Event Log: A Hope for the Future

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

► This log covers April 14th-April 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you get hit by levitating rubble or eat a food that wasn't meant for you, please let us know here.
glacius: (What's up?)

[Glacius tilts his head, scratching lightly at the scarred side of his jaw where one of his mandibles once attached.] Nnnot exactly, but I am well enough now, and that is what I choose to focus on.

[Dropping his hand now, the alien gestures to Rosen slightly, trying not to drag the general mood down.] Ah, but a garden! I have become familiar with them, as my partner keeps one of them himself. Watching him tend to it is quite peaceful and satisfying... wonderful really. Have you ever seen it? I am sure he would not mind you visiting. Lots of others seem to.

I am sorry to hear it

[His smile twists down into a worried frown, fret evident in the way his brow furrows]

Is there anything I could do to help?

[As for the question]

I have not, I am afraid. But I would be honored to see it. Back home I was quite an avid gardener
glacius: (It's alright.)

It has passed. I appreciate the offer, but you need not worry. [The ice alien offers a reassuring smile.] I was simply sick for a time, but with my partner's aid, I was able to recover.

Speaking of, I will be sure to reach out to him. He likes explaining and sharing with others, so long as they are respectful, and I haven no doubt that you will be. Have you met him before? His name is Carlisle Longinmouth.

I hope you know you don't ever have to hesitate to ask me should you need any help. But I am glad that you have recovered.

[He adds a nod for emphasis.]

My memory is not what it used to be [A somewhat joking smile as that's only partially true] but I believe I have exchanged a few brief words with him before. But nothing substantial. I'd certainly like to rectify that if I can.
glacius: (Gentle giant.)

Noted, thank you. [And Glacius truly is appreciative—it's just that he's a secretive being, one who does not like giving up information about his biology or being seen weak by most friends and acquaintances. Being sick involves both of those things, so he is extremely selective about who he goes to in such instances. It had taken him long enough to finally let Kate examine him, and the two of them had some history together.

Which isn't to say he'll never trust Rosen in such a matter, just that he needs more time to come to know the man, and that's what conversations like this are for. Glacius tilts his head ever so slightly, apparently pleased that he's at least aware of his partner.]
It can take him some time to open up, as I am sure is the case for most of us here. Just be respectful and capitalize on shared interests when you can. I'm sure he will appreciate your similar enjoyment of gardening, for one, and from there... well, I suppose you two will find out. You are both thoughtful and well-spoken, so that should serve you well.
