[CLOSED] You Found Him?!
Who: Any Adventure Zone cast members to pop by the Horny House!
What: A confused but elated Barry Bluejeans comes home to hang.
Where: House 5-1, aka The Cinco (Seis?) Horny House.
When: Backdated to Nov. 10th.
Warnings: Prior injuries and probably a couple swears. Will update as needed.
[The trek from the arena to the house is made long and slow by the litany of burn wounds up Barry’s side. By the time Lup has guided him through half the cavernous city, past spires and over the river, she’s filled him in on the details of their situation. The caves, the tunnels, the Door, the Gods pulling the strings - or, at least, trying to. Landmarks are pointed out, phones are tinkered with, stories are told. Kisses are shared.
As it comes into view, the house looks… almost normal compared to the strange spires and rounded architecture littering the city. Like it was flung out of a dimension close to their own and just dropped on its head. Barry chuckles a little. It doesn’t surprise him in the slightest that they’d made this house in particular their home.
Lup is quick to slam the front door open and start yelling for folks to come to the entryway, and Barry hangs back the way he tends to do, looking a little worse for wear. His glasses are broken, left lens made useless by a spiderweb of cracks, there are the expected scrapes and bruises, and his clothing is all scorched and torn. But as soon as the first person comes into view, he’s beaming.]
Good t’see ya, bud.

who ordered the sap
But Lup of right now alternates between pressing carefully up against Barry's unwounded side and disappearing up the stairs for short periods of time before returning to easily slip back into conversation. She waits patiently for Merle's careful examination, for Angus' cute line of questioning, for Taako's familiar teasing. But once everyone has gotten a chance to pat the man (gently) on the shoulder and catch up, the elf finally slips her hand into his and guides him up the stairs. Kravitz is here conversing with Taako, so her brother probably won't notice if the pair slip off into the twin's room for a few minutes.
The twins share the second floor with Angus, who has the bedroom right next to theirs. Lup nudges the door to her room open and drags Barry inside, kicking the door closed behind him. And honestly, if Barry knew how messy Lup could get on her own, he should know all too well what to expect from a room that held both twins. Somehow, between the piles of clothes and accessories and random shiny objects piled on the floor, the room still gave off that perfect vibrant aesthetic that fit their personalities perfectly. They each have a twin bed on either side of the room, which were both suspended in air by only magic, each with a magic rope ladder to scurry up to reach them. There's also a cute poster on their closet door, something to remember a past event with.
It's only been a few months, but the twins have certainly transformed their space into something sacred and special. Which just goes to show how privileged Barry is for being invited in.
Once their alone, Lup carefully loops her arms around his neck, mindful of his burns, and presses her forehead into his shoulder. Just enjoying the familiar feel of his body pressed against hers, the smell of him that she's spent too long missing under her nose. It's just been too damn long.]
Doin' good? Not feeling too worn out by the welcoming committee, are you?
that'd be me, sap with a side of schmoopy nerd please
He’s smiling, though. He wraps his good arm around Lup’s frame, and he smiles, deflating a little against her with a deep, long sigh.]
Nah, I’m good. More than good. [He breathes her in, slow and deliberate, her scent both new and familiar. It’s instantly enough to calm his nerves.] Lup, I... I’m so happy, Lup. I know I already cried your ears off about it back there, but... [His good hand slips up to card through Lup’s hair, fingers brushing past a long, jeweled ear.]
I went so long thinkin’ we’d never make it. I thought we’d never get to be a-- a family again. Seein’ everybody here, together, rememberin’, I...
[A shaky chuckle.] Y’already heard all this. I’m sorry. [Barry kisses her cheek, pulling back enough to grin at her.] And you? Doin’ good?

The man smiles and leans into her, Lup more than prepared to take his weight, one of her hands slipping upwards to curl fondly into his hair. Touch is still such a new experience to her after being out of a body for so many years, but everything about this closeness is as familiar as breathing. He's reaching up to run a hand through her hair, fingertips brushing along her ear and leaving the woman giggling at the sensation.
Everything is a little extra sensitive to her right now. So no tickling allowed.]
Hun, you can say it as many times as you like. [It doesn't change the fact that it's real. They may be missing two of their numbers, but everyone else is here and alive and whole and happy. Hadriel may majorly suck, but it's a brief haven away from the Hunger, somewhere that their small family can piece itself back together after so long apart.] We're all here and none of us are going anywhere. [Barry pulls away just enough to look her in the face, Lup's hand slipping forward to cup his cheek.] Same goes for you, y'know. You're stuck with me. For the rest of both of your lives.
[Now that they aren't just standing around in tears surrounded by dead dinos, Lup can take the moment to trace the familiar lines of his face with her gaze, to take in the happiness just shining through in Barry's expression. It means everything to her.] Yeah, I'm chill.
[He's already laid out all the sap, Lup doesn't need to repeat it, even if it's so obvious by the tenderness of her expression.]
We still gotta set up your new digs, but if you wanna get a nap in, I got you covered.
no subject
What, we're not sharin' digs? [It's said teasingly, a smirk pulling at his lips. A small, selfish part of him had hoped to share a room with Lup until the heat death of the universe, but he gets why that's not happening right away. Even on the Starblaster, Lup never fully moved out of her shared quarters with Taako even after decades of being with Barry and sharing his bed. Having been apart from her brother, her other half for so long leading up to this, separated by more than just time and space, Barry isn't going to push it. He completely understands. He would never want his arrival to upset the balance.
He's going to tease though. It's not like she won't come to crash in his room from time to time. His hands settle on her hips and squeeze fondly, pulling her closer.] Came all this way just t'lose ya again. What'd I do t'deserve th'doghouse this time? It's cruel, Lup, just cruel.
[He drops the act long enough to lean in and kiss her, quick and sweet, his voice softening.] I'm good. Think I'm too excited t'get any sleep.

Barry knows that Taako's importance in Lup's life doesn't at all diminish his own. There's no sliding scale limited by a certain amount of love that needs to be spread out throughout all of the people in her life. She loves Barry, more than she ever thought she could possibly love another person, but Taako is so much a part of her that simply saying she loves him doesn't cut it. They're a part of one another. Not two halves of the same whole, Taako could never be anything less than a full whole himself, but two people revolving around a singular point. Like a sun and moon circling planet, both so very different but just equally as important to one another's orbit.
And it's a true mark of how much she loves the man in front of her that Lup offers even the slightest explanation. For anyone else, she'd leave it at that. But Barry's always been infuriatingly easy to talk to, something that's just grown and grown the longer they've been together.]
Taako needs me right now. [It's been a long time, but she remembers their conversation after the fight they'd had when Lucretia had appeared. His voice had sounded so fearful. 'Are you moving out'?
She's not ready to leave him yet. Not while he's still plagued with those night terrors.] And I need him a little too.
But don't think you're free, hun, cause I'm coming for your closet space. [And when he slips in to kiss her, she grins against his lips, happy to keep him close.] And there's literally nothing in this place that's gonna keep me from your bed.
[One of her hands slips down to grab at his ass.] Gotta get me a piece of this fine man.

[Of course, he can't ever really know. He has an idea of what the twins have been through, sure. There's no one in his life he's ever treasured like this, no one he's ever cherished the way he does Lup. She’d seen him, really seen him in a way no one else ever had before, different from any casual fling or half-hearted fizzling courtship. She’d seen something in him worth loving, worth saving, and she’d done both. This incredible woman, this blazing, brilliant person who had lost so much and fought so hard for everything she's ever gotten to call her own, let him in without reservation, without judgment or criteria. Let herself be vulnerable with an outsider. Let herself love and be loved. Not a day goes by where Barry doesn't recognize that, where he isn’t shaken by her devotion.
But all of that doesn't even compare to the twins’ bond, and he’s always known that. His loss doesn’t come close to the loss the twins had suffered when they’d been forced apart. He can't ever claim to understand that kind of pain. He won't pretend to. All he can do is trust that they take care of each other the way only they can. He loves them both too much to ever demand anything else.] I know, Lup. I gotcha.
[Lup, ever the master of easing tension and lightening the mood, slips her hand around his waist to squeeze at his ass, and Barry makes a sound halfway between a gasp and a chuckle, a little louder than he'd intended. Even after decades, he's predictably flustered. That feels really good, okay? Better than he remembered.]
Well, for that, I'm definitely gonna need some sleep first. [Barry is all red, no surprise, but his smirk broadens into a playful grin. His hands find Lup’s hips, squeezing innocently, pulling her closer.] Wouldn't wanna wear out too quick our first time back at it, huh? I remember how long y’can go for.

She just loves this man so much and even sixty-five years later, the feeling is so completely overwhelming at times. She'd never forgotten him while she'd been trapped, had never forgotten even for a moment what he meant to her, but it's so different to go from fighting off loneliness with only those memories to being back in his arms again. Now that they're reunited, she just doesn't know how she'd ever made it for so long without him.
Barry teases her with a tone as casually confident as ever despite his flush, and Lup huffs a quiet laugh, not bothering to unfurl from where she's wrapped up against him. Give her another minute or two. She just needs his closeness.
She hadn't realize how starved for sensation her lich form had been until now, until she finally had someone to hold her again.]
Good, we'll pick back up on it when you've had a big ol' nap. [And then they can really talk. Lup doesn't say it aloud, but god, she just wants to talk to him.]
no subject
But right now, Lup is the one in need. Barry is more than happy to oblige. He’s missed every single thing about being with her, and providing comfort is no exception.]
Wanna lay down for a while? [His voice is soft, breath warm in her hair, hands squeezing gently at her waist. Sometimes all he’d want to do was lay still and just listen to Lup’s heart beating, especially after a long cycle without her. Just feeling her there would be enough to calm him.] We can just... lay there. Hold each other. Don’t have t’talk or do anything. They won’t miss us out there.
no subject
[There's a brief pause, Lup pressing a quick kiss to her love's neck, before adding,] But I'd like that.
[Lup lets the comfort of Barry's embrace fill her with the strength she needs to finally pull away, a hand slipping down the length of his arm to twine their fingers together. Even if she's just bursting to talk, a quiet moment together sounds like a gift after their long, eventful day. Not only is she adjusting to having him back at her side, but Lup's still working out having her corporeal body back as well. It's a lot to take in.
Her bed is a little slim, Lucretia and her had fit fairly comfortably while the other woman had stayed with her, but Barry's a bit bigger so they'll just have to squish a little closer. Which Lup is so down with. She squeezes his hand before scurrying up the rope ladder, curling her long legs to her chest while she waits for him to follow.]
no subject
He'll have to ask about that poster at some point. There's probably a story there.
The rope ladder gets a wary look before Barry dares to start climbing it, slowly and carefully. He cringes a little as the ropes creak and complain under his weight. This all seems very unsafe. But he makes it up and maneuvers around Lup the best he can, settling against the pillows and opening his arms, beckoning Lup to come rest against him.]
You good?
no subject
Lup just grins while Barry climbs up to join her. The rope ladder may not be the safest of methods to ascend, but the bed itself doesn't move in the slightest beneath their combined weight, the twin's magic secure enough to keep them suspended through just about anything. The elf barely waits for Barry to get settled before she's wiggling up against him, half at his side and half on top of him, her head fitting perfectly against the space beneath his chin. Just being able to feel his heartbeat seems to settle some of the lingering nervousness within her, so that when she sighs against him, it comes out sounding more happy than anything else.
This is just what she needed.]
So good. You? Merle worked his magic on your burns?
no subject
Well, magic. [He glances down at his arm, covered in bandages under his shirt and smelling like cool herbal salves. Medicine is it's own kinda magic, huh. He'd certainly prefer a proper heal over this, but he's grateful of the dwarf treating him so quickly. At least he knows his wounds will heal properly, and with expert supervision.]
Yeah, he fixed me up. I'll be fine. [Especially now.] Now I'm just kinda tired, y'know. Tired an' happy.
no subject
You'll be fine in a few days. Merle's patched up worse without magic. Sure would be nice if Pan could throw down on these liches and get us a few heals in here, but we've managed so far.
[Which is pretty strange to think. Four months in this place and no one's been very severely injured, huh? That has to be a first for their group. Hopefully Barry's accidental burns would be the worst of it.]
Rest up, babe. [Lup presses a quick kiss against his collarbone, nestling closer. She won't sleep, but she can curl up and find the comfort she needs in her partner's presence.] I'll be here.
no subject
[The warmth of Lup's lips to his skin instantly washes away all the pain and exhaustion weighing on him, and Barry just smiles, tightening his grip on the woman in his arms. The love of his life. Something as simple as a kiss, the sound of her laughter, the weight of her body on top of his own is enough to make him sink into the mattress, heavy with contentment and bliss.
He's missed this. Even though it's been a dozen years since the last time they'd laid like this, the motions come right back to him, as easily as breathing. When he thinks back on all the nights he'd fallen asleep all alone over the past decade, he has no idea how he'd managed. How had he ever been able to rest without her, without his heart feeling this full? This, right here, right now, is the way things are supposed to be.
Barry chuckles softly into her hair, gently squeezing her arm, thumb stroking soft skin.] I've really missed you callin' me that.
no subject
There's so much more that needs to be talked through, so much of his life to catch up on, so many years to make up for, but for now, Lup's content to just cuddle in the same bed and relax together. Being in Hadriel isn't quite as different as it had been from being stuck in the cycles. They have all of the time in the world here too, there's just a little less pressure on saving the whole universe here.
She slips a hand upwards to tickle his neck before running through his hair, just delighting in how solidly real and alive he was beneath her. Her voice mumbles against his collarbone, softer than usual,] Missed having someone to say it too. [she'd missed having anyone to say anything at all to, really]
This feels too good to be true.
no subject
[Somehow, the thought that he'd ever get to be with Lup again had felt so foreign to him. Finding her body and giving her a proper burial had been the only thing keeping him going at that point. He'd been searching for closure, not for her, for so many years. In scouting around and working on his body pod, he'd gotten to know prominent necromancers and dark mages all over Faerûn, and none of them had heard even whispers about a fiery evocation-school lich with her sanity intact. Lup was never one for subtlety, never one for hiding. She would have made her presence known.
So if even her lich form had been gone for over a decade, there wasn't ever a chance for a reunion.
But then she'd just been there. Right in front of him. As beautiful and powerful as the day they'd met. And yeah, maybe Barry didn't have the most healthy of coping mechanisms, maybe he hadn't handled seeing her again as well as he'd dreamed he would. But that doesn't matter. She's right here now, tickling his neck, playing with his hair, mumbling into his chest, her breath so warm, her voice so real.]
It is true, though. [He moves his hand to her chin, tipping her head up so he can look at her, take in every line of her face, every freckle dusted over her cheeks.] I'm never leavin' you again. Never. That's a promise.
[He has to crane his neck a little awkwardly to reach her, but that's not as important as the soft kiss he presses to her lips then.]
no subject
Knock it off and just chill with me, nerd. We can make out later before anyone comes looking for us. [And it's amazing how happy the thought makes her, Lup's mouth curling into a grin as her fingers twist into Barry's shirt, curling around the fabric there.] We've got all the time we need.
