It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.
There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!
To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!► This log covers April 14th-April 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you get hit by levitating rubble or eat a food that wasn't meant for you, please let us know here.

Yeah, I did. Tastes like home.
[ He hesitates a little, smile faltering as he realizes she most likely doesn't know that. Maybe she does? It's not like he knows how much they've talked amongst themselves about people here. About him. ]
Did Tucker tell you....?
[ ...actually, this probably isn't the best time. ]
no subject
Did Tucker tell me what?
[It's that tone that brokers no debate, and her full attention is bearing down on him completely now. Because it's pretty clear that whatever Tucker knows, he hasn't shared with her.]
no subject
I uh. Want to follow you guys home.

Judging by her expression, it takes her a moment to piece together what it is that he is saying. Why would he want to come to the place where they're all residing? It's not like it's anything special, just six rooms-
But that's not what he's talking about, is it?]
... why?
[That question leaves her mouth before she really has time to think about it. Those green eyes remain on him, brow furrowed, before pieces slowly start to clink in to place.]
Him?

Yeah. In theory we could just stay here forever, but. The idea is that once they figure out how the Door works to get it open, it'd be an option.
[ Ephemera's decision to go back is pretty personal, something Drake was willing to explain to Tucker because the other man was the catalyst but probably isn't his place to tell Carolina. Still, he can explain a little more of his end. Since he's following, and now trying to form some kind of relationship with the others from that world. ]
I'm dead back home, so it's not a sacrifice. I'd only gain something, like I have here. Even if we can't change the timeline.

In a way, Carolina isn't entirely certain why they don't stay here. Given his fate... It does make a little more sense. Although, she also knows that there are reasons that their universe is better.
She does pause, rolling his words over, wondering. It isn't her life, and it isn't any of her business, really, yet she does question.]
If you're dead... Are you certain you wouldn't be when you walk through the Door?

[ Drake shrugs a little. She's not shutting it down or shutting him out, that's something. However unrealistic an idea it may be. Carolina herself is alive, but he knows she's lost plenty of people important to her. Maybe she can understand needing to hold on to whatever chance there is he could keep what he has. ]
I know it sounds crazy, but thanks for not saying so.

Likely they have spoken about it, about what that means, and it had better mean something good. After all, Carolina and her team are there, and while she isn't going to go seeking out a fight, she will protect.]
You know then, some of what lays ahead.
[Wash, perhaps? Or Tucker... There would be little story out of Caboose, or at least not one that would make sense, and Epsilon? She can internally snort at that.
That small shrug of her shoulders, eyes pinning him for a moment, before turning away, leaving him in the peripheral. She does know loss. Knows it over and over and over.]
It's your life to do with as you please, so long as no one gets hurt.

[ There was even a point where Drake had thought about giving up. He hadn't, it had just been a close thing. He was glad he hadn't, that he'd been so stubborn, that things had changed. And he'd been scared when Carolina showed up that they'd go through it all over again, but... they hadn't. Everything they'd worked on had held. ]
He doesn't want to hurt you guys anymore. You've got no reason to believe me, it'll just take time to prove it, but he isn't who you knew. It'll probably always be complicated, but Sharkface was just a persona made from grief he couldn't process until now. If he goes back to that moment, he'll stop the fight. I know it.
Everybody's said you guys had no choice, and that you didn't want to do it, so. I've gotta believe it'll be okay.
no subject
It just takes the right person, or group of people.
[That much she knows first hand. Without Epsilon, Wash, the Blues, and even the Reds, she wouldn't be the person that she is right now. If anything, she likely would have ended up like him, fighting to the last breath, unwilling to listen to any form of reason.]
