Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[Jo watches the other woman for a moment, thinking back over some of their conversations.]

[immediately, Margaery feels that she's revealed too much and tries to retreat into her pleasant, pleasing persona]

What's there to be sorry for?

[She shrugs.]

None of us get what we really want, I think. Especially here. You're used to better.

...yes. And no. If it were better back home, I'd never have died.

[knifecollecting]

...Yeah. [God, Jo could practically hear herself say that too.]

Unfortunately, shit does happen.

[deaths while still young with your lives still ahead of you are the worst deaths]

I suppose it does. [forces herself back into good cheer] But I'm alive here and I'll be going to another world when all of this is done.

[Ah, a change of subject. Oh well. Jo looks up curiously.]

Matt's world?

Yes, Matt Murdock. He was here for a while and helped a great deal in the lead-up to the Null attack.

Yeah, I remember him. [She smiles.]

Sometimes people come back. Maybe he will.

I'm so glad to hear that.

Perhaps? I--try to not get my hopes up.

It's more power for the god taking care of us. [Whether or not it happens.]

I suppose so. Although, I don't think much of Hope as a person.

[knifecollecting]

Yeah? Why's that?

He was terribly rude to me and I'd only asked a few simple questions.

They're not the best at that.

[roseofthetyrells]

People in a position of power don't have the luxury of letting their tempers show in public. They should know better.

[knifecollecting]

I think it's important to remember that even those in power have feelings.

[roseofthetyrells]

Feelings, yes. Which are best expressed alone or with a trusted friend. Not to complete strangers.

[knifecollecting]

Are we strangers to them? They feed off of us.

[roseofthetyrells]

Feed, yes. Speak to? Rarely. Enough people already resent the so-called gods for feeding on us. Better to not make it worse by being rude.

[knifecollecting]

Yeah.

[Jo tries to give them the benefit of the doubt. It must be hard for them.]

[while Margaery was a Queen and is well aware of the demands power makes of you. and that it's rarely a good idea to display temper or rudeness to the public]

Hope should have curbed his tongue, at least until he was in private.

[knifecollecting]

I'd rather think they have emotions other than what they take from us.

[roseofthetyrells]

And I'd rather they conduct themselves like the leaders they unfortunately are. We have no choice but to live under their thumbs. The absolute least they can do is conduct themselves with dignity.

But I can tell that we won't agree on this, so I'll take my leave. Enjoy the remainder of the feast.

[and with that, she gets up and walks away]
