am I the caller of your keep
Who: Guardsmen & you!
What: A open catch-all for the Guard HQ for the month.
Where: Guard HQ
When: March 10th – April 9th
Warnings: TBA
A month after construction finished, the Guard HQ is in great shape. While it retains an air of newness, it's also starting to look settled into.
A sofa by the entrance, in clear sight of the office off to the right, provides a place for visitors to wait if they wish to speak with a guardsman. The office itself is made up of a variety of scavenged tables and chairs, inconsistent in style but providing every guardsman a space to do paperwork and occupy while manning headquarters. Beyond the office is a small meeting room, as well as a separate lounge for guardsmen to socialise and eat in, filled with a handful of comfortable chairs and a low table. Off to the left side of the building is a large, open training area, for guardsmen to train, spar and offer lessons within, safe from the overbearing heat outside. Beyond that is a storage room. A set of stairs at the back lead up to the roof, which serves as the northern watchtower. Like the standalone watchtowers that cover the other cardinal directions, it provides shelter from the elements as well as windows that allow a clear view, wide enough to be shot or fired from with ranged weapons.
The front door is always unlocked.

[Even if the specifics of her rank elude him, officer is more than enough experience to satisfy him.
Henry gestures back the way he came.]
Join me at my desk and I shall get you started.
sorry for the delay, tag was lost!
[She pulled up the chair nearest to the desk and sat down. How many guards do you have listed?
no problem!
[Henry answers as he takes his own seat. He opens one of the drawers and pulls out a blue sash, which he sets down on top of the desk.]
On a daily basis, we expect our guardsmen to patrol the city and take a shift manning one of our watchtowers as well as this place. Once a month, when newcomers arrive, guardsmen should assist them in escaping the colosseum safely. At times of great peril, myself and Nick Valentine make a call to arms over the network. We also use a phone app to prompt all guardsmen to check in every few hours. Those who fail to do so are assumed to be casualties. It remains off under all other circumstances.

[Efficient, that is. Henry points over to a board mounted on the wall.]
That is our list from our past encounters. All guardsmen are required to write reports.
[Hence having a dedicated office space.]

You mentioned patrols earlier. What's the current schedule and time table for shifts?
no subject
[Henry picks up a piece of paper that sits on his desk and hands it over so that she can take a look. It's clear that some guardsmen are out of the city; there are less than fourteen names occurring, and some people have more or longer shifts than others, himself included.]
We leave a copy yonder, in our lounge.
[He indicates to a room just beyond the office space.]
Should you a preference for certain hours, let us know and we shall see what may be done. If you cannot take your shift, do try to warn us. Though we understand that it is not always possible.

In terms of routes, I could work this one.[She pointed towards are area on the map.] In terms of shift, I'm fairly open, but..I should warn you that a week before I arrived here, I'm on doctor's orders to take it easy. I was in combat just before then and some of my lower ribs were bruised.
[Bruised, not broken, but they were only beginning to heal and even she didn't want to risk damage if she could help it.]

You might visit the clinic if you wish for your injuries to be healed. 'Tis remarkable — some here possess the ability to cure with magic. Still...
[He quirks a half-smile.]
You are unlikely to pressed too hard at present. Most days remain quiet.
