Doctor, doctor
Who: Trafalgar Law, Seel har Parasiel
What: Law's helping Seel quit smoking, and wants to learn more about Wraeththu, soooooo housecall!
Where: Seel's apartment
When: yeah now's good
Warnings: medical fallacies and abuse of powers, naked Wraeththu, frank sexy talk.
Law gave it enough time to let his particular and unique method of treatment to kick in, but knew he'd have to make good on his promise to check in sooner rather than later. He remembered the address, and picked up one of his journals along with some antiseptic on his way to the other spire. These days, with the water situation, one could never be too sure.
Knock, knock. "Seel-ya. It's Law."

He remembered the address, and picked up one of his journals along with some antiseptic on his way to the other spire. These days, with the water situation, one could never be too sure.
Knock, knock. "Seel-ya. It's Law."

He opened the door for his new doctor and ushered him inside. "I'd say welcome, but chances are it looks pretty similar to the other apartments in the city."
no subject
He drifted along to find a place to set his bag for the time being. "So. How have things been progressing? Any issues?"
no subject
Seel went over to the couch and sat down. "I wish I could say I'm fine but, I really want to smoke." And he'd probably been bitchier than normal, but who could tell the difference? "It's better than I remember it being though. So, no issues I guess. The sex thing is helpful."
no subject
"I'm not surprised. It would be odd but remarkable if you didn't have any cravings at this point." Irritation, well, that's going around. Law himself had been short of temper with nearly everyone, thanks to a lack of caffeine. "If it's helping, then good, but it might help to do another stimulation. With the lack of fresh supplies, we're all short on the usual substitutes - alcohol, coffee, and so on."
no subject
"Yeah. I'm hoping to remedy the food part, or at least some of it. But there's only so much we can do right now. Everything takes time." Seel took a breath, thankful that Law didn't trigger his temper the way some people did. It really wasn't hard.
"I would love another session. More than one if possible. It....was quite good."
no subject
In fact, he preferred to get that out of the way. Small talk was still hard for him, even when he was comfortable with people, and figuring out what else he needed - or wanted - to know would take some chatting. And, there was a chance he could find something while poking around in there to build on.
Rising again, Law stood in front of him and called up the Room to surround them. It was much stronger and stable now that he had gotten rest and gone days without using his ability - enough that he could take his time. "Like before, stay still and don't twitch around on me." This position was far more intimate, he stood much closer and had Seel's very life in his hands, so to speak.
no subject
He would have nodded but Law said not to twitch so instead he just slipped into a meditative state, just like before. He quite liked the intimate setting, although it was a shame they both still had their clothes not. He knew how Law felt about that. Oh well. For a moment he turned his awareness to the ability Law conjured up. It was still interesting, unlike anything he'd seen before. And stronger. Good to know what he was capable of.
no subject
He would know, given his understandably grouchy state in this post-coffee world.
Without moving back, he set his hands on his hips, fingers loosely hooked in the pockets of his jeans. "Another session or two should bring you down to a normal level. The sex is working, is it?"
no subject
He refocused and came out of the state upon hearing his doctor speak again. Good, he could move now, hands safely out of his head.
"And what reason would that be?" Seel would much prefer everything to be over with. But life didn't always come with magic bullets, and he really should be grateful he was suffering less than he had the first time. And while he might be grateful, he was still irritated and pissed off. Blame the cigarettes, or his sparkling personality.
"The sex is working. Not as good as a cigarette though. I've been trying to wean." He had some left, but he wanted to save them . Just in case. Clearly not 100% ready to quit now are we Seel?
no subject
Rather than loom, he edged to the side and dropped back down onto the couch. "There is a lot more I could stand to learn about you, in order to improve my technique as well as your health," he admitted, easing a hand toward his bag again to grab his journal. "Anything you're willing to discuss with me can help."
no subject
Seel shook his head, watching Law and finally he shrugged. "I'm happy to answer any questions. Explain anything. Or show you. I really don't care. You'll find most Wraeththu don't have the hang ups that humans do about their body or sexuality. Is there anything specific you had questions about or just in general?"
At least Lawwas intending to write stuff down. That was a huge step up from Seel's normal physician (or Seel's giant bias against him). Admitting he might not know something.

Part of Seel didn't want to continue. Early on this secret was hidden and kept with their lives. But now? Seel was over thirty years older and times had changed. The humans that were around now knew. And of course, they weren't in their world. Besides, Law hadn't really shown any signs that he wanted to hurt Seel at all.
"It's basically a transfusion. The key is to balance the amount of Wraeththu blood you give so the change will take and not just kill the boy."
Seel paused, thinking. " Pure borns, second generation, etc, are a little different. When I roon Swift--he's my....well, I guess we're married. Anyway, he feels different than the other first gen I've rooned. Oh, there are genetic differences that vary based on tribe. Honestly, I'm not sure how it happened so quickly and I'm sure that's something the specialists in Immanion are happily studying. I'm...."
Seel paused, not entirely sure he wanted to go on and admit what tribe he was from, and the variations within. But, he probably had too.
no subject
For not the first time he wished he knew more about that, but, well. Conquering the Grand Line was more important than sitting in some government lab with Vegapunk. The native term caught his ear, since it was so rare that words didn't get translated. "Roon. Something to do with sex? From the context, last time we spoke. I'm curious, though. Why go through the transformation? What do you gain? For instance, I ate a Devil Fruit to gain the power to save my own life, even if it meant sacrificing a great deal and changing."
no subject
"And yes, roon is our word for sex. Wraeththu don't typically have the same taboos as humans do with regard to sex. We need it to survive. "
He tried to take in all of Law's questions, trying to piece together what to say. "In general? The world was dying. I hated the society I lived in and I wanted out. That and my mother caught me having sex with Cal and called the cops. I didn't want to live in a society where love was outlawed." What Seel didn't add was that he and Cal were twelve and thirteen respectively, but it was over fourty years ago. To him, ancient history.
"What did I gain? I didn't realize it at the time. I just wanted out. But, I used to be a human boy. Now? I'm the perfect unification of male and female. I've birthed a child. I don't get sick. And I certainly don't look my age. I also gained some mental abilities like telepathy or telekinesis. I didn't know what I was getting into. But I wouldn't change a thing. But I know there are other Wraeththu out there who do not feel the same. They couldn't handle it. It messes with you."
no subject
His eyes drifted downward briefly and he huffed a short sigh. "And that's the real difference in species, isn't it? There are humanoids everywhere, even here, that may have powers or surface characteristics, but Wraeththu are fundamentally different. I suppose you might as well whip it out and show me - there's no sense dancing around the issue."
It's not like he was being asked to show his, after all. Professional curiosity, given that his once and future patient needed it to survive.
no subject
Seel smirked and arched an eyebrow at him. Good, he was wondering when they'd get to the show and tell part. "Yes. Wraeththu exist in a binary world, where we are alone are not. Except for maybe snails." The things he remembered from fourth grade science class....He was a freaking snail. Or a fish, or whatever other weird animals were a little similar.
He stood up, gracefully, and started removing his clothing. Seel was thin, almost too small, with wiry muscle offset by feminine curves. His hips were smaller than a typical human woman's, but neither were his shape traditionally male either. And between his legs was genitalia that looked decidedly inhuman. Or humanoid, but modified, with something like petals and feathers instead of smooth skin.
"Where do you want me?"
no subject
Most of his notes were in a weird shorthand of English and katakana, but there were already bits of sketches interspersed - a line drawing of muscles and tendons, a notation of bone structure, nothing complete but just insets to help him remember what his notes referred to. If Seel peeked, there would be no illusions that Law was any kind of artist. While he jotted things down, he idly remarked on the topic of biology. "Invertebrates and some sea life," he acknowledged. "Mostly why I'm fascinated. I've studied fishmen but not enough to know whether any of them can change sex like their fish-type, like wrasses and eels. They're already strange, in that none of them lay eggs like fish, so I wouldn't be surprised."
no subject
He peaked at the notes Law was making, the bits of writing he vaguely remembered from childhood but couldn't make any sense of and sketches of things that reminded him of biology class.
"Huh. Is that what my muscles look like on the inside?"
It was weird. He had absolutely no idea what his body was like. Seel has no idea how conception worked besides the vague notions when he went through it, or what a normal birth was like, although from what he gathered twenty minutes and nearly giving birth on the stairs was not ordinary.
"Great. Another thing I have in common with fish. Wraeththu give birth to pearls. It's like a.....leathery sac. Needs to be incubated for a week or two after until hatching." He was a fish. Or a snail or an eel.
no subject
"What, you don't think it's interesting?" he teased, though he did make note that birth involved pearls and incubation. "Fishmen are a powerful species. In most worlds people think mermaids are the greatest thing ever. You don't want to have things in common with folk like them?"
no subject
Still, he responded to the teasing. "Fishmen. I never got into mermaids when I was young." Granted, he became Wraeththu at a traumatic twelve and hadn't really had the chance to explore much 'mermaid' stuff, but still. " I guess it could be worse. We have improved things. Maybe people were right." That was as close of an agreement as you were going to get, Law. Seel's sin was pride.
no subject
His pencil faltered for a moment, thinking of the gigantification experiments he had put a stop to. Humanity's overall sin was undoubtedly never being satisfied with what they had. Ah well. Now that he had a good look, he leaned over for the real personal questions. "So. If all Wraeththu are the same, can you decide who will conceive and carry? How does that go?"
no subject
"Just be careful you humans don't get carried away. Science and improvement is one thing, just make sure it's all for the right reasons." He was sure that was what happened to his own worlds humans. They had wanted more. Unfortunately it was for bad reasons.
"I guess it depends on the two involved. They probably talk about it and decide." Seel paused as this got more personal that Law probably expected.
"I was ordered to conceive. My marriage was arranged, and we were both told what our roles were going to be. It's different for most other hara. Maybe one goes first, and then the next time around, they switch. Or maybe one har doesn't particularly care for their more female aspect. Not all Wraeththu are equally male and female, even if everything 'works'. Some swing more or less toward one side or another, like humans did. It's a spectrum."
no subject
It was always the height of irony when pirates had more morals than the law.
The lesson was intriguing, though a shadow definitely fell across his expression as he considered arranged marriages and orders. "That's unfortunate," he said quietly, not wanting to judge but at the same time, pretty sure that Seel wasn't thrilled with the idea either. Sympathy, then, for the freedom to make one's own choices was a deeply-held belief among many pirates, including Trafalgar Law. "It's not my business to pry, so. You don't have to tell me more than that. Focus on the mechanics, instead."
no subject
"It's alright. I'm happy with the way things worked out. I love him." It still felt weird to admit. Love. That thing he was supposed to be above. He wasn't. " I admit I wasn't happy in the beginning. Being sold like chattel or moved like a chess pawn doesn't feel good."
Seel leaned back, remembering Swift. Beautiful, lovely, so much better than him. "What do you want to know?"
no subject
His diagrams needed labels, after all.
no subject
Seel leaned over pointing out parts. "That's an ouana-lim. It's basically a modified penis, although much improved. I remember that much. Beyond that's the soume-lam." Seel tilted his pelvis, moving his legs a little. " The testicles draw up during aruna--sex, and during pearl birth......I can't believe I'm explaining this to someone who has never seen this before."
no subject
He jotted down the words, as best he could figure out the spelling anyway, and then examined more closely. "Much improved, huh? It looks more complicated, what with the, uh. Petals, for lack of a better word. Hm, but if these retract...ah, now I understand the internal body cavity. There has to be room for it..."
no subject
"Since you were talking about it. I still don't suppose you want to do me?" Seemed a terrible thing to waste.
no subject
Flirting and cuteness, he couldn't handle. Direct requests? Totally different. He actually thought about it this time, and though there was a bit of a blush under the dark circles under his eyes, it wasn't nearly as awkward and pronounced as last time. "Here and now? I'm not exactly ready for it." Though, that brought up a few new questions. "You're married, but you've got someone else here. Open marriage, I take it? Anyway. You warned me that blood is dangerous. What about other bodily fluids? I wouldn't exactly enjoy having my dick burned off."
no subject
"Wraeththu need aruna to survive, to keep healthy. Sticking to one person is dangerous. Besides, why do it? It's just sex. It's like eating. Would you say since you're married you can only eat with one person? Wraeththu do not share many of humanities taboos."
Seel looked down at himself. "No I don't suppose you would enjoy that at all. There was a har here who was intimate with a human for months. As far as I know his dick never got burned off. But I never thought to ask either. The other way around is dangerous. But you and me?.......I'm honestly not sure. And come to think of it I certainly don't want to hurt you."
On the other hand he really wanted you to bone him, Law. Even if he wouldn't get much out of it. And Seel wasn't used to being turned down. He was pretty, and he had political power. There were those back home who would do him for that alone.
no subject
It wasn't like he didn't, but Law's issues were not the typical ones. Honestly, a fear of intimacy wouldn't hold him back in this kind of situation, and as that thought crossed his mind, he found himself asking himself why not? If another human here had already tried it and come out with all parts intact, that meant it was safe enough. Not being able to fully satisfy Seel? Well if he still wanted to try it, then Law wasn't going to be embarrassed by not being satisfying enough. And really, what was so wrong with trying something once?
Law was just polite enough not to stare at Seel's groin and instead drew his eyes upward, following the androgynous curves to his eyes. Another moment or two of thinking, and a wry smirk curled his lips. "What the hell. I've been tense myself lately, maybe I just need to get laid."
no subject
"Good. Aruna, or sex in your case, should be a healthy part of life. As a doctor I would think you'd agree. Maybe humans would be more understanding of each other if they screwed more." There was some sound logic.
Seel didn't quite care about getting off. That was part of the fun, but really, sex was a way of communication. You go to know another person, human or hara, so intimately through it. Things they never would reveal by just talking. Besides, he'd been rooning Cal so often, he needed another flavor.
"Bedroom?" Probably a good idea consider Seel currently had roommates. Not that Seel would care if they came in to find him screwing a guest on the table.
no subject
Bedroom? Yes, clearly. Law tucked the pencil into his journal and left it on the nearest hard surface before standing up. And then, just in case, swept off his hat and left it there as well. "Sure. Probably for the best."
no subject
"Let's go." Seel smiled. This would be fun.
no subject
He tried not to think now what? or get distracted wondering if he could even get hard. Though, his body was already kind of answering that question for him, the more he thought about the unique situation unfolding around him. A little more "why not?" and he'd be good to go.
no subject
He turned to eye Law's tattoos. They were nice. Seel quite liked decoration, although parts of his markings reminded him a little the Uigenna tribe, which he firmly pushed out of his mind. No need to ruin the mood. His eyes traced his muscles, not that different from a har, but he obviously lacked the subtle femininity. He could work with that. It'd been fourty years since he'd been with a man, although really, at thirteen 'man' was pushing it. Still it felt good to be with someone new. This was how it was supposed to be, wasn't it? There weren't enough Wraeththu in Hadriel for it it be truly fun. The newness was gone.
His eyes dipped lower, smiling. Seel could work with that, almost shuddering with anticipation, thinking about what Law would feel like. Delicious.
no subject
Let's go, Seel. Show him what you've got.
