Event Log: A Hope for the Future

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

► This log covers April 14th-April 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you get hit by levitating rubble or eat a food that wasn't meant for you, please let us know here.

My dude, this is hardly a lecture. Just some friendly advice is all.

[But Nil's getting a Look for that last comment.]

So your only two options are "kill everyone" or "avoid the party completely"? You don't have like, a "normal human interaction" setting?

[He's being a little less-than-friendly now, but he thinks this dude is trying to jerk him around, so. Giving what he's getting.]

Where you come from must be very lively, if everyone enjoys attending parties as much as you do.

[There's no tension in Nil's voice at all. He isn't a man easily pushed to anything beyond 'mildly sarcastic' and even then, the things that he says always seem to come out as more 'matter of fact' than anything else.]

I've no use for occasions like this. They do, however, offer something for observation.

[Tucker frowns.]

Really? That's not what I meant. No, not everybody parties all the time. I'm just saying: you learn more about people when you interact with them.

[He puts his hands up in the universal gesture for surrender.]

But whatever, bro. You do you.

We all have our ways of learning about people.

[Nil, really, isn't the kind of person that most sane people would want to have learning about them. What Nil sees from up here isn't the personalities of the people he's observing, but the way each of them moves, the groups they travel in.

He had briefly made an appearance, but had found the experience to be too close and loud to want to stay any longer.

You've an interesting choice of meal.

[Tucker looks down at the deer leg in his hand. Ah, right.]

Choice isn't quite the word for it. I probably would've picked something a little less... I don't know, attention-catching? But whatever, it works.

[He takes a bite out of it, with teeth that go maybe a little too easily through meat.]

Ah. Someone forced it into your hand, then. How unfortunate.

[Is that humour? Well, there's got to be more to a person than just a guy who prefers sitting and watching people over mingling.]

It must be inconvenient to be so put upon.
