It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.
There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!
To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!► This log covers April 14th-April 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you get hit by levitating rubble or eat a food that wasn't meant for you, please let us know here.

[She looks back at him with a raised brow, baiting him to argue. A little tit-for-tat might get his mind off of the threatening shadows he saw around every proverbial corner.]
These people ain't hard to figure out. And some of those gods are at least pretendin' to be on our side. I don't know why they'd keep us here alive so long just to kill us all of with food poisonin'. I think they want us alive. Which might be more fucked up.

He again surveys the area, taking in as many faces as he can.]
We're batteries. [ Said factually, clearly something he's said before at some point to someone, and implemented it in his head as the most accurate descriptor of their situation.]
They need us around. Don't mean they won't fuck wit' us.
no subject
[They're stuck in a cycle of inaction, waiting for a window of opportunity so they can do something.]
They fuck with us plenty 'lready. People gettin' sick last month, that weird dreamin' shit. It's how they get what they want.

But, right now, there's this to deal with.
He makes a face and grunts in vague disgust.]
They can suck bags of dusty dicks.
[ With that, he rubs at his nose and gives the tables a look. So many different dishes, different smells, colors, shapes. So many things he can't identify, some that look less than food, sometimes.]
Still feelin' like a trap.
[ But that might just be his default paranoia.]

That and then some.
[The food looks good. She's not sure she trusts most of it, she's not sure she even knows most of it, but it's more than she's seen in her lifetime. That alone is a treat for the eyes. She watches people mill about, eating and enjoying themselves. She envies them. She's too wary to just dive in without staking it out first.]
If it turns out to be one, we'll run. You brought your blaster, right?
no subject
[ Right strapped to his thigh, on display, ready to use.
He walks along one of the tables, noticeably a stretch where not a lot of people seem to be sitting, giving the bowls and plates and displays of food the squinting glare of a suspicious old man.]
What even is this crap? Can't name half a' it.

[She gives the blaster a quick glance, a little jealous and a little glad. She's never really liked guns and she liked the way they made her feel holding them even less. But she still envies the boys for that feeling of security keeping one gave.
Girl turns her gaze back to the food.]
I dunno. It sure ain't dog food and smells better than anything I've ever been 'round. And some of it looks familiar. Like, that's some kind of noodle. Just stick to the stuff that we can recognize.
no subject
He leans over the take to look closer at plate of noodles and assorted vegetables. And some kind of sauce. It smells pretty good, good enough that he wants to call it fake.]
...think they magicked it, or someone got their hands dirty?
no subject
Maybe both? A guy I spoke to was wantin' to open a bakery and he relied on the wannabe gods to pull stuff for it outta thin air. And some folks seem to think if you make the right pacts with our overlords they'll hand things over in favor. We probably won't know unless someone starts talkin'.
no subject
He reaches over to faintly shake one of the bowls, for some reason.]
The clothes lady's one a' 'em.
[ He didn't really hate or even dislike talking with her. Fanciest person her's seen in years, but something about her felt a little relatable. Or maybe she was just nice and useful.]
Ain't gettin' my fingers in that mousetrap.
