What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[she giggles and grins when he finds it there, plain as day. she's glad to see it there, it means that Barry and Lup have made progress in patching things up which she is completely in favor of. someone around here has to make love work and if it's two of her favorite people? even better]

Yeah, I can see that. Good.

Nothing I can't handle. [she rolls her eyes] The demon was acting so above it all. Who cares? I know what she really is and now so does everybody else. [she relaxes when he touches her shoulder] And, you're right. I do deserve that. [and for the first time in years, she does feel that she deserves it.

she takes his arm with a smile] It's my pleasure, Barry.

[Good. Yeah. Yeah, it is good. Barry meets Laura's grin with one of his own, giddy and soft. The contrast between the man smiling at her now and the man who nearly wept at the Speakeasy is astounding. It's clear how miserable he is without Lup.]

Good. Don't let anybody ruin yer night, okay? Who cares about a murderous demon on a night as nice as this?

[Oh heck yeah, dancing is on! Barry rises to his feet, taking a final gulp of his scotch before depositing it on the table. You're gonna have to finish eating some other time, Laura. Barry takes his dancing very seriously.]

Prepare t'have yer socks danced right off, ma'am.

[while Laura can't imagine putting so much of her happiness in the hands of one person, but it's clear that being close to Lup again brings him joy]

I shouldn't. [as if to convince herself] I don't. She's nothing.

[she can wait. it's been a while since she's been dancing with anyone besides herself. now's the time to dance.

she giggles] I'm prepared. Let's go.

Good! That's good. She's nothin'. [Whoever she is. Barry hasn't had the misfortune of meeting her yet.

Doesn't matter. What matters is what's about to happen - Barry offering his arm to Laura with a little bow, grinning at her as he asks her to dance.]

M'lady. [He chuckles. God, that sounds silly.] Off to th'dance floor we go.

Absolutely nothing. [she agrees. surely not everyone will fall victim to the demon's wiles, right?

she smiles at the bow and takes his arm once it's offered. he's so sweet]

My lord. [she makes it sound normal] Lead on! [she laughs happily]
