Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[Komaeda is still trying to adjust to the fact that Serah told him that he is a friend so he just stares at the pasty for a few seconds.]

It would be very rude of me to reject such a generous offer. [And he slowly takes the pastry. He is sure that some horrible disaster is going to happen from this.]

( Sorry, Komaeda, you're stuck with all these friends now. )

That's a ganache. ( She prefer the Cactuar pastries just a little, but that flavour always reminds her of Snow, sweet and warm and comforting. ) You might want a napkin.

( Let her just go to grab one... )

Wait - I can get one [She's left.]......myself?

[That's so nice of her. He doesn't deserve it. He's not a fan of sweet things but regardless of flavour, it could be nice anyway. Besides, he'll accept any gift even if it's trash because that person was kind enough to give it to him - unless it's a spectre ring, gag ball or picture of the girl with the bear hairpin, of course]

( Well, she is the one offering. She should also be giving out napkins. And, carefully, Serah picks off her own ganache and puts the plate back on the table to eat the pastry with her own napkin hovering under her mouth to catch flakes of pastry and a big glob of the chocolate and cream swirl. )

Mmph... ( They really are just like the ones at home. It's almost eerie. )

Ah....thanks. [And he eats it, a little stunned. Sweet food is not his thing still but this is okay. He is still touched. Still.....why does this girl say that he's her friend?

Come to think of it, quite a few people have said that they are his friends and treated him kindly. Yusuke, Akira....just what is going on and is it going to cause terrible luck later?

Komaeda eats half of the pastry, not so much because he does not like sweets but because he barely eats much anyway and he wraps it in a napkin.]

Don't worry. I'll finish it later.

( Because you deserve friends, Komaeda. While a vague change in expression flickers over Serah's face at the half-finished pastry, she doesn't push for him to finish it. It's fine. People get hungry at different rates. She's left pastries plenty a time. )

So, what've you been up to?

( Since their last encounter. )

Well, I suppose I've been admiring how the city has been brought back from rubble. Wasn't it such a fantastic thing to witness?

[Well earthquakes aside.]

( Serah nods. )

Yeah. I've never seen anything like it before.

Neither have I. Well, I have seen pretty strange things [Like being magically transported from a school classroom to a tropical island by a magical rabbit.]. This is pretty amazing, though. So much hope being gathered together to conquer the despair of the city being destroyed! How beautiful! [He sighs in ecstasy as he thinks about all the hope of this event coming from despair.]

( That. Yeah. That sounds pretty weird. And this is coming from a time traveller. And while she isn't quite as... enthusiastic about the hope and despair thing, Serah gets what he means. It's a sign of everyone working together, and the promise of a brighter future. )

Working together... people can do great things. But I never imagined it would work like this.

( Maybe they should have organised their own tidying drive instead. But oh well. )

[Komaeda will frequently behave like that when he talks about hope, his favourite subject ever.]

Hmmm. It is pretty surprising seeing the whole place get rebuilt so quickly but I guess we can see it as a sign of how hard everyone worked, seeing how much power Hope has now?

( A nod. That's a good way of looking at it. )

He must be feeling a lot better.

He probably is. Everyone should congratulate themselves on what a wonderful job they've done! [Well he helped but he's not counting himself as among the people who congratulate themselves because 'trash like me doesn't deserve that'.]
