The rebirth of Margaery Tyrell
Who: Closed to close CR
What: The rebirth of Margaery Tyrell
Where: Hope's Temple
When: right now
Warnings: Discussion of murder?
The first thing Margaery was aware of was that she was lying on flat, hot stone. The second thing she was aware of was that she was only wearing a sheet. The third thing she was aware of was that she was not alone.
She'd heard that you could die in this place and be brought back to life later. Hearing about it and actually experiencing it were two different things. She was aware of the breath entering and exiting her lungs, of her eyes fluttering open, of her toes curling against the warm stone.
All of that came as a relief because as what happened the first time she died, the second time only brought darkness. No sign of Seven Heavens or Seven Hells or any other kind of afterlife at all. She was alive again and she couldn't help her stomach fluttering with nerves as she turned her head to face those who'd gathered to greet her.

"Margaery?" He calls her from the entrance, hoping she is returned to them.

Maglor? Is that you?
no subject
You live - I'm so glad. [ Quietly, he moves to come further inside ] May I see you?
no subject
Yes, of course you may. You don't even have to ask.
no subject
I did not even know you were in trouble, forgive me.

He climbs the steps to the porch under the arch, and pushes open the great doors, enters. The silence in here is overwhelming, and the spaces shadowy, despite the atmosphere of hope. He cannot help but think of the last time he came to this place, of the nights he spent waiting for Yukari to return to him.
And he sees that a resurrection has indeed taken place.
"Margaery?" he says, softly. He comes to the alter and offers her the cloak.
no subject
when Curufin enters, she sits up, tucking the sheet around herself as much as she can, although it still leaves her back bare. she's grateful to see that he thought to bring along a cloak. between that and she sheet, she should be able to be properly covered]
Yes, Curufin. It's me. I'm here.
no subject
Thank goodness! How are you feeling?
[ Waking from death is an experience all on its own, completely aside from the experience of death. He doesn't expect her to be ready to leap into action immediately. This this kind of thing may take some absorbing and some thought, and that may take some time. ]
no subject
I--I don't quite know yet.
[she doesn't feel the same way she did after she first arrived her post death. she feels as weak as a newborn kitten and her mind is awhirl with emotions and feelings. she mostly feels uncertain. she hates feeling uncertain]
no subject
Take your time. It is confusing, to emerge from death into life again . .
[ And that he can identify with! Feelings of uncertainty and emotional vulnerability are very troubling indeed. She has his sympathy. ]
Do you need to stay here awhile and regain your strength, or do you want to go elsewhere?

"Are you hurt anywhere?" she kept her voice soft, reassuring, she hoped, her hand stretching out to stroke over the other woman's dark hair, "I am so glad to see you awake!"
And alive. But she is skirting around that issue for now because it made her feel a familiar mixture of sorrow and anger.
no subject
"No, I--I'm fine. Now, at least." [she leans into the sensation of having her hair stroked. she always loved it when people played with her hair] "So am I. I don't. . . quite remember what happened. There was a dark haired woman. She--she grabbed me by the hair and did something. But I can't remember what."
[as soon as Margaery realizes exactly what was done to her and what was accomplished by the doing, she's likely to go into a deep anger]
no subject
"You were too far gone for us to help. But Hope told us that you would be revived, so I gathered some of your things and hurried here." her hand moved without her thinking, smoothing back Margaery's hair with comforting strokes, "Someone said she was...is...a demon. I took that to mean some sort of monster."
no subject
she leans into the strokes. she's always loved having her hair fussed with] He did? I suppose that means I have to be grateful to him for something. And, she didn't look like a monster--well, other than the black eyes. But I've seen stranger features here
no subject
"This is his temple." she sat down on the slab at Margaery's side, feeling her forehead for any trace of a fever, "Black eyes are unnerving, but I have seen stranger too. I do not blame you for not sensing danger."

He is overwhelmed with his relief at seeing her.
no subject
she really could not care less about her state of undress in the moment, she's so happy to see him. he's one of the few people in Hadriel she's willing to be vulnerable in front of which requires a high degree of trust from her.
she murmurs in his ear] I'm here, I'm here. Don't worry, I'm here.
no subject
I'm sorry, Margaery, I'm sorry
[Delmar's voice is quiet and faltering]
I...I should have helped...I...I should have done something...
no subject
Shhh, shhh, shhh, there's no need to be sorry.
[her voice is pitched low and gentle]
There was nothing you could have done. There was nothing I could have done.

But somehow the deaths here...Harlan, Michael, now Margaery...
They make him feel so much more helpless than he had felt when facing death back home. Back home, perhaps, there had been a morbid comfort in the fact that death was simply part of how things were going to go. Some young. Some old. But it was planned either way.
Here it feels random, without the proper weight, without the proper significance and weight a death is due...it feels cruel in its triviality and its ability to be repeated.
Delmar shifts a little so now its his forehead resting on her shoulder, eyes closed]
I don't understand. I..why would a demon...? why you?
