[CLOSED] It's getting harder and harder to fight the fear and the desire
Who: Taako and Kravitz
What: Some hobby swapping, a casual date, an important discussion.
Where: Starting at the lake and then possibly moving around.
When: Backdated to the start of February
Warnings: Should be clean, other than some curse words and salty anger.
[Taako would say this sort of thing has been a mess, but it feels counter-intuitive to mention something specific when his whole life is typically a disaster zone. He had planned to do this a little earlier- give himself a nice day after the shitshow that was new arrivals last month, but a giant fuckoff sandstorm combined with losing himself for a week and a half did not a date night make. Even as it stands, Taako's ready to never talk about that again, but it is a bit funny he's bringing Kravitz to a lake, considering the circumstances of their child selve's near-drowning adventure.
But this excursion isn't about swimming, it's about fishing, which Taako is pretty sure Kravitz has either never done or it's been about a billion years so he doesn't quite remember. He'd fashioned himself a pole a while ago, for when he wanted something fresh for a recipe, so with some supplies and ten minutes of fabricate making one for Kravitz was no big. He'd told him to meet him down here, and Taako is just setting up, both poles sticking out of the sand and a container of bait shoved in there next to it. He's got a few replacement hooks in his pocket, but they're mostly just the same as the originals, aka some twisted and pointy wire. He's making do with what he's got.
Regardless, he looks up and grins as he hears Kravitz approach, floppy sunhat blocking the light from his direct face. Below it, he's just in one of his favorite tank and shorts combo with a sheer cover up skirt that really isn't offering much coverage other than being cute. But that's like. All he does, so.
Taako reaches up and tips the edge of his hat in greeting.]
Hey babe. Party's all here. You ready to get your chill on?

Hey babe. Party's all here. You ready to get your chill on?

u even added my tag to the entry. i love u.
A date, though. A date sounds perfect, after all the fucking crazy they've dealt with.
He's learning not to teleport right on location. A short walk in is nice, not really a bother at all, and most importantly it means that Taako isn't cussing him out or slapping his arm for scaring the shit out of him for the 100th time. (In this regard, he may have been a slow learner.)
It's predictable, the way he's stopped in his tracks at the sight of Taako, but if predictable means more of this- of Taako, skirt brushing over thighs, face inviting and voice lilting, then he is happy to be predictable for the rest of forever.
Well- in some ways.]
Yes. Yes, I just need one moment.
[Kravitz takes a quick, short breath, as if preparing himself for something nerve wracking. And then, in place of his suit pants and dress shirt, is a long skirt and loose t-shirt.]
uh of COURSE
After a few seconds, he turns that grin on Kravitz, tilting his chin up to his face.]
Babe. Getting yourself all wrapped up for me. I love it.
[Not that Taako doesn't appreciate Kravitz' suits (because ugh, how could he not), but this is special. This is only for him. And that, he cherishes. Taako leans up, gives him a quick kiss, and takes his hand to walk him back over to the poles.]
So, you ever done this before?
no subject
I was hoping that you would.
He squeezes Taako's hand and steps in time alongside him, enjoying the feeling of his skirt brushing over his legs.]
Never. This would be my first time.
[He grins sharply at Taako, clearly setting him up for the joke on purpose.]

Great, another aspect where I gotta teach you everything.
[He winks, bending over when they reach the poles and plucking one out of the sand, the hook already strung with bait. It’s not traditional- just a can of mystery meat from the shops- but he’s sure not going to eat it, and the fish seemed to be biting at it earlier, which convinces him to eat it even less.]
It’s real simple, Kravvy-boy. You lean the pole back, chuck the line way out there. Then you slowly turn this thing and it reels in the line. The motion makes a fish notice, fish bites, you pull it outta the water. Easy peasy. If you want, you don’t even have to reel it, just let it, uh, sit a while until someone in there notices. Totally zen. Watch.
[He untangles himself from Kravitz, in the interest of not taking out the other man’s eye, and swings back, casting out towards the center of the lake and letting it land with a small splash.]
See? Nothin’ to it.
no subject
He isn't subtle at all about the way he watches Taako lean down to pluck a pole from the sand, but he does snap to attention when Taako starts to teach. It's something his boyfriend cares about, so he cares about it. Or- is planning to. Yes.]
Hm. Seems simple enough.
[The universe hears and recognizes that this is Kravitz practically begging for something to go hilariously wrong. In the interest of advancing to important discussions, it allows the moment to pass with Kravitz simply casting his line far too short, and dumping it in the sand.]
You see? I try to control my strength, and this is where it gets me.
[He's pouting.]
no subject
Babe, are your only two modes casting like this or chucking it into the sun? Honestly.
[He puts his hands over Kravitz', guiding him to the reel.]
Pull it in, go again. Make sure when you cast you're holding onto this button here so the line releases and don't be a goofus. I'd say even a skeleton could do it, but you haven't proved that one yet.
[Just to be an asshole about it, he shifts his hips into his back, in a totally nonsexual motion. Not his fault he had to get all up close and personal. Totally.]
no subject
[He snarks back playfully, not actually all that annoyed. How could he be, with Taako's voice next to his ear and arms around him? That's basically all he wants at any given time. So. You know. Fishing line, do your worst. (Please don't.)
Following Taako's instructions is far easier this time, and he winds the line back in thankfully without incident. We made it this far, folks.]
I was- doing that.
[The lie doesn't even manage to be partway convincing. He's easily distracted.
Kravitz throws a look over his shoulder at Taako, one that is probably meant to be admonishing, but has far too much amusement in it for that.]
Should you be standing this close when I cast?
no subject
Consider it incentive, babe. You hit me, you lose out on what the rest of this afternoon has to offer. Just don't release until you're goin' forward. It's easy.
[He's tempted to lean a bit further forward, bite at his neck or ear, but he doesn't actually want a fishing hook in his hat or back or god knows what, so he abstains.]
C'mon, don't make me be ashamed to be seen with you.
no subject
He scoffs, this time jutting his hips backwards in retaliation, in a motion that is anything but sexual. (Haha. Butt sexual.)]
Is that truly my only requirement? Not hooking you? I think I can manage that, so do put the rest of our plans down in ink.
[This time Taako's teasing makes him laugh, loud and jittery and goofy.
He shakes his head and allows it to pass, taking a deep unnecessary breath- before finally casting the line correctly. Hallelujah.]
Ah-- I can do it! I did it! Taako, I cast the line successfully!
no subject
His posture is still lazy, flopped over more on Kravitz than standing behind him, grinning a little more genuinely than he usually lets himself.]
Good job, babe, you actually followed a direction.
[He finally pulls himself from Kravitz, going to pick up his line and casting it out into the water aside his.]
So, we can either keep doin' this, like, over and over, or just let it sit and hang. Real chill sport. Only kinda sport I hang with. You think you can handle doin' it more than once, or is that too much of a strain?
no subject
He slides his glance away to focus on where his line meets the water, and just barely loud enough for Taako to hear, he responds.]
Funny. I recall recently asking you the same thing.
[Maybe from a distance he looks composed, but the truth is, he's barely containing laughter.]
no subject
Kravitz speaks, and Taako doesn't miss a beat, tilting his head towards Kravitz without looking at him and rising right back.]
I'm not the one who begged to cum after five minutes of getting his dick sucked, but go off I guess.
[He bites his lip, watching out of the corner of his eye for the inevitable reaction.]
no subject
His lips press together tightly and he makes a point of dramatically looking away from Taako before he replies.]
I have nothing further to say on the matter without a fantasy lawyer present.
no subject
Awww, Kravvy boy can't handle the truth. Shame.
[He's just gonna nibble a lil bit there and down his neck, don't mind him, it's fine.]
Brought you out here for fishin' and now you're on this. Sigh.
[He's also kind of running away from the reason he needed this comfort and the emotions he should be talking about but kissing Kravitz has always fixed that problem before, at least for a while, soooo.]
