, no one can. And he sounds every bit as serious about it.
(no subject)
tranquility pls
"I never thought I would ever miss this..."
He the, lets out a long relaxed sigh as he allows one of these overly attentive individuals to take his hand and start working on his nails.
no subject
He gives Atem a once-over.
"Of course, judging by your appearance, I suppose I wouldn't need to say such a thing. You're clearly regarded with high standard. A King in your world, perhaps?"
Yukari's actually genuinely curious. A young face, yet his attire suggests that Atem is more like a King from the history books of his world than the Kings that are selected by the Dresden Slate back in his homeworld.
no subject
How weird is it to talk about this all under these circumstances. Not that he cares in the slightest.
"And you? Do you do this often?"
no subject
"I suppose I wouldn't call it often for as long as I have been in this world, though I do pamper myself at home regardless. A regimen is very important, after all. But in my homeworld, yes. I would tend to one of these at least once a week if I could find the time away from my King."
Which wasn't hard, to be perfectly honest. Nagare was remarkably easy to please and as long as the plan wasn't in motion, the demands were few.
no subject
He teases some, maybe not so inclined to babble about useless things, more than useless, past things. His time has passed. But he listens to the apparently older man and his curiosity may have been piqued.
"Where do you come from?"
no subject
But he'll leave it at that. The subject change isn't so bad.
"I come from Japan, though there seem to be many variances of that world, as well. In mine, we have all manner of Kings and special abilities caused by the Dresden Slate. There was a glorious war to bring my King's world to light - my King wished to enable the entire world to hold the Slate's abilities, instead of just the Kings and their vassals. It was a Chaotic dream of equality amongst all. However..." Yukari smiles at Atem, readjusting himself in his seat to lean on his own elbow, propping his chin in his hand. "That dream was beginning to fail when I was pulled to this world."
no subject
"Glorious war..." He muses a little about the wording, Atem is not so jaded, he's seen his type before. "You're a warrior." It's is not a question.
no subject
"A mercenary." Yukari playfully corrects. "I had the freedom to act on my own so long as it wasn't against my King's wishes. And I had taken down entire armies of the strongest vassals all on my own." The Rabbits. Servants of the Gold King. "My strength was second only to the Kings'. Not that I minded. You can do and see some interesting things by being second in command."
