Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

You've never met my brother Celegorm. [ Maglor says dryly ] That one was always happier outdoors than he ever was in!

I'm sure he is. I don't think I wold mind so much, I just never really learned how.

[bythewaves]

He was a bit of a wild one - always was! It's not quite the lifestyle I would have chosen.

[ Although it was the one that came to him, all the same ]

[swiftlet]

It is an unpredictable one. I think I prefer the stability of an inside home.

[bythewaves]

As do I! Although live on the road has it's charms, they do rather start to pale after the third straight day of rain. [ Said so very dryly ]

[swiftlet]

I think I must agree. Enthusiastically.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor laughs ]

You've had some experience I take it?

[swiftlet]

A little. I tried to rescue my father, once, only I didn't know they were keeping him elsewhere. I took two other hara with me who knew better, at least, how to survive.

[bythewaves]

[ That nets a soft, amused snort ]

Oh dear. I imagine the lessons were learnt swiftly, from necessity?

[swiftlet]

What i had time to learn, anyway. In many ways I was still a child, then.

[bythewaves]

To me, you still are! But if you want to learn Swift, you know my kinsmen and I are always happy to teach what we know.

[swiftlet]

I haven't been for a long time, but harlings grow up fast.

Thank you. I might need to take one or two of you up on that.

Just ask. [ Maglor promises ]

We're all of us happy to pass on what we know.

I do appreciate that. I should learn to do something useful while I'm here.

[ Maglor chuckles softly ]

'Useful' is debatable. But if one is learning, one is less likely to brood, which is the other reason I am knocking Seel around on the training fields.

[swiftlet]

I suppose I should say thank you for that, too, though please do try not to hurt him too badly.

[bythewaves]

I do my level best! He's doing well in that arena at least.

[swiftlet]

Good. I'm very glad to hear that. He hasn't been quite so...volatile lately, either.

[bythewaves]

I'm glad to hear that - even if it's only because I suspect he's too tired to try anything! But one step at a time.

[swiftlet]

He tries. I know he does. But I appreciate your efforts, regardless.

[bythewaves]

He's had some very bad lessons. [ Maglor says sadly ]

But he's young yet. You both are. There's time to relearn, and to do it better. And I think, more importantly, he wants to.

[swiftlet]

I don't feel young, and I'm sure he doesn't either. But if anyone can teach him something better, I'm all for trying. Ag knows I haven't been successful.

You're too close. [ Maglor shrugs ] There's things we'll allow teachers that we won't allow family, and vice versa.

[swiftlet]

That must be it. I wish that weren't the case, but at least you're here now.
