Event Log: Tears of Joy

What: The event log for the Tears of Joy event
Where: All over the city
When: April 21st-April 30th
Warnings: Lots and lots of regret

Sorrow's back! That's great, except for the sudden wave of sorrow and regret blanketing the city. And boy is it strong. It's hard to think about anything except all the times you've hurt someone, let someone down, failed. It's hard to get through your day while your mind is full of those thoughts, but you have to, right? Otherwise you might be letting someone else down.

Everything would feel a lot better if you could just find a way to make up for what you've done. A way to earn forgiveness. Do you deserve it? Maybe not, but if you can figure out the right thing to do, it won't matter - you'll make up for all the wrongs you committed and everything will be fine. So what will you do? Clean your friend's entire house? Hunt monsters and leave their heads at your ex's doorstep, like a particularly upsetting cat? Or is there something else even more drastic you can do?

Or maybe this isn't really affecting you at all - but someone else feels like they've wronged you, and they want to make it up to you. Are you going to take advantage of this? Pretend it's not happening? You do still feel kind of annoyed by that thing they did that time...

Funny thing about that... "My ally's crew has a cyborg member," Law says, a bit thoughtfully. "He maintains himself, refused my medical treatment because he didn't need it. I'm sure he'd be able to assist Nick-ya, or anyone else."

That would be a hell of a twist, wouldn't it? Franky going from being one of a kind to having a couple of friends to tinker with. Since the technology already exists, it wouldn't be unleashing anything terrible into the world.

Well, now that he's just made it sound more promising, Rey can't help but smile slightly in spite of the melancholy in the air.

"That would be interesting," she admits. And then, before she can just end it there: "Might not be dead back in my world, but the prospect of being cut open and torn apart again and again doesn't sound very appealing to return to."

"No, I would imagine not."

Whether or not it can be made to happen, well, there's no way to know yet. Law plans to make every effort to end this ordeal with the greatest quantity of benefits in their own pockets, aiming high with the hopes of being content with whatever they end up getting. So long as it's better than death.

He doesn't have much more to say, and he's eyeing his empty glass, knowing he shouldn't have more. But Rey's good company, so even if they don't talk, he'll probably hang out a bit. And pet Tripod. If he goes back to his place, he's just going to wallow in Sorrow's aura and grieve for his past all over again.
