Event log: How Delightful

Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: Delight's resurrection.
Where: Throughout the city, starting in the bar.
When: March 23rd-April 3rd
Warnings: Partying too hard, poor life choices, underage drinking, the worst hangovers of all time.

On the morning of March 23rd, bright and early, Delight is resurrected. Her temple is restored, and her bar appears in the city. What does that mean? Well, obviously it's time to celebrate. We hope everyone brought their party shoes! From March 23rd to March 27th, the party will be mostly contained in and around Delight's bar, with an invitation from the goddess herself. But it won't be long before she decides that's just not good enough - gotta bring the party to the people! From March 28th to April 3rd, the natural light is dimmed and replaced with flashing colored lights, fireworks, and even a few disco balls. Loud music blares through the city, making it hard to sleep, and a wide variety of trouble is available to be gotten into.

Wanna drink away the pain of being trapped in a hellcave? There's unlimited amounts of alcohol of all kinds, and Delight will be happy to supply anything that might be missing. More interested in karaoke-ing your heart out? Hit up one of the jukeboxes. Enjoy gleeful displays of your own mortality? Here's a skateboard and a ramp, have fun. There's just about anything you could desire, as long as what you desire is to party hard and make bad decisions. And hey, if you find yourself getting tired, grab one (or five) of Delight's special energy shots. They'll eliminate your need for sleep, food, water, cure an oncoming hangover and immediately relax any sore muscles you've got for 24 hours per shot! There's no down side! (Except for all the effects coming back to hit you at once when the shot wears off, but whatever.)

After about a week and a half of tequila shots, keg stands, roman candle battles, tagging the city with free spraypaint, inappropriate party games, and balloon hats made to look like rocket ships (wait... that's not a rocket ship), Delight realizes everyone's partied out and starts to wind things down. On April 3rd, she'll clean up the city, removing everything except for a few remaining fireworks and disco balls, stored in her temple. Her bar will still be around, if you can stand to even look at liquor after all the poor choices you made. Otherwise, lay in bed and try to recover from your hangover while the city goes back to normal.

[He thinks about it. What's a girly drink that Ash would be able to handle? Josh tends to deal more in cheap beer and hard liquor, but he's at least got a vague idea of what girls order at bars.]

Mojito, maybe? That's kinda minty and fresh. If they've got mint here.

Hello, not exactly 21. [ And she's always been a stickler for the rules. The last time she went and got a little tipsy, she ended up thinking that a bad prank was a good idea. ]

I like mint. [ So, it doesn't sound too bad. ] Do you know how to make one?

[ Because she so does not. ]

[pighead]

Oh, come on. Pretty sure there's no drinking age in a murder cave.

[But then, Josh never paid that much attention to the one at home, either.]

Uh... mint, rum, maybe sprite or syrup or... something.

[If it's not jack & coke, Josh probably doesn't really know how to make it.]

What about a wine cooler? Bet they've got those.

Can we not call it the murder cave? That gives me real American Horror story vibes, and I really don't like that show. [ The first episode of season one, and she was out. She knew better. But everyone was talking about it. Uh, never again. Uh, uh, ugh.

At the mention of a wine cooler, she gives it a thought, and then leans over the bar counter, boosting herself slightly by putting her feet on the top notch of the bar stool. She pulls a bottle from a line of packed ice with a bright red lid; the label says RASPBERRY in big letters. She quickly shimmies back down to her stool, showing off her prize, and twisting off the lid.

She takes a sip; it's sweet, and bubbly, and sour, and works. ]

Not a bad idea, Mr. Washington!

Hey now, I'm full of good ideas!

[This is definitely not true, but hey, details. He lifts his glass, holding it out for a toast.]

To taking a load off and not worrying about crazy shit for a few hours.

[Or getting super drunk and not worry about it for a few days, but Josh is pretty sure that's way more his style than it is Ashley's.]

[cowardley]

[ The look she gives him is a little pointed, clearly not believing for a single minute that any of his ideas have ever been goods ones, but it's gone as quickly as it appeared as she toasts. ]

Hear hear! [ She cheers, honestly, truthfully hoping for a couple of stress-free hours to just let... let it all fucking go—and not in the Frozen-Disney way. ]

Let's get comfortably drunk!

['Comfortably' may be Ashley's goal, but 'blackout' is a little more Josh's style. Still, he kind of likes the company, and even he knows sometimes he can be easier to deal with if he's got a few drinks in him. He doesn't want to alienate her, so he'll pace himself.

He does finish most of his drink in one swig, though.]

So, have you been getting into any trouble?

[cowardley]

Oh, yeah, loads. [ She's all sarcasm as she nurses her drink, not so interested in keeping up with Mr. Alcoholic here: she knows he can pack them away. ] You know, like vandalism and petty theft. I'm a real troublemaker here in these parts.

[pighead]

[He reaches over the bar and grabs himself a bottle to pour another drink - it doesn't look like he's paying attention to what he grabs at all, probably because he isn't. As long as it does the trick.]

Sounds like you. Probably lighting all kinds of shit on fire and getting into fights. I knew there was a demon under that sweet exterior.

[cowardley]

[ Ashley snorts quietly into her drink. ] Yeah, I'm a real arsonist when I'm not busy cleaning up the kitchen, or hiding from Emily.

[pighead]

Hey, let's be fair here - we all hide from Emily.

[He laughs like it's a funny joke even though it is in fact the truth.]

So - hey. You and Chris.

[cowardley]

What about Chris and I? [ but her cheeks flush. it's not like they're not totally obvious. ]

[pighead]

Aw, come on. It's not supposed to be a secret, right? I mean, he's had a thing for you forever.

[And her blush confirms it, as if Josh needed the confirmation.]

[cowardley]

Of course it's not a secret. [ She rolls her eyes. She's not huge on PDA, but she sits closer to Chris nowadays, and looks at him more, even tends to hold his hand when she can. There's no hiding it, but there's been no big announcement: it wasn't necessary, plus the attention they'd probably get from their friends would have just amounted to annoying teasing. ] We just don't feel the need to go around announcing our relationship status to the world.

[pighead]

You probably should. I mean, there's no Facebook here, you know? You can't just update your relationship status so everyone knows.

[He raises his glass as if he's making a very important point.]

You gotta broadcast it. Otherwise dudes are gonna hit on you.

[cowardley]

Yeah, that is so not going to happen. [ There will be no broadcasting of anything, not her relationship status, or when she first kissed Chris, or even why they finally smushed their stupid nerd faces together. ] If someone hits on me, I'll just politely turn them down.

[ Because that's so easy for someone without a complete spine. ]

[pighead]

[Josh rolls his eyes, somewhat eloquently.]

Yeah, sure. But it'll be a lot easier if people know you're taken. I mean, come on, it's not like you're embarrassed, right? Chris is great. You're both pretty great. Might as well show it off.

[cowardley]

I'm not embarrassed, Josh, I just like keeping private things private. [ but she smiles at him, sly, as if he's admitted some dark secret to her. ]

So, you think I'm pretty great, huh?

[pighead]

[He grins back.] Well, I kinda had to, right? What with Chris mooning over you all the time. It'd have been hell if I didn't like you at least a little.

[cowardley]

[ He mooned over her all the time? That makes her heart flutter a little, and she takes a larger sip from her drink. ]

You didn't have to, but, yeah, it'd have probably been hell. [ Probably still was, just a little bit. Ashley is the kind of girl who zones out a little when Emily, or Jess talk about their guys too much. ]

[pighead]

[Ugh, gross, romance. Well, it's really pretty sweet. He's happy for them both. But still. Gross.]

See? You gotta do what you gotta do. Anyway, I'm glad you guys figured it out.

[Josh is aware that Josh-caused-trauma might have helped with that a little. He's choosing not to acknowledge it, because they're having a nice time.]

[cowardley]

[ She smiles down lightly at her drink. ]

Yeah, me too. [ Not a lot has changed with the new titles, but not fearing rejection or heartache has been pretty nice. ]

[pighead]

Just let me know if I can help out, yeah? I mean, you guys deserve some romance or whatever.

[Like... a date? Or something. Josh can be SUPER helpful. He'll find ya some condoms and everything.]

[cowardley]

Uh, no offense, Josh, but I really don't think Chris and I will need any help. Sure, this place isn't exactly great for date nights, but I'm... happy. [ for what they're going through, that is. ]

[pighead]

[Well, that's a little disappointing - think of all the fun stuff Josh could have done for them. But really, he can only be pleased that they're so happy. And in a place like this, too.]
