Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

Thank you, Rey. You're nice, unlike that dude... He can be so mean, I had forgotten...

[circumitus]

[Would you like a glass of water, kid? Because you're getting some water, once Rey returns from the kitchen with the trash can. She raises a brow.]

"That dude"? You mean the guy you talked about earlier who hates you?

[She's just going to sit down in Nick's easy chair since Atem's occupying her usual spot.]

[puzzlingly]

「Water sounds good but that'd need him to get up and that's probably not happening, barely trying to keep himself awake.」

Uh-uh. He's from home. I was a jerk too but, he deserved it; like that Mind Crush I gave him years ago, I thought he had changed... I just wanted him to smile a little, he's always so... angry...

「That Mind Crush thing probably sounds bad.」

[circumitus]

[Well, she's leaving it there for when he does inevitably need it.

[...And yes, "Mind Crush thing" does seem bad.]

Um, a "Mind Crush" doesn't exactly sound like something that would inspire much happiness in someone, so maybe you're doing it wrong.

[Blunt much, Rey? That's what she's here for.]

[puzzlingly]

「She's nearly not as blunt as Mr. Jerk, it's not effective!」

It meant to shatter the evil side of him, put himself together, be better... But he was angry at me for something, so I got angry too and I splashed a glass of wine in his stupid face... I felt good. But now it doesn't...

「He has closed his eyes by this point, just speaking for as far as he can now.」

[circumitus]

[Okay, at that Rey can't help but snort.]

You seriously threw wine in that guy's face?

Atem, that is not how you make someone smile. Maybe it does for me a little because I'm imagining it now, but I doubt that was your end goal.

[Just a thought.]

[puzzlingly]

Yeah... I did. He was angry at him.

「But now he just seems a little sad when he says that. And he already said that.」

I did what I had to do.

「And that's that.」

[circumitus]

[She snorts at that.]

What, you had to throw wine in his face?

[Come on.]

[puzzlingly]

「What? Oh yeah... that. Keep up with him, Rey!」

No, break his mind to little pieces, just like that... 「He raises her hand at her, palm open at her. talk to the hand!」 Ahhh... Nevermind, I can't show you.

「He snugs against Tripod a little more, goodnight.」

[circumitus]

[She's trying! Be more linear, bro-- and OH GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?]

You don't have to do that.

[Would it even work on her? Carlisle can't seem to use his compulsion abilities on Rey, so who knows what rules that extends to in the multiverse.

[She huffs.] Whatever, just to sleep. We can talk when you're sober.

[puzzlingly]

「No worries, it wouldn't work on anyone. Right now.」

Mrrr...

「Don't ask.」

[circumitus]

[Welp.

[Rey glances to Tripod, cuddled against Atem.]

You got this?

[The cylopean cat makes a tiny, muffled "wehhh" sound in response.

[Thumbs up. She slinks into Nick's easy chair.] Good.

[So long as Tripod doesn't drool or whatever on the kid, it should be okay. Hopefully.]
