What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[she flashes an impish smile back and takes a seat next to him. after all, what harm is in a little flirtation? none, and it's been a while since she was flirted with. she misses Matt every day and her feelings for Maglor are. . . complicated. but flirtation? that she can managed]

No, I don't. Do many people here have dates? [she follows his gaze. she doesn't know the man either. she assumes they'll eventually meet, but she hasn't wanted to branch out as much as she used to. being murdered in a place she'd thought was safe has made her skittish]

I don't know who he is, either, so I suppose I do see what you mean.

[Yes! She's sitting next to him, and that smile? Oh, that smile. He could feel his insides do little flips, and yeah, he could see how she was dangerous. She could have anyone doing anything she asked with such minimal effort.

Or maybe that only applied to Tucker.]

I mean, I don't because I don't want to disappoint all the women here. [Yes, all the numerous women who clearly wanted to be with him as they didn't come to his table at all.] But I would make an exception for you.

[she's been known to use that smile to devastating effect in her past. now, though, she's trying to save it for when she genuinely means it and she truly does like Tucker]

It's very kind of you to not want to disappoint anyone. [women are fickle creatures. even in Hadriel. he shouldn't lose heart] Would you? I'm here alone tonight.

Rational Tucker knew it didn't mean anything, the answer was really just shared between friends, but Rational Tucker never came out when stuff like this was in play. She said yes. He had a date with the hottest chick in town (don't tell Carolina he thought that).

He knew everyone wanted him. He couldn't wait to brag about it to Church.

He handed her a beer. Chicks dig beer, right?] You're not anymore.

[He smiled, bright and happy and a little tipsy.] So, what should we do to liven up this place?

[oh, dear. yes, it was meant as between friends. she'd feel awful if she knew that her response led him on in any way. such is a dilemma when one is trained to be charming and flirtatious ever since early childhood.

she takes the beer and sips at it. it's not bad, as far as beer goes, but she's used to wine] Thank you for your kindness.

[she smiles back] Do you know how to dance?

[No worries there, baby; he knew. Mostly. Okay, maybe? Look, it didn't really matter because it wasn't going to go beyond this, and he'd be fine with that, too, no matter what his perverted little come-ons seemed to dictate.]

[And that was a lie, too, but whatever. Let's just say his trigger was very...touch activated and sensitive.

But hey, his eyes lit up at the question, the smile on his lips impossibly wider.] You haven't seen moves like mine before. I can out dance anyone here!

[she's completely unaccustomed to someone being as forward as Tucker is, but she knows how to side-step with the best of them, so don't worry about her]

I--see. [brightly] I will take your word for it!

[he'd still last longer than her third husband. there are drawbacks to marrying a virgin who'd just come of age and that was one of them.

she smiles warmly] Very well, then. Show me.

[Ouch. Ouch. That was a burn, and he knew it, knew it well but maybe he would win her on the dance floor. There wasn't a chick out there that could resist good rhythm. Fact.

He got to his feet, one hand held out.]

Are you coming? [One drunken eyebrow arched.] Or is this a striptease thing? Because I'm down for both.

[it wasn't intended as a burn. she just has feelings for one man who's not here anymore and an It's Complicated with a friend here. unfortunately, her lovelife is a bit of a wreck.

she takes his hand and rises to her feet]

I'll dance with you. [she gives her most sunny smile] What's a striptease?

Sometimes, when a chick gets way too much student debt, she goes to a club and takes off her clothes for enough cash to get her through nursing school.

[His hand took hers and for the moment, he just lead her a little more away from the table and towards where others danced. The music? Not really his jam, but he could make it work.]

[she lets him take her hand and lead her towards the dancefloor. she's not sure what to make of the music, it's nothing like what she danced to in King's Landing, but she'll do her best]
