Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

Okay! You wait here, I'll go... scout around.

[Don't ask her where she found it, but about ten minutes later she returns triumphant and plants the box down on the nearest table with a gleeful sound.

She's had enough to drink to not feel self-conscious about what she's doing.]

Found it. You ready?

All right. I'll just--be here?

[hoo boy. yup, she sure found it. that means she actually has to participate in the game, doesn't it?

yes. yes, it does. there is not enough liquor in all of Hadriel to make her feel not awkward. but, she's going for it]

Yeah, I'm ready when you are.

[redwinekindofgirl]

[She sure found it, and she clears a space to unfold the mat before she tests the spinner with far too much gusto.]

You know how to play, right?

[awkward. awkward. awkwaaaaaaard. George feels like she's made up entirely of arms and legs and kneecaps and elbows, all of them just waiting to find an inappropriate place to land]

I've played a time or two, yeah.

Okay, cool. Could do with someone to spin, but... we'll manage. I'll go first.

[She spins the spinner, the plastic rattling against cardboard.]

Right foot blue. Easy first move.

Yeah, that would be helpful. What's gonna happen when we run out of hands?

[George takes her turn with the spinner, landing on...]

Left hand yellow.

[and let the Awkward begin]

[She snorts softly.] We'll have to figure it out.

[If need be, she'll take off her shoes and spin the thing with her foot. Or hail some unsuspecting passer-by to sit down and spin the thing for them. There have to be enough drunk people here by now to be able find someone who would do it.

With Twister being the kind of game it is, it won't be long before they're having to put themselves into all kinds of odd positions to get to the right colours.]

and this is why George never plays Twister. even with friends. maybe even especially with friends. the contortion thing can get seriously Awkward and George's uncomfortable enough in her own body]
