INTRO LOG: FACE OFF

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for November. Don't get your face eaten!
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: November 10th-17th
Warnings: Monster-related violence, people lamps, general unpleasantness, mass confusion.

You wake up on the hard earth of the colosseum. By the state of things and the various aches and pains in your body, you've probably been passed out there for awhile. A few things should immediately become clear to you upon an initial assessment.
1. You're not alone
2. You're near other people who look to be in a similar state.
3. You're also near an assortment of human shaped lamps.
4. You're also near something that skitters off into the shadows of the colosseum.
Of all of these alarming things, the skittery object might be your largest concern. Be wary when turning corners or shutting out the lights: the Hunters work best when your vision is obscured, so their gelatinous form is even harder to spot. Their main goal will be to kill people of course, though they prefer to hide in corners and smaller rooms. Watch out when trying to work through the halls of the colosseum to find the outdoors- they're surprisingly quick, and they prefer to kill their prey by opening their face-flaps and wrapping their mouths around your head. Fun!

More information on Hunters can be found here!

Second largest concern? Maybe it's the people lamps. Maybe it's the actual people around you. Whatever it is, be sure to familiarize yourself with it quickly. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't, after all.

All done with the horrible monsters and awkward greetings? Try your hand at exploring the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies until your little heart is content. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers November 10th-17th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well!
► All characters now arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[Rainier pretty much exclusively refers to her by her title. He's also not sleeping with her though, Cullen Stanton Rutherford.]

Instant communication. No need for messenger ravens. There's a boy here who showed me how to use it. I wasn't about to ask Dorian.

[Because Rainier also thinks they're either Magic or Dwarven Shit, and the kid who showed him is clearly not a dwarf so the obvious thought is this means Adam must be a mage of some kind.

He is ironically correct although for entirely the wrong reasons.]

[ that does not merit the full name treatment, ok. ]

Would Dorian even be familiar with this kind of magic?

[ if none of them have seen anything like it before, it would stand to reason dorian would need time to figure it out, right? right. ]

[Says u bro.

Rainier's face sours a bit at the question.]

You're welcome to ask him. If it's magic I don't see why he wouldn't be.

[Rainier would only bring it up to gloat that he didn't need Dorian's help with it. The two aren't as at odds as they seem, but the sniping is familiar ground to tread in all this chaos. If he can't have Solas at his back again, Rainier is relieved to have Dorian as their local mage.]

... When'd you get a mabari?
smited: (this sounded much better in my head.)

[ :T

and he'll just carefully sidestep around that little interpersonal conflict by not saying anything else about dorian. ]

Just before the Exalted Council. [ he looks back at the dog, then at rainier. ] Two years in your future, if you're from the same time as the Inquisitor.

[ and isn't that weird. ]

Do I even want to know what an Exalted Council was called for two yeas in the future?

[The whole thing sounds like a headache even before you mix in the politics. Two years..]

Probably not. It's all politics and posturing.

[ if the look on his face didn't make it clear enough, he thinks it's all ridiculous. ]

That definitely sounds like a council, alright.

[Rainier has nothing but the deepest respect for certain politicians, like Josephine. He understands the need for such things while simultaneously having no taste for it himself.]

Is the Inquisition in trouble, or causing it?

[ cullen thinks about that for a moment. ]

It would depend on who you ask. I would say neither--we've done nothing wrong and Ambassador Montilyet has things well in hand. She might give you a different answer, though.

For all that she can work magic when it comes to dealing with nobility she seems to expect the worst from it.

[There's still a warm fondness in Rainier's voice even at the words. Even if there's nothing there, he does like her. She's got a warmth and kindness to her that doesn't often grow with the nobility.]

Did she arrive here by chance? I haven't seen her.

[Please say no, Cullen, this is no place for Josie.]

No, thank the Maker.

[ both because this is definitely not a place for josie and because they need her back home. ]

I believe Warden-Commander Surana and I were the only ones from Thedas to arrive recently.

[ which is mildly awkward for him. mostly because now there is someone around who remembers him as a gangly, stuttering teenager. ]
