There are three main scenarios this log was made to be used for:

1. Bothering Michael at the clinic (aka just casual CR stuff)

2. Debriefing conversations after the dreamshare event

3. Michael tells his close CR/involved parties that he killed a dude

A bit. I appreciate any decisions not to pry, but I can't pretend you don't know things that most of this cave's population doesn't. If it becomes important...I won't hide anything.

[He knows he shouldn't, and he normally wouldn't, but he knows Law well enough by now (and honestly, Law probably knows more than he'd like about Michael too) that he thinks he can get away with it.]

Uh, just- what happened after? I mean, obviously you got away, but did somebody take care of that guy, or did he get away too?

Oh no, he got taken down. Hard. He's in prison, now, he lost everything - his kingship, his warlord status, his crew, all of it. [and that thought brings a slight smirk to his lips for just a moment before it fades] I very nearly killed him, but he survived the blow. Someone else working with me did the hard part.

They say trials are decided before the prisoner even appears in front of the judge. But then, his crimes aren't exactly the kind anyone can overlook, not even a corrupt government. [shaking his head] Not that I want to get into a political discussion. I'm a pirate, not a revolutionary.

Right. Well, glad he's getting his just desserts. And uh, I think that was all I wanted to know.

Law remembers him asking about his motives while in the dream, and can't help but wonder.]

You have something of a sense of justice, do you? It matters to you.

[That... is a good question. Does it matter to him, or does it just matter to you-know-what? He guesses he does prefer when bad people get what's coming to them- just... not usually in the gruesome ways the Visitor likes.]

I guess so. I think it's fucked up when people get away with things like that. [Whoops.] The people they hurt deserve better.

That remains to be seen, I guess.

[no sense in prattling on about who in particular has a burning need for justice like that. Or a malleable one. Or, once he learns about the Visitor, an extra layer of gray area. Could be a pirate, could be a Marine. Who knows? It's not important. Right now, they're just clearing the air, and Law is satisfied with what he can figure out of Michael.]

Oh? No, I didn't mean that, but good to know. Most people just consider it a novelty. It's fine, whatever. [Atem's the only one who ever took it seriously but Atem is pretty special.]

What happened, what we saw, doesn't affect working together. If anything, you seem like the kind of guy I can trust. [yay?]

I don't know about a novelty, but, yeah.

[Michael's gonna go with a "don't ask, don't tell" on that one. Piracy has the potential to be pretty serious shit, even if he didn't take it that seriously at first.

Oh, but he kind of feels bad about the trust thing. Law doesn't know the whole story, despite what he saw. Would he still trust him if he did? He feels like he's lying, but he's also not about to out himself.]

Uh, thanks? [Wow he is not good at this.] You seem pretty trustworthy, too. [Said the murderer to the pirate.]

Don't let it go to your head. [that was definitely a tease, given the smirk. Hey Michael, want some coffee? Law decides to go for another cup, since you know, never know when the coffee cart is going to disappear and life is going to start sucking hard.]

The teasing makes Michael feel a bit better. Like he's in on something instead of being messed with.
