[OTA] Feb/March events!

Who: Ignis Scientia (claritatis), Julie Grigio Cabernet (redwinekindofgirl) and Nil (atravellerwithabow).
What: Top levels for the Feb and March events, as and when required.
Where: In the city, outside the city, wherever.
When: Feb/March for the duration of the Kiss Me Kill Me/Field Trip/Flu Season events.
Warnings: Nil.

Motorcycles. [ Another new word. She examines it with a tilt of the head, hand reaching out to brush along its frame. ] We have no such things in my world.

[ Neither Essos nor Westeros, as far as she knows. ]

Old Lucian? [ Somehow, it makes her think of High Valyrian, and she chuckles softly. ] And who do you intend to save?

[ Is it a little prayer that this motorcycle might help him safely reach his destination so that he might aid Hope? That is the aim behind these excursions, isn't it? ]

We're being asked to save Hope, are we not?

[A prayer? No, more of a commentary. Ignis thinks very little of the self-styled gods on the whole, but he can see their use and how the city and those living in it would struggle without them. Hope is the one who keeps them alive, amongst other things, and without him it might as well be a slow march to inevitable death in the face of the creatures around Hadriel, and the ones that the Door brings through.

He gives a quick smile to the woman, folding his arms loosely and curling his fingers around his elbows.]

Though they do ask much of us, given the hazards we might expect to face.

He has been saved. We're being asked to restore his power.

[ This is how she thinks of it, anyway. Dany has no great love for any of the gods, but knows - somewhere - that they would be worse off without the beings' abilities. ]

I assume you aren't traveling alone?

[claritatis]

He'd be in a poor state without his power, and so would we, given what he supplies us with it.

[Life, for lack of a better term. Hope could exist, but that wasn't really living, was it? What they were being asked to do was above and beyond what most of them would ordinarily wish to, but if they wanted to continue to live in relative comfort and security, they had to lend a helping hand.

And, in turn, Hope would be able to do the same for them.]

Mm, no, I shouldn't be. There's a small group. My-- [Gods, why does he always hesitate there? He frowns at himself and shakes his head.] My girlfriend, Kate, and some of her friends.

I never said it wasn't a mutually-beneficial situation.

[ Well, somewhat. The other gods may not be able to revive them, but they provide their own benefits. It isn'y only Hope... ]

Your "girl friend?" [ Why does there need to be a clarification of the gender? ] Well, take care. We have no idea what those other cities might hold.

[He almost doesn't address the question in her voice as she echoes him, but it does occur to him that she might not use the term.]

My romantic partner. [Gods, save him from his own awkwardness about his relationship with Kate Galloway. One day he'll be able to talk about it without tripping over his own thoughts.]

And... thank you. We are taking a risk, despite potential rewards.

I see. [ That brings a more understanding smile to her face, and Dany chuckles lightly. ] Forgive me: I wasn't familiar with the phrase.

[ Now she knows, though. Thanks, Ignis! ]

Of course. But, then, that is the same with most things. [ Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? ] Much of life is risk without the promise of any reward at all.
