INTRO LOG: FACE OFF

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for November. Don't get your face eaten!
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: November 10th-17th
Warnings: Monster-related violence, people lamps, general unpleasantness, mass confusion.

You wake up on the hard earth of the colosseum. By the state of things and the various aches and pains in your body, you've probably been passed out there for awhile. A few things should immediately become clear to you upon an initial assessment.
1. You're not alone
2. You're near other people who look to be in a similar state.
3. You're also near an assortment of human shaped lamps.
4. You're also near something that skitters off into the shadows of the colosseum.
Of all of these alarming things, the skittery object might be your largest concern. Be wary when turning corners or shutting out the lights: the Hunters work best when your vision is obscured, so their gelatinous form is even harder to spot. Their main goal will be to kill people of course, though they prefer to hide in corners and smaller rooms. Watch out when trying to work through the halls of the colosseum to find the outdoors- they're surprisingly quick, and they prefer to kill their prey by opening their face-flaps and wrapping their mouths around your head. Fun!

More information on Hunters can be found here!

Second largest concern? Maybe it's the people lamps. Maybe it's the actual people around you. Whatever it is, be sure to familiarize yourself with it quickly. The devil you know is better than the devil you don't, after all.

All done with the horrible monsters and awkward greetings? Try your hand at exploring the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies until your little heart is content. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

"Mike. To be honest, if anyone's got better experience than slapping a band-aid on something, then that'd help." He didn't have enough band-aids for what he suspected he needed. "Thanks for helping me, by the way. Is this thing normal? Wherever the heck we are?" He gestured toward the coliseum he'd come from for emphasis.

He got the feeling this guy wasn't a native or anything, but he'd clearly been here longer and that counted for something.

Noah is perfectly confidant in Bruce's ability to help (and his own ability to, uh, get Mike there).

He purses his lips a bit in a frown and looks to the coliseum when Mike gestures to it, giving a little tired sigh.

"I don't know. I guess? It's happened twice so far. I was with the first group." Noah nods in the direction of the clinic, beginning to lead the way at a sedate pace so Mike doesn't get lost or turned around. Being a guide is no good if you just get people lost in the process.

"Were there bears when you showed up? There were bears when I showed up. Big... spikey bears."

Twice didn't necessarily count as normal, but it counted as...something. Odd, at least. Something to keep an eye on.

He follows along easily enough, his movements were careful, but not too hampered to not keep up; as long as he didn't twist his back or look anywhere too quickly, he was fine. The comment about the bear, though, reclaims his attention.

"Definitely not bears. These things were...weird. Like, alien-looking weird. Their faces opened up like flaps and had a bunch of teeth and you can basically see through them. And to top it off, shooting it doesn't help, so I don't recommend trying it." He glanced over to Noah. "How long ago was that 'first group?'"

Noah has to shudder at Mike's description of the weird alien things he ran into.

"That's creepy." he says in response to those, first. Like, just to make that shit clear. "Um, I think it was like... 30 days ago or so, give or take? I don't keep good time."
