What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[Edgar takes another pepper just to be a show off. Though what he says next is enough to raise a curious eyebrow from him.]

Broken how? [He says as he eats pepper whole again. That honestly sounds quite lot like him. "Broken tongue", tasting only that's useful to him.]

[Michael just sort of gently closes the jar and puts it back under his arm. He doesn't want Edgar to eat them all, especially if it's not doing anything.]

I don't know, she just didn't really react to it. I kinda got distracted after that. You can ask her, if you want. Her name's Rita, I think. White hair, really pale.

[Like, even pale by white people standards.]

Ah her. I've seen her on a-- [He searches for the word a bit.] network, was it? She told me she'd want to sleep with a werewolf.

[Rita sure left a strong first impression, that is sure. Although now he's even more interested in her. At first he had thought her just to be adventurous, wanting to meet and sleep with the supernatural wasn't that rare after all, but this implies that she's not quite all that human herself.]

I suppose it's understandable. If you believe in monster like that.

Oh, yeah. The booty call thing.

[Honestly, he hadn't read much of it, but now he realizes he should not have been surprised at the way their interaction went.]

I don't think we have werewolves back home, but I wouldn't be shocked to learn that they're real somewhere. I mean we've got aliens and stuff here, so.

[He's not giving a comment on whether or not he'd sleep with one.]

At this point I think it's fair to say we're all aliens. [If they were going to stick to more traditional definition of an alien, that is.]

Although I have a feeling that's not what you meant. I've only been here for little bit over a month and seen plenty of strange things but nothing quite like that. I must say that it's exciting to be around all these monsters. If not dangerous.

I mean, you do have a point.

[About them all being aliens. This isn't anyone's world but the gods, and maybe not even them.]

If it makes you feel any better, the monster-people seem to cause less trouble than the human ones.

[With possible exception of aforementioned demon lady.]

[As someone who's been seen and called a heartless monster for centuries he has to admit that yes. Yes it does make him feel better. Even when he had been nothing but a small child, lost in woods with his infant sister, it had been the other vampires that saved him, warning him about the dangers of the humankind rather than beasts and monsters.

And weren't it humans who had killed his family later on.]

What about you, then? Are you one of the monster-people and eat such spicy peppers because of it?

Oh, uh, no.

[He has a monster in his head but that's not the same thing.]

I'm just human. With a higher spice tolerance. I hear that's genetic? So, uh, blame my mom, probably.

No? Ah, that's almost disappointing.

[He says even though his facial expression is completely opposite from being disappointed ]

We don't have monsters where I'm from.

Yeah, we don't where I'm from, either. So this is all pretty new to me.

[He's definitely lying, but listen. The Visitor, as far as he knows, is an anomaly. Which would mean monster singular.]

I'm sure if you ask around you'll meet some, though. A few of them are pretty open about it.

I wonder why that is.

[Being open is like the completely opposite of what he's doing his life.]

Do they have strong community between them or something that makes them open about it? In my experience humans in general aren't too into those who're different from the general public. If just appearances are enough to rile up people I wouldn't be surprised if being a monster would wake up good old fashioned mob lynch.

[That's what happened to him, at least.]

I would hope not. I think it's just that enough people around here have weird stuff of their own going on. Don't exactly have room to judge. As far as I know, nobody's ever tried to form a mob against, I don't know, Alphys or anybody.

[He's not entirely sure what Alphys is, but she sure isn't human. And so far, everyone seems alright with that.]

That's kind of them.

[Edgar turns to look at the blood bowl on the table next to them.]

History reveals that humans haven't been exactly kind to those who could pose a threat to them. I imagine some of the monsters here could be seen as dangerous.
