What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

So how do you think they are faring in your absence?

[It probably makes no difference, no matter what this woman thinks. Arneth has dozens like her, perhaps hundreds, that wander the world, protecting the innocent. Or if not that, then at least fighting back the tides of nature and chaos for pay. Caedra knows a few personally. Nearly killed a few of them - would have, if the angel hadn't stopped her.]

The world goes on. Others stepped up. [At least, Jo assumes so. Dean and Sam didn't seem like they were lacking for help.

Jo doesn't seem too bothered by this answer. She's had plenty of time to adjust.]

Then I suppose you weren't making much of an impact.

[She smiles, perhaps a little too smug for someone with no personal involvement in any of it. Not yet, anyway. If other demons have found a way there from their Abyssal homes, then there's nothing stopping her and her companions from doing the same.]

But that's to be expected. Your kind come and go so quickly.

[Jo resists rolling her eyes. It's always true, isn't it? The bad guys can't handle not bragging about themselves in some way or another.]

We all make a difference.

Do you? It's rare the impact lasts much beyond the span of one of your lives. Hardly seems worth the trouble.

[Caedra shakes her head, amused and mildly annoyed at the shortsightedness of humans and their closest relatives, then pushes herself up to stand. The alcohol has mostly subsided, she'll be fine, she's just a little slower than she'd like.]

When you're so quickly replaced by others, why start at all? I hope here you're doing something fun instead. Enjoy the break.

Have you seen this place? It's not a break. [Jo shakes her head. Honestly.]

Each of us is special, even if you disagree.

I know what becomes of you mortals when you die. You're not special, you're not unique, and you're over in the blink of an eye.

[She smooths the wrinkles from her skirts, then gives Jo a little smile.]

Cattle never realize how short their lives are destined to be. At least your people can understand the concept, when you're not being willfully ignorant.

We go to heaven or hell. It's not that hard. [And Heaven is nice enough. Jo doesn't really miss it often, but she misses the peace.

She crosses her legs, still looking serious.]

We aren't cattle. No matter what you think, we are unique. We make differences. You don't decide that.

Oh, no, there are more options than those two. Well - I say options, as if you have a choice.

[Technically they do, sometimes. They make choices through their behavior that might influence things one way or the other, but the worlds outside the mortal planes all have their own systems of war, politics, and trade. It's fine if Jo doesn't realize, of course. Most mortals don't and it serves her kind just fine. The confusion between demon and devil, for instance - call one the other and you might be killed for the insult, but a human trying to bargain and choosing a demon out of ignorance is always a fun time.]

But you're right. I don't decide that, forces far greater than I do. It's simply the truth. Again, like livestock - they make choices. They have friends, probably. Maybe they even help each other. Does it make a difference to you, or your kings? I doubt it.

[Jo shrugs. Maybe their worlds are different. Maybe she doesn't know everything, and at this point, she could reluctantly admit that, but not to Caedra.]

Enjoy the feast. Don't kill anyone.

[Gosh how can you say that when she's been so good. She looks at Jo with a hunger in her eyes. The simrevi were a nice treat but they don't satisfy the way a living soul does.

A thing she seems unable to get here, sadly. Killing is still visceral and exciting, though.]
