orchard
[ Will she ever get used to the feeling of... well, having feelings that are not her own created within her? Probably not. Dany wanders among the greens of the city's orchard, marveling at the fact that anything like these could grow in a place like this. She brushes leaves with her fingertips, wondering at the kind of power that both allows these to flourish while also imposing upon the entire population the sensation of being drawn to strangers, as they all had felt during the past week.
Surprisingly, she is wearing her jacket at the moment. It's atrocious and not at all her style, but she only has a single outfit. The caves are cold enough that pride won't keep her from a little extra warmth.
Dany crouches down to examine more of the plants, plucking a single berry from one of the bushes and peering at it curiously. ]
speakeasy
[ She is no stranger to alcohol, of course. Not by far. The young queen sits alone in the only place that's anything like a tavern in Hadriel, twisting the stem of a glass of wine between her fingers. It's a white, something between sweet and dry, and she takes the occasional sip, clearly lost in thought. In fact, she's looking covertly at other people in the place, taking in their way of speaking, mannerisms, and conversations. When she isn't people-watching, Dany is looking at the other offerings in the Speakeasy, the kinds of mixtures that she's never heard of in Essos or otherwise. ]
What is that? [ She inquires, indicating the drink held by the person sitting nearby. ]
hot springs
[ Anyone who knows her even a little won't find it surprising that Dany frequents the hot springs. Long, silver hair drifts lazily along the surface of the water as she sighs, sinking deeper, meditating in silence on her time in the cavernous city so far. Someone joining her might notice the intensity of the water's heat, or how it doesn't seem to affect the young woman as she relaxes.
How long am I to be trapped here? For all of her experiences, when she's felt hopeless or desperate or afraid, she has never felt this powerless. Months, now, in Hadriel with no sign of change. Sansa Stark and Margaery Tyrell, too, have been trapped here... and yet, it isn't the same for the other Westerosi women. Margaery had come from after her death, incredibly, and had no other world to return to. Sansa... is alive, but had apparently been through similar experiences before this. Had traveled to other 'worlds.' I am the only one of us who wants more badly to return than anything else.
More than that, she'd openly claimed that she would find a way to return, that they wouldn't be slaves to the gods for much longer. And yet, nothing has changed. She may not be a slave, but she is still a prisoner.
Dany sets her jaw tight, at a loss. ]

speakeasy
she smiles when she sees it's Dany asking]
--this? Oh. It's a whiskey sour. What're you having?
no subject
Wine. [ She reports simply. ] Though I've never had quite this vintage before.
[ The flavor is delicious, really. ]
no subject
leans in conspiratorially]
It's good? Trade you a sip of mine for a sip of yours.
no subject
Augh. This is - oh. Awful. [ She clears her throat repeatedly, making a face. ] How can you drink this?
[ It's both too strong and too intense for her. ]
no subject
[she winces at Dany's reaction to the whiskey sour] I probably should've warned you. Whiskey's an acquired taste for most people. [she shrugs] I'm used to it. Reaper metabolism means it takes a lot of something really strong to give me even a mild buzz.
[definitely an acquired taste]
no subject
[ She can guess, but it'd be more interesting to hear it from George herself. ]
I hope you at least take some joy from that. [ Dany says, still looking displeased as she takes back her wine and offers over the whiskey. ] I could never drink it, I think.
[ Not unless she was feeling particularly masochistic. ]
no subject
[it's a pretty cushy deal, actually, as long as you don't count the "being dead" thing]
Ehh, I usually don't drink enough to get buzzed. It's just a way of unwinding after my shift at the clinic. You might be better off trying a mixed drink with vodka. Vodka doesn't have much of a flavor, so all you'd really taste would be the fruit juice.

hot springs
...fuck it, I'll risk turning lobster-pink.
[She lowers herself in with a sigh, as Barkspawn plops down by the edge and wags his tail at Dany.]
So, what's your secret or have you just not been in here that long?
no subject
Secret? [ Oh, good: the animal is only resting nearby. She relaxes, looking back to the stranger. ] What do you mean?
[ It's easy to forget that the water is objectively hot... ]
no subject
I mean it's hot enough to boil meat and you're not even a little pink. I bet mine will match my hair before long, but it'll still be worth it.
no subject
[ She isn't looking for her company to be boiled alive, after all. ]
no subject
[She shrugs, then sinks in a little more.]
no subject
[ That's more familiar. ]
One of my closest advisors is a dwarf... [ Dany begins, appraising Aren. ] But, you don't look like him at all.
no subject
Is this the part where I get offended and say something about how humans think we're all supposed to look alike?
I've heard plenty of strange things from people here about what dwarves are like in other worlds. So tell me what yours are like and I'll tell you how close to the mark you are about Thedas dwarves.

hot springs;
The heat draws a quick 'oooh' from her mouth, but she's used to it for the most part with how often she wields fire.]
Hey, it's the dragon girl. Fancy seein' you here.
no subject
[ But, they shared a moment, in her dream. It was an intimate experience. Let Lup call her that, at least for now. ]
I come here often. [ Dany goes on, glancing at the steamy water. ] It... is a small luxury within our captivity.
no subject
She'd felt alive during a time she'd been very dead, so it had all been very appreciated.
Lup throws up an arm to rest against the side of the hot spring, grinning across the water towards Dany.]
Couldn't agree more. It was pretty chill of whoever put this all together to keep the gals and guys separate too. Nice to have a haven away from the boner squad.
no subject
Most of it. ]
That was... considerate. [ She doesn't mind much if the sexes are separate, so long as the men are respectful. Dany doesn't seem to have much shame, seeing as she's naked in the hot spring, anyway. ]
... "The boner squad?" [ what in tarnation ]
no subject
Dany's question, though, gets a laugh out of the woman, her head thrown back, freckled shoulders shaking.] Eh, just men. Just grateful for the lack of dudes in here. We ladies need a place to chill without all them staring at our tits, right?
no subject
Men will always find a way. [ She wouldn't be surprised if some were spying on them right now, honestly. ] But I hope those here have enough sense to stay away.
[ She gets the feeling that there would be more of a punishment for them, here, than in her world. ]

except it's not a bird. it's just Nah. she peers down at Dany, nearly mistaking her for a stranger for a split second thanks to that jacket.]
Oh... hey! It's me— the dragon! From your dream!
[an arm emerges from the leaves to wave at her. more oranges fall.]
no subject
[ It had been a dream, after all, and the details are difficult to remember. ]
