What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

( so something better suited for a home supply kind of store then. she isn't sure if the store where she found her paints will be it but, like julie, she does would not mind the company. it seems pryna and umbra certainly wouldn't mind the attention either as the younger of the two dogs circles around julie. )

That would be wonderful but... I have been doing quite well, I think. I am very lucky to have people from home here to help me.

[She doesn't waste any time in looping her arm through Luna's and awaiting her lead. There's no shyness on her part, and no timidity that comes from 'respect for the Oracle'.

Just two young women, walking around town.]

I'm kinda jealous.

( it's just so alarming... normal. for a moment, luna is stiff as if at a lost but soon enough she relaxes and holds her arm linked with julie's own. although she doesn't chuckle there is a smile that is rather hard to hide. )

Shall I introduce you to them? Noctis was my very first friend. ( her ONLY friend for such a long time. ) I wish my brother were still here though. I'd rather have liked for you to meet him.

Noctis?

[Ah, now there's a name she knows. They can take their time while they walk, and it's just...

Well, it's nice to have a female friend that she can hang around with like this.]

I think I met him. Black hair, blue eyes, kind of pretty?

( she dips her head suddenly, a hand coming to cover her both and (in vain) try to stifle her giggle. it only half helps. )

The very same, I believe! He and I have been friends since we were children but before coming here we had not actually seen one another in close to twelve years.

( you know... just quietly ignoring everything that was altissia and the events there. )

[Okay, so she was being a little under-generous with her description. Noctis was very pretty, and when she finds it's the same young man, she smiles and nods.]

Twelve years. Wow.

[Maybe the questions he has about that are better left unsaid.]

So you were like... penpals?

In a way, yes. We kept a notebook that we shared, Umbra carried it back and forth between us.

( the older of her companions gets a smile as he looks back at his name, sniffing slightly. )

We could not visit so this was the only way I could keep in touch with him.

No postal system? Phone calls? That kind of blows.

[Speaking from experience, that really blows. The last time she used an actual phone, aside from managing to call her father from the suburbs near the stadium what feels like forever ago, was probably around age ten.

Gently, she squeezes Luna's arm against her side as they walk.]

He's... not an ordinary dog, is he.

I am a captive of an empire that is at war with Noctis' kingdom. Although they have answered many of my requests, including allowing my home some limited autonomy, I very much doubt they would allow us. I could not stand the thought of them reading our letters either.

( because they would, especially if it meant learning more about lucis and its prince. ) But it suited us, I think.. to correspond as we did. There was nothing that made me happier than when Umbra returned with his response.

( her smile is warm yet there is a tinge of... something. sadness, perhaps but it vanishes just as quickly and she looks down to her companions at the question. )

He is a messenger, a divine being sent by the Astals, to help me. I am known to the people in my world as the Oracle, I am the bridge between mankind and the gods... their voice. Umbra and Pryna both are here to further help me deliver the will of the gods to the people of Eos.

[Her first reaction would be a 'pffft, what?' but those kinds of responses should be reserved for people that she knows are from her own world and for whom saying such things would indicate some kind of psychosis. Luna is not from Julie's world, and so she takes in what the woman says and bites back what would have been a reflexive, but no doubt slightly insulting reply.]

... So... [She says, chewing slightly on her lip before she goes on.] You're... some kind of really big deal back home, huh?

[And so is Noctis, it sounds like. And here Julie is, treating the woman like she's one of the common rabble.]
