Intro Log: DIY Survival
What: The intro log for July
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-14th
Warnings: Who's that Pokémon?
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-14th
Warnings: Who's that Pokémon?
You wake up on an alien planet. All around you are things that might be familiar- rocky ground, stone columns of a colosseum, overcast and dreary clouds above- but there's a lingering doubt in the back of your mind that you're not where you should be. Nearby, there are a dozen or so other people going through the same thing, so maybe you can stop and say hello... or, if you're more of an antisocial type, you might sneak away before anyone takes special notices of you.
Be careful of sneaking too far though, because you may run across an unfriendly Kabutops! From the Pokémon franchise, Kabutops is a prehistoric creature with scythes for hands that can cut through the water (and human flesh) like it's nothing. Its skin is rough and difficult to penetrate with basic weapons, and contrary to what anyone canon-savvy may expect, they are impossible to tame- so you might try to run while you can.
If you manage to escape from the pointy dinosaurs, you may find some hip new ways to accessorize! Strewn about the ground with the new arrivals are an assortment of bedazzlers in various states of functioning! They may only have two stars on Amazon, but Bedazzlers are a cultural landmark, easily used to bling up your lifestyle! Alongside the various equipment are, of course, various studs, gems, sequins, rhinestones, and anything else that you could possibly attach to some clothing or hand towels or curtains or underwear with a Bedazzler kit. Happy crafting!
If you've finished collecting all you need for your new home decoration, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers July 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

He stops just short of her and interrupts, sounding slightly sheepish.]
Perhaps you should be a little quieter when you talk about the Metaverse, Makoto...
no subject
[She's up on her feet before she can register that warning, flinging herself at him in a hug. While she wasn't afraid to be alone, more could be accomplished with her friends here. They could at least make sense of this place.]
I didn't see you at the arena! Did you just wake up here too?
[Only then does she realize how vocal she was being about the Metaverse. 'Like Ryuji', she thinks ruefully.]
If this is the metaverse, there's no point in keeping quiet about it. If it's not, then that means we're somewhere else entirely and they might not have heard of the Phantom Thieves here.
no subject
It's good to see you, Makoto. [He then lets go, adding,] This might seem strange to you, but I've been here for many months now, as has Akira...
[Which sounds outlandish, but then again, being part of the Phantom Thieves means learning to accept strangeness, doesn't it? Perhaps this will be easier to explain than he thought.]
Ah, but please don't go around telling people about the Metaverse. The Phantom Thieves may be unknown here, but it would be best we remain that way, lest we make enemies here, too.
no subject
What do you mean months?
[No, she doesn't need that clarified. She knew that time could sometimes move differently. Sometimes they were in the Metaverse for hours and come out as though they never really left.]
Right. [It's not an error that she really intended to make. It wasn't as if any of them had been very good at being discreet, considering how often they were blackmailed (herself having done it too). But here she was, like Ryuji, blabbing away.]
Akira is here? What about Ann and Ryuji? Morgana?
no subject
[He sounds a bit weary as he says it, too; Hadriel has done plenty lately to chip away at his nerves. Even being away from all the difficulties they had at home, the city comes with plenty of its own.]
Ann was here when I first arrived, but she has long since returned. Perhaps she'll come back someday -- Akechi certainly did, after his disappearance.

[There were still things to do in Japan. Shido couldn't be ignored and they still needed to secure the route through his palace. If there was a way out of here, she was going to find it.
Her face soured.]
Akechi is here?
no subject
[That sour expression isn't lost on him, so he adds--]
For the record, I'm no happier than you are about Akechi being here. But he has been, by and large, peaceful and cooperative. His goals reside in our world -- it works to his benefit to cooperate with us for now.
no subject
[She doesn't know why she's asking that question. It seemed fairly straightforward. The lack of answers on how to fix it was frustrating.]
He might not be a threat to us now, but how long until that changes? What if something happens to shift that? We know what sort of person he is and however he might act now, we know who he really is.
no subject
[It's unfortunate, but it's one of the many realities they've had to learn to accept in Hadriel. There's no way to change that.]
We dealt with Akechi before, and we can outsmart him again. I trust both you and Akira in that regard, as I hope you can trust me.
no subject
[Unless there was something else they could do. Did these so called gods even control that part of returning home?]
Of course I trust you. It would be a good idea to keep an eye on him, if he does start planning something, we'd at least know.
[Even if it means that she has to be around Akechi.]
no subject
[He pauses, wondering how best to phrase this.] Well, he and Akira seemed to have something of a fight recently, thanks to the gods' influence. They later made amends, Akira saying the fault lay with him and not Akechi. I won't go as far as to say they're on amiable terms now, but they... reconciled, in a way.
[As much as one can reconcile with one's almost-murderer, he supposes? It's difficult to explain, and not a situation Yusuke fully understands himself, given that he's still wary of Akechi.]
