Good morning! It's another fine sunny day in Hadriel, and what's more, there's a good chance that you've woken up with something new and interesting in your possession - something you've never seen before. Something, in fact, that doesn't even belong to you. That's right, the Door is acting up again and it seems to be pulling things from everyone's world and dropping them into the laps (and homes) of strangers.
When you touch whatever it is you've found, you'll get a brief glimpse through the eyes of the person it belongs to, a glimpse of whatever they're doing at that exact moment. Maybe you'll see them eating breakfast, or walking through the streets of Hadriel, or checking out their own sweet ass in the mirror. That last one might be the best, because then you'll immediately know who this strange striped hoodie or weird book or priceless artifact belongs to. Otherwise, you're just gonna have to try to figure out from context, so - good luck with that!
And of course, you might also catch on to the fact that if things are arriving for lots of other people, something also might have arrived for you. Maybe you should search the city until you find it? Or you can hang out at home and hope whoever has it finds you. Your choice! Well, as long as it isn't something super cool that they'll want to keep. That would be awkward.► This log covers March 14th-19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If someone gets really mad about you ending up with their favorite hoodie, please let us know here.

"I've made a few of them in my time." Or you know, every phone he's ever owned. "Back home? Everyone's got one." He flicks through a few pages, hunting for a particular document, explaining his gestures and giving several helpful hints. Lucky you. "Okay. You're gonna read this, should be pretty useful. I can recommend a few others?"

"So you're an artificer, then? If you make things like this." He doesn't look like the sort she would have expected to do that sort of manual labor. But then, she's not sure what sort of person he does look like either. He carries himself with an air of confidence, but that wheeled board is such a ridiculous method of transportation.

"That's what you call someone who works with-- raw materials where you're from?" It's the only thing he can think of that might be the same no matter where you go. Although he's reluctant to make the comparison if the world she's living in isn't as advanced as his. "I'm an engineer. Mechanic."

Absolutely not her area of expertise, and as much as she likes to lay claim to some of the work behind the creation of the ephelesi, the dream-eating constructs, it really is mostly Amamot's work. Her involvement is mostly limited to following the ones that have been deployed, watching what they do, making sure they're working as intended.

But then Caedra just laughs and shakes her head. "I really don't know how artificers do it either, though. You could probably have a far more informative conversation with someone with training in the subject. Thank you for your help, though, I'll have to get to reading."
And maybe some of that will explain the strange mechanical book she's carrying around, reluctant to give up entirely until she understands its potential uses.
"Oh- I didn't catch your name, by the way."

"Guess you owe me one now." His lips quirk, and he laughs as he flips the skateboard back into his hands again. It might have been a tactical move. Means he doesn't have to reach out to shake her hand.
"Tony."

And that's perfectly fine, no hand-shaking needed. She'll have to keep this one in mind for the future. He seems useful, potentially, at least for answering technical questions should any arise. Smart. There are dangers that come with that intelligence too, of course, depending on if it extends beyond just crafting fancy tools.
"And yeah, guess I do. You don't have anything in particular in mind, do you?"
Hopefully not. It's just simpler to accept an open-ended IOU and never have to repay a thing.

Tony nods, once, twice, several times - as if something makes sense. Mostly he's just ready to get out of here. He has a skateboard to return to it's original owner.
"Not yet. I'll let you know when I think of something."
With that he sets the board down in the direction he wants to go in, hopping onto it, wobbling for just a moment, and regaining balance just in time to give her a half-wave.
