Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[ Aric supposes that he can understand that. He had endless years to spend alone in his Castle Lethe and he had spent a lot of time decorating and filling it with things but most of them were meaningless to him -- aside from the things that were the oldest. ]

There are some things here that are very difficult to find.

Yeah... and paint isn't exactly a lifesaving necessity item.

[But neither are mopeds and a lot of the things they can find here, so why should she have any trouble finding paint?]

I guess I can survive without it, but it's nice to just.. do something for the sake of it sometimes, you know?

I can understand that.

[ More than he is willing to admit. ]

You do not use that name anymore?

[ Aric asks, and in his usual M.O. he hesitates in telling others his name, always struggling to leave the identity of only being known as Death behind even after so much time between Eudio and now here.

Here, where even his wife knows his name -- a long and very irritating story. ]

No. I prefer Julie Cabernet.

[Grigio is her father's name, and using the surname Cabernet has been her little way of rebelling against him for some time now. He hates to hear other people call her by it, so she encourages its use.]

One day I'll change it officially, but there's not much call for notaries where I'm from.

Why Cabernet?

[ Aric questions with an appraising look. There are many reasons that notaries might not be needed and that doesn't appeal to his curiosity as much. ]

[She meets his eyes, holding his gaze for a few moments before sliding one bird-boned shoulder up and down in an almost-dismissive shrug.]

Always preferred red wine over white.

I suppose that's as good a reason as any.

[ Aric's not one to do much judging after all. Someone who has been best known by 'Death' for centuries doesn't have room for it. ]
