What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

But if it's curry like this, I wouldn't mind even if it is another trick. What do you say, should we try it and see?

Good thinking. No point in the both of us needing to be revived. ( though for your sake, charles— he still remembered your place of residence should any bodies need to be dragged there.

he helps himself to a dish, spooning the curry liberally into his plate, the fog finally dissipating away from his lenses. he'll examine it first for a second... then finally shove some into his mouth. ) Ah... it tastes— ( bad? like burning? as though he'd made a terrible mistake? ) just like I remember.

...I honestly can't tell if that's a compliment to the chef or not.

[ Either way, it's kind of hilarious. ]

I'm not sure Boss would be too pleased with someone copying his recipe so well, but... ( he takes another spoonful, closing his eyes briefly and clearly savouring it... ) It's the best thing I've tasted in months...

( more like almost a year, akira... )

Compliments to the chef, uh...whoever they are.

[ It is a mystery. ]

If this Boss of yours ever shows up, I promise not to tell him about this.

You may have just saved a life. ( by making that promise, he means. but with a curious— ) Mm... ( he looks around the tables of food again, wondering... )

Is there anything from your home here at the feast, Charles?

Not that I saw.

[ A light shrug. ]

Then again, most of what I ate, I made myself, so I doubt it was feast-worthy.

Oh? ( he leans back, taking another spoonful for himself. ) Are you a good cook?

As good as I had to be. I doubt it'd be anyone's favorite, though.

How about yours? ( or perhaps, more clearly— ) What's your favourite?

[ He has to think about that, probably too long. ]

Ah...I'm not really picky.

[ That's not really an answer. ]

( it sure isn't an answer.
which is why akira is just going to look over the rims of his glasses pointedly, personifying that statement with just a look.

Maybe not wrong, but definitely evasive. ( he says it with a grin. oh well, if you don't want to talk about yourself charles that's fine too, he guesses!!

he motions towards his bowl. ) Want to try some?

[ Well, no point in seeming more weird than he apparently already does. Scarlett probably isn't going to show up and berate him for eating either, so it's fine. Maybe. ]

( it is fine. it's definitely fine, which is why he shoving the bowl at you with a brand new spoon, ripe for the tasting. )

If there's one thing I realized when I learned how to make this curry, it's that it tastes better with company. ( and here's a smile, to back that up. )

[ Thank you for not giving him the spoon you ate from, because he definitely wouldn't. ]

I'll do my best to be worthy company, then?

[ Like it's a question. He takes a spoonful, eats it. After he swallows, because he doesn't want to be impolite: ]

there was something just maybe... a little too robotic about that? he won't make a big deal of it though, taking his prized bowl of curry back. ) What do you think, should we try something else?

[ Even if it was robotic, it was at least honest, so that's...better than nothing. ]

What, you're going to leave your food unprotected while you look for something else?

Of course not. ( and he hugs the bowl close to himself as though he was protecting it from your blasphemous words. )

I'll be taking it with me.

Wow, you must really like it.

[ The mental image of someone taking home a bowl of curry, setting it across the table for a candlelit dinner, gently tucking the bowl of curry into bed...

He lowers his voice, as if sharing a secret. ]

Don't you think the curry will get jealous if you start looking for other food, though?

( that mental image might not be far off. since as charles mentions the potential for curry to feel jealous... akira opens his blazer, placing the bowl inside... and concealing it. )

What it doesn't know can't hurt it.

( all while remaining completely straight-faced. )

[ Now it's going to get fuzz in it. ]
