Intro Log: DIY Survival

What: The intro log for July
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-14th
Warnings: Who's that Pokémon?

You wake up on an alien planet. All around you are things that might be familiar- rocky ground, stone columns of a colosseum, overcast and dreary clouds above- but there's a lingering doubt in the back of your mind that you're not where you should be. Nearby, there are a dozen or so other people going through the same thing, so maybe you can stop and say hello... or, if you're more of an antisocial type, you might sneak away before anyone takes special notices of you.

Be careful of sneaking too far though, because you may run across an unfriendly Kabutops! From the Pokémon franchise, Kabutops is a prehistoric creature with scythes for hands that can cut through the water (and human flesh) like it's nothing. Its skin is rough and difficult to penetrate with basic weapons, and contrary to what anyone canon-savvy may expect, they are impossible to tame- so you might try to run while you can.

If you manage to escape from the pointy dinosaurs, you may find some hip new ways to accessorize! Strewn about the ground with the new arrivals are an assortment of bedazzlers in various states of functioning! They may only have two stars on Amazon, but Bedazzlers are a cultural landmark, easily used to bling up your lifestyle! Alongside the various equipment are, of course, various studs, gems, sequins, rhinestones, and anything else that you could possibly attach to some clothing or hand towels or curtains or underwear with a Bedazzler kit. Happy crafting!

If you've finished collecting all you need for your new home decoration, you can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

I think I've been pretty quick so far, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Now, when you say crazy, like what does that mean, what kind of stuff happens?

Sometimes stuff shows up. Sometimes things disappear. The gods manipulate emotions, so you can't always help what you feel.

[She's being so encouraging.]

[Right like Peter feels so encouraged right now]

I mean, that all sounds more annoying than anything else? If that's the worst it gets, maybe this won't be too bad.

It's not. [She says it very calmly.]

There are robot aliens after the gods.

[itsnotaonesie]

[Is it bad that he actually perks up at that, because it's the first badass sounding thing he's heard so far.]

Okay, that... that sounds less annoying and more super dangerous. Why are there robot aliens after them?

[knifecollecting]

The gods make them feel? They don't like that.

[That seems to be the biggest thing.]

Because of the whole emotion powers thing, right? Is that really the only problem the robots have with them?

[knifecollecting]

That seems to be it. A lot of people and lives have been lost.

[itsnotaonesie]

Holy crap.

[Well the whole alien robot thing just became a lot less badass, damn.]

So, wait, the robots are coming after everyone else too?

[knifecollecting]

[Jo nods.]

They've already attacked the city once.

[itsnotaonesie]

Do you think they'll come back? Is this place even equipped to handle something like that?

[knifecollecting]

We weren't equipped last time. [Even as she says it her stance shifts slightly, shoulders square and back straight.]

There's always a chance they'll find us again. [Without Delight's help it might take a longer amount of time, but Jo's not going to say it couldn't happen again.]

[itsnotaonesie]

Do you think we'll be ready if they do? Can't say I've ever fought off a robot invasion before.

[It doesn't really sound quite as bad as some of the stuff he has fought before, but still.]

[knifecollecting]

I hope we will. [This is, probably the thing she hopes for the most.]

They take bullets pretty well.

Is there anyone like, I dunno, training people on how to fight them or anything? What's the set up like here?

I don't really know much about guns, but I'll take your word for it.

[knifecollecting]

There's no formal training. People offer, sometimes, but I think most of them are gone. [She might look into that, offering herself instead of just helping others.]

Guns won't help, so that's fine. They're made of metal. It's hard to take them down.

[itsnotaonesie]

That's not super encouraging. [Not that he really needs any weapons to fight shit, but there are a lot of other people here who could probably use it, he's sure.]

How did you guys fight them last time?

[knifecollecting]

[Jo nods in agreement with that first statement. It's not the best of circumstances.]

If you can hit the weak point, bullets will stop them. Explosives work. It was hard. [She honestly doesn't quite know how it worked out in the end. She was dead for that part.]

[itsnotaonesie]

I'm sure it was, if they've all got metal plating and stuff. Did anybody like, take notes on these things? Like research them really good?

[knifecollecting]

I don't know about that. [Well...She continues a moment later.]

I'm sure someone has, but I'm not involved.

[itsnotaonesie]

No biggie, I can always try asking around once I get my whole... like, situation figured out.

[Ah, the fun of settling in. Jo is always bittersweet thinking about her arrival. She was glad to have Dean.

It was hard to lose him.]

[So far it hasn't been super fun, but it could be a lot worse. Probably.]

Understandable. [She jumped to "what are you doing without clothes?" The names were unimportant.]

You're on an island. There are some boats to get to the others in the city, but you might have to wait.

Now, do you mean like a ferry, or are we talking little row boats?
