Open log! Come meet Carey
Who: Carey and YOU!
What: Carey's been in Hadriel for a couple of months now, and a bunch of weird stuff has happened. But she's settling down and building up a proper routine again! Come meet, talk, hang out, maybe even spar with her! Specially fun if you've never seen a Dragonborn.
Where: Several spots in town
When: April 7th - April 9th
Warnings: None right now.
i. April 7th, Early morning, near Confusion's temple. [Training, sparring]
You know, if not for these phone things, it'd be kind of hard to keep track in this place. With the suns working the way they do and nights being so short, she's had to learn the habit of looking at the tiny screen for guidance.
But, once she did, she was good to go. Today, she got up early, she got her gear, and set up to have a walk around town.
It's been a weird time. Only two months, and so much has happened - people disappearing, weird mind altering things, gods, robots, demons, death - but not all of it has been bad. She's pretty homesick, for sure, but she's met so many good people here. Fun people. So many of her friends are here too and that eases the sting. She'd even say she's had some pretty good times.
Some time into her walk, she finds a good spot. Right outside one of those fancy temples, in view of the river and a patch of trees. Yeah, this'll do just fine.
She can be found training, for an hour or two. Everything from basic strength and resistance building - running, push up, sit ups - to knife throwing and target practice, to doing something akin to yoga. It's a pretty nice morning out today. She needs to make this an every day thing.
--------------------
ii. Armory
This place is freaking packed with all sorts of stabby and cutty and overall killy things.
She's had her daggers with her since she showed up - and thank goodness they came with her, but, by the looks of this place, it's not like they're lacking in blades - but after the demon attack, she started to think if maybe she should gear herself up with other stuff too.
Daggers is where her skills lie, but it probably would be a good idea to have some stuff around the house, for safety. Some of these are way too bulky for her, but maybe she can find long range stuff. Maybe crossbows-
...maybe not crossbows.
With a quiet huffy sight from her nose at the thought, she shakes her head and walks around a little more.
Looking up at the rows of blades on the wall, she doesn't notice someone else in there, bumping right into them.
"Oh, shoot--sorry!"
--------------------
iii.Orchard
For a weird war torn pocket dimension where you're stuck in without any way to get out, this place has a lot of pretty nice amenities.
She walks around the orchard with a bag she's gradually filling up with fresh fruit and vegetables. She stops and stares at some of those she can't recognize, turning them around in her hand and even attempting to smell them, in search of anything...off.
They're all fairly harmless, as far as she can tell. I mean, probably? Maybe...honestly, she can't tell.
Do you need some help reaching the fruit higher up? Do you have any tips or tricks, or some sweet recipe to share? Do you want to assure here that things here won't kill her? Feel free to approach.

dabs, iv for hot springs adventure
Hey, uh-- h-hey! Ever been out here, uhm, before?
iv. Hot springs!
But, you know, there's also the part about hot springs being a pretty cool thing, and her not really hearing about any crazy emotion magic stuff going on there.
Having scored some appropriate swimwear- which is pretty hard to do, in a place that mostly houses humans and human-like races- she's more than happy to have some chill time in the springs.
She turns, smiling at Alphys in greeting.]
Oh, hey! Nah, it's my first time. Haven't really been in huh, a natural spring before. [ Assuming there's anything natural about it.]
no subject
It's, uhm, r-really nice! I remember when Love put them in here.
[She's from a time before all the Gods were even revived, after all. Back when the pantheon was smaller. Not that it isn't now, but in a different way.]
It's one of those things that's like, uhm- most stuff in the city is p-pretty necessary? Like of what the gods give. But these are just... nice? They're just calming and fun. Not a lot of people l-like Love, so they don't come here, but I like it.
no subject
Why don't they? I mean- I get people not liking the Gods, considering the, huh...this whole situation.
Why them in particular? Did they do something extra uncool?
no subject
[She said some, uh. Really gay shit during that revival event.]
I guess it's just an emotion a lot of people don't w-want to feel. Plus, uhm, their events in the past have been... not so great.
no subject
[ Jeez, this is kind of confused.]
I don't think anyone likes feeling something that, well, that they're forced to feel because of someone else-- in a way that isn't natural, you know?
no subject
[She hopes that makes sense.]
We, uh, feel a lot of stuff because they say we have to, so... yeah. Not a lot of people like them on the whole.
no subject
[ There's a lot of talking and discussing that can be done about the matter of emotion and tampering. There's magic that forces people's feelings as well - usually temporarily - but this whole situation is sucky enough by itself without the magically emotion tampering to selfishly feed some random gods or liches.
There's a few seconds of silence, but they're just reaching the hot springs. A welcomed change of subject.]
Wow, this is really- real fancy. Damn.
no subject
C'mon, we can uh, leave our s-stuff in there and then hop in.
[Gosh, she should come here more often, she's already excited.]

He's so small and scrawny (and distracted!) that he goes down effortlessly! Ow his butt! What--?!」
Watch i--!
「He looks up, but the annoyance in his face dissipates at once. Oh, he knows this lizard! Oh, right, tiny dragon!」
Carey...? It's been a while!
「A long, long while!」
ii. Armory
Oh, jeez, sorry--
[ Their voices overlap, but she's a little surprised when this person knows her name, causing her to falter for a second.
Still, she reaches a hand out to help him out.]
I--huh, sorry, do I know you?
no subject
You... don't? My name is Atem.
「He adds, hoping that would sparkle a hint of recognition. It probably isn't a big deal but...」
no subject
[ She curls her hand back, taking a good look at him. But...there's nothing.
She starts to remember her time talking with her best friend, who ended up in this city from a time before they met. But then, it hits her- there was "another version" of her in this place before. That must be it!
Guilt hits her, for some reason, and she smiles awkwardly.]
Sorry, bud, I huh- I don't...think we've met. I mean--at least not I, there's-- sorry, this is kind of really weird.
[ She tries again.]
Some friends of mine told me I- or, hum, some version of me? Was here before, and you might've--that's probably it. Probably.
no subject
Don't sweat it, we talked about one time. I... hmm, confused you with a lizard.
「That might be enough for her to probably assume how that went.」
Nice to see you're doing fine. 「She looks fine...」 Were you looking for someone in particular?
no subject
[ She gives him a funny look for that one, not sure if that was meant as an insult or if the guy is serious.
But she knows the deal about time bs and different versions of people. She's still dealing with the former with someone who is - or, rather, will eventually become - her best friend. So she tries to take all of it in stride.
It's hard, sometimes.]
Oh, huh, not really. Just trying to check out what's in stock in this place.
Does someone keep an eye on this place, or... [ A weapon free-for-all sounds pretty cool and even useful in concept, but not so much in execution, she thinks.]
no subject
Rage keeps it stocked, but that's about it, you can take whatever you want. If you want something in particular it might be wise to ask her directly.
no subject
[ So the god lich things are responsible for them being here, while not entirely...and they keep them fed and armed. Okay then. That's good?
She hums and takes a look around, crossing her arms.]
There's a lot of really good stuff in this place, but I'm not really the, huh, the big chopping and hacking and slashing type. Need something smaller, you know? Like daggers? Maybe some smoke bombs and lock-picking stuff, if they have it...
Know where I can find those?

He did not plan ahead.]
Oh! Sorry...Let me get that out of your way
[He calls out as one of his pear looking fruits rolls towards Carey's foot]
iii.Orchard!
That's okay. Here. [ She smiles, holding it over.]
Slippery little things, haha.

[Delmar reaches out to take it, looking bashful]
I should have brought the basket closer. Silly me.
[He slips some of them into his trouser pocket so as to make them easier to handle, something he only realizes now he should have done at the start.
Then it dawns on him that he hasn't introduced himself]
Oh! I'm Delmar. Are you new here?
no subject
[ She gives him a friendly smile, followed by a chuckle. The kind where you're amused over a not particularly amused thing.]
I huh, well, I've been here for a couple of months now. Guess that's not much, to some folks.
lounges all over 3
It's fine, though. He's got a plan... He lifts his ray gun, taking careful aim at the fruit he's claimed. If he hits the stem or branch or whatever then it'll fall down, right? It's a god damn genius plan... Or maybe it would have been, but he hears a crackle just as his finger squeezes the trigger, and his hand twitches. Instead of hitting his target, the beam launches straight in to the fruit and... pops it, more or less.
Hope Carey likes applesauce rain. And cussing. There's a lot of cussing... )
iii. Orchard
Carey steps out behind the tree, being showered with small pieces of goop before she even processes what's going on. She curses under her breath as well, startled, dropping the fruit she was carrying in her arm, lucky she didn't drop the entire bag she's carrying.]
What the--
[ She blinks, wiping at her face and staring at her hand before she realizes it's just some very goopified piece of fruit. Ew?
She catches sight of the culprit, who is looking fairly upset.]
What the hell was that?
no subject
What the hell was that? He points to the tree he just shot at. ) S'that. ( Yep, that clears it all up. What's not so clear is why Carey's carting around a full buffet... Ghoul perches his hands on his hips, and frowns in a way that's a little more curious than mad. ) The fuck y'pickin the whole forest for? ( Maybe he's a little jelly of her success. )
no subject
[ She looks up at the tree, taking a moment to put two and two together to figure out why she's going to smell of goopified fruit until she gets home to change. ]
How did you make it blow up?
[ But before her question is answered, his own make her look at the bag she's carrying.]
Oh, huh, thought I'd take some home to keep around. Maybe see what I can cook up with them, I guess.
I mean, there's plenty to go around. Didn't think that'd be an issue.
