What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

( Kate's not sure she'd call it freely, when she considers the effort they all undertook to provide Hope with the power to do this. More that the poor sods making the effort for the gods to do these things are they themselves. )

Easiest run in a while.

( With everything being lifted into the air, it's a lot easier to hop from one building to the next, with fewer complicated detours around the destruction of the Null's attack. )

I imagine it's more entertaining than taking the stairs. [He lightly taunts, lightly squeezing her to his side before he finally lets her go.]

It appears the barrier has returned. [Much like the Wall, keeping them all safe. Ignis can at least respect Hope for that much.] Things are likely to get far quieter.

Want me to give you a lift next time?

( If they're taunting, two can play at that game, although Kate knows she wouldn't be able to carry him while springing through the air for that long. Not without exhausting herself.

Her expression shifts when Ignis mentions the barrier and the quiet. It's true, and it's been easier to forget her own lack of actual work to do when the monsters are keeping the clinic busier than before, but now--

The clinic will be quieter, and she'll have less to do. )

Aye. S'pose it will. ( On the other hand... ) Doubt it'll be that quiet. Gods still need to feed.

( And therefore they still need to be messed with )

Aside from that, of course.

[In terms of general monster activity, he does remember what it was like before, but he's grown used to things being far more active. There will always be the gods' little events, however, and one would think it would be more than enough to keep a person busy.

Ignis, though, is used to being very occupied, and may need to find a secondary hobby.]

I'm never going to get used to the idea of being a meal ticket for another being.

( Hobbies? In Hadriel? ...Well, there's always drinking.

A look of mild bemusement crosses her face at that because, at least in Kate's mind, it seems like someone who cooks as much as Ignis does should be quite used to providing meals for others. )

Says the chef.

[He gives her a long, steady look, lips pressed together even as the smallest smile fights to claim a corner.]

I am going to pretend that you didn't say that. [The young man tells her, one eyebrow briefly arching up.]

( Oh c'mon Ignis what is life in Hadriel if you don't make terrible jokes about your shitty position once in a while. And she sees the twitching of the corner of his mouth, enough to gently elbow him in the ribs instead of saying anything, a shrug rolling off her shoulders casually.

Hey, at least you had gods back home. She just thought the big man in the sky was bullshit started by people scared they couldn't explain anything. )

[He makes a soft sound when she elbows him, but doesn't react save for rolling his eyes slightly and shaking his head. At least they had gods back home...

Sure, but Ignis isn't sure how much he thinks of them these days.]

You understand what I mean.

I know.

( She's just teasing him, it's easy enough to do when she feels this comfortable around him. Like teasing any of her friends back home, really.

It feels like it's all happened so quickly, how easily he's slotted into her life, become one of the people she trusts and feels most comfortable around in Hadriel. How his presence beside her feels right, and that flutter of her heart happens again as she runs a finger across his jawline and leans up to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth. )

[The difference in height between them would make those small, surprise kisses difficult if Ignis didn't so willingly lean down to her whenever she wanted one. There's not been a time yet that he's refused her a kiss, and he allows the smile as she gives this one.]

Are you staying, or do you have somewhere to be?

( And she's had more than enough giants in her life to be grateful for the little things like the way he dips down to accept a kiss. Her hand curls around his forearm, squeezing lightly and briefly. )

Should get back to work. Unless you need me?

( Need can probably be interpreted loosely here. )

I'll survive, if you have to go.

['Need'? No. 'Want'? Far more likely. He kisses her again, very gently, one finger curled under her chin.]

( That simple touch of his finger is enough to make her want to stay just a little bit longer, indulging in gentle kisses and wrapping her arms around his neck, these tiny, unnecessary displays of affection that Kate would likely have continued shunning if it wasn't for him. Now, they're a common, small blessing in her day, comfortable apart from the way they make her heart clench in that not entirely unpleasant manner. )
