INTRO LOG: FACE OFF

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for November. Don't get your face eaten!
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: November 10th-17th
Warnings: Monster-related violence, people lamps, general unpleasantness, mass confusion.

You wake up on the hard earth of the colosseum. By the state of things and the various aches and pains in your body, you've probably been passed out there for awhile. A few things should immediately become clear to you upon an initial assessment.
1. You're not alone
2. You're near other people who look to be in a similar state.
3. You're also near an assortment of human shaped lamps.
4. You're also near something that skitters off into the shadows of the colosseum.
Of all of these alarming things, the skittery object might be your largest concern. Be wary when turning corners or shutting out the lights: the Hunters work best when your vision is obscured, so their gelatinous form is even harder to spot. Their main goal will be to kill people of course, though they prefer to hide in corners and smaller rooms. Watch out when trying to work through the halls of the colosseum to find the outdoors- they're surprisingly quick, and they prefer to kill their prey by opening their face-flaps and wrapping their mouths around your head. Fun!

More information on Hunters can be found here!

Second largest concern? Maybe it's the people lamps. Maybe it's the actual people around you. Whatever it is, be sure to familiarize yourself with it quickly. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't, after all.

All done with the horrible monsters and awkward greetings? Try your hand at exploring the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies until your little heart is content. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

"Long enough to have a place to crash." He shrugged. By the looks of things, the Doc had had long enough to get his place spotless to boot, maybe it was just him, but cleaning took forever. How long was 'long enough' for him, he didn't specify. Sure, he didn't want to stay in Cave Country, but considering what he'd just left...well, that was more tricky and too much to think about right now. It did mean he'd be better off finding somewhere to rest his head for a little while.

"Alright." He smiled back and headed off towards the spires. "My name's Mike, by the way, what's yours?"

Yeah, Z didn't like the sound of that. She wrinkled her nose just long enough to convey as much. "If we're gonna be stuck here that long, I hope there's somewhere to do laundry. I don't mind taking things that are lying around, but I like having a clean uniform." SPD regulations required it, actually, if she hadn't just come back from the field.

"Call me Z." She shot Mike a friendly smile as she fell into step next to him. "Were you yanked in here from the middle of something really important too? I'm helping fight off an alien invasion." Friendly conversation was ... weird. And by now she'd crossed paths with enough people to know that, for all that the Power Rangers were all but legendary where she's from, not a lot about them was known outside of their immediate area.

Mike laughed and there wasn't near as much disbelief in it as there would have been twenty-four hours before. Alien invasion, sure, he could accept that along with Native American curses and cave cities with monsters, why not? "No, not really. I mean, there was something important but I think my time dealing with it was pretty much up."

Blowing yourself up would do that. But he liked to think that spelled the end of the wendigos and their threat on his friend's lives, so it wasn't necessarily something he regretted either. He would have liked to have seen his twentieth birthday, but maybe he'd just have to have it here.

"How was that going for you? Were you winning?"

"I hope that means you were finished doing what you had to." Because there are possibilities to a phrase like that, that she would rather not think about. Or maybe it was just the way he said it that sounded... well. In any case. Here they were.

"We're not losing." She shrugged. That was... about the truth. They hadn't made much progress, but they also hadn't let Gruumm make progress. No matter who he sent out, no matter how hard he tried, the Rangers were there. "We're not winning, either, but we're not losing. That's the important part." That was what she kept telling herself, anyway. With her gone, though-- "Who knows, maybe this place will give me some secret weapon so we can finally win."
