Intro Log: DIY Survival
What: The intro log for July
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-14th
Warnings: Who's that Pokémon?
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-14th
Warnings: Who's that Pokémon?
You wake up on an alien planet. All around you are things that might be familiar- rocky ground, stone columns of a colosseum, overcast and dreary clouds above- but there's a lingering doubt in the back of your mind that you're not where you should be. Nearby, there are a dozen or so other people going through the same thing, so maybe you can stop and say hello... or, if you're more of an antisocial type, you might sneak away before anyone takes special notices of you.
Be careful of sneaking too far though, because you may run across an unfriendly Kabutops! From the Pokémon franchise, Kabutops is a prehistoric creature with scythes for hands that can cut through the water (and human flesh) like it's nothing. Its skin is rough and difficult to penetrate with basic weapons, and contrary to what anyone canon-savvy may expect, they are impossible to tame- so you might try to run while you can.
If you manage to escape from the pointy dinosaurs, you may find some hip new ways to accessorize! Strewn about the ground with the new arrivals are an assortment of bedazzlers in various states of functioning! They may only have two stars on Amazon, but Bedazzlers are a cultural landmark, easily used to bling up your lifestyle! Alongside the various equipment are, of course, various studs, gems, sequins, rhinestones, and anything else that you could possibly attach to some clothing or hand towels or curtains or underwear with a Bedazzler kit. Happy crafting!
If you've finished collecting all you need for your new home decoration, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers July 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Not that he's opposed to killing people, he's killed lots of them, some in horrible ways. But people with information you need are better off being tortured and broken than simply killed. Not to mention he's still not a hundred percent sure he believes her. She's wandering around with a sword, and has eyes that make her look like some sort of demon. Not exactly the paragon of trust.
"What... is the thing? Is it an object?"

Plus that little Null, still hiding somewhere in the city. She ought to break that thing too - but not yet. Not while it's still providing information, far more than the false gods ever did. She'll let it live for that purpose, and then destroy it once she has her way out, just to see all of its guardians cry over their broken metal pet.

And that's assuming he's gonna buy the whole sucked into another world theory.
"You sure they're not lying? I wouldn't tell prisoners how to escape my prison either." He pauses and looks away. He actually has done exactly that. Even led them out of the prison himself.
Okay maybe he's not the best example, but he's also not claiming he's a god. "At least they know what it is. Might be a better idea to capture them. Make them tell you what they know."

She's one of the ones who they'd send back, if they could. Nobody in their right mind would want one of her people around, to sow discord and spill blood when they're trying to get things done. The thought actually makes her smile, just a little, out of contempt for those poor assholes.
"It's all a fluke. One of them, Fear, activated it somehow and they don't know how to control it. Stop arguing in their favor - you haven't met them, and you don't know how completely useless they are," she scolds, quickly losing patience. But this guy clearly isn't the most level of the newcomers, given her introduction to him and his fake gemstones a few moments ago.

Personally he thinks the plan: kill them and sort it out later, is not a very effective one. Usually that ends up killing people you find out you could have used or critical to some step of the process. But he has a hunch she's one of those people who kills just to be killing, so there's not really any point in reasoning with her.
"So now that I'm here... What am I supposed to do?"
no subject
She knows what she would prefer, of course, but she has no real desire to attempt to control these people into doing that. That's just too much work. They'll sort themselves into useful and not-useful groups through their own actions, and she'll deal with them then. The number of useless ones here, who want to make this place into some sort of home and just take things day by day is remarkably high, but that's all these people ever do no matter where they are or what threats face them. It's a wonder they've made it so far, humans and their kin - must just be all that breeding they do.

"You're talking big picture stuff. I'm mean more like... food. Sleeping." But mostly food, he's got maybe two more days in him before his legs actually stop working from lack of nurishment.
He's backing away though, looking around for himself, because he's not expecting her to be helpful in any way. There's still the threat of her killing him and he seriously needs to find a safe place to hide.
And bedazzle more things.no subject
As someone who doesn't need to eat or sleep, Caedra even managed to figure out quickly enough where these people bother to do that. She has no desire to help him. But, well - she can throw a wrench in things.
"I wouldn't recommend fishing, though. There's a big ocean out there, but what won't eat you instead is poisonous. Alien species, you know. Not something your system can tolerate." She gives an apologetic smile. "I guess that's the one warning you get."

Montana is not known for its coastline.
Fishing hadn't even occured to him, the tools he had on him were not made for fishing and he wasn't going to catch one with his hands. But food, while probably the most pressing issue, is about to take a backseat to seeing an ocean. Just like it got set aside for the importance of arts and crafts time.
He is a man who has clear priorities.

A meandering insect-like creature - the same kind, by the looks of it - has spotted them and seems to be headed their way. Caedra hefts her blade, but seems unconcerned for now. The creatures die easily, and don't have any way to reach beyond the length of their bladelike arms.
"Might want to be quick about it," she suggests.
no subject
Of course that means he has to walk away from Caedra. Which means turning his back on her unless he backs up all the way out of the coliseum and he's not going to do that. He doesn't have much pride left, but that's showing he's afraid, that he's weak. So instead he backs up a little bit further, out of sword lunging distance, before turning and heading in a random direction out of the arena.
He's on high alert to be stabbed in the back, listening for footsteps to indicate she's following.

Wouldn't it be funny to cripple him and let that meandering creature finish him off? That sounds like a fun idea. Finally, she grins as she raises a hand and slings a bolt of pure blackness, trailing twisting strands of energy through the air. She has hurled it at his leg - a risky shot, easily missed even with her excellent aim. Especially if he picks up the pace.
"Better be faster than that!" she exclaims cheerfully.

And that's his cue to fucking book it, doesn't even look back at her. He can run surprisingly fast for someone lugging a huge gun and a sledgehammer, though there is something off about his gait. He'll be a bit harder to hit with his wonky, serpentine running, which isn't intentional, he's just overexerting muscles that are running on empty.
