The morning of April 15th in Hadriel is cheerful, with artificial light streaming through your window. Your blankets are warm, jabberjays are shrieking, and you're probably going to experience a murder attempt today.
Maybe it'll be from a stranger, maybe it'll be from a friend, but the bottom line is that everybody is after somebody and nobody is safe (...okay, twelve people are safe, but that's beside the point). Time will only tell when you'll be overcome by that murderous rage and try to kill someone else. The best thing you can probably do at this point is stay calm, keep your head high, and try not to die for the next eight days.
Helpfully, Rage will have restocked her armory for the event, for those of you have yet to arm themselves. Additionally, for a limited time only, the armory will be stocked with bear traps, tripwire (in both 'general wire' and 'barbed wire' flavor), and voice recorders. Use all of them, use none of them, just get on out there and kill each other!
Oh, and one last thing...► This log covers April 15th-23rd.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► Did your assassin catch up to you? Please remember to hit up our death post!

—Oh, Chris! [ She laughs softly as the sudden stress dissolves. ] Hey. If I knew you wanted to visit the armory, I'd have asked you to come with me.
[ It would have been a much more enjoyable walk together (and she wouldn't have to worry about being caught alone by the jerk with the sword). ]

[Even though he'd expected she would be; they're all jumpy enough normally, let alone when something like this is going on. He offers her a small smile as he steps further into the building, closer to her.]
That's okay, it was kind of just spur-of-the-moment I guess. I'm not even like, totally sure I want anything out of here.
[Even if he does plan to look for a knife. But right now he's more curious about what Ashley's here for, and what she put in her bag.]
Looking for something specific?
no subject
I wasn't, but look what I found: trip wires. [ She carefully places that, too, into her bag, and then picks up another. She's clearly got plans. ] It's not something cool like a fire trap, but I bet it'll catch an intruder off guard if they break into our place, right?
no subject
[He picks up another one himself to get a better look at it, frowning a little in thought. Not a bad idea at all, actually, even if he might be pretty sure he's going to get caught in one himself.]
Yeah. I think you're right; I mean, especially as like, a warning system or something. It could scare someone off and give us a chance to react without really hurting them.
[Because as much as he'd love to safeguard their house with fire traps, there's just so much that could go wrong there.]
no subject
That's what I was thinking! [ She exclaims, clearly excited that Chris' thought process followed her own. ] It might just be enough to keep us a little bit safer. I wish there was something we could do about the windows, though...
no subject
And he considers that last comment a few moments.]
Maybe just set up the tripwires across the window, but on the inside? They'd be hard to see through the glass, and even if they were noticed they might make getting through the window annoying enough for whoever it is not to bother.
no subject
Chris, that's a great idea. [ It could get a little complicated given the general shape of the windows (gosh, round windows are cute but a bitch to work with), but it's not like they can install ADT or something. ] That means we're gonna need... [ She chews her lower lip, brows drawn down in concentration. ] If we're doing one wire per window, we'll need at least six more.
no subject
Okay, lets see what we can find.
[This place is just full of crazy stuff, and he wanders off to the side to look for more tripwires.]
no subject
But that makes them even more perfect. Hopefully, any jerk who dares try to break in to their place gets tangled before they can hurt any of them. ]
How many have you found, Chris? [ She calls after him, and then grumbly mumbles. ] I wish Rage had a neater filing system for things.
[ Or people put things back where they found them. That's one of the reasons the shops are such a mess all the time, and it takes all the mental power in her to keep from organizing those messes. ]
no subject
Yeah, no kidding, though maybe making people trying to find things in here angry works for her.
[It'd make some weird sense.]
But I've got two more; how about you?
no subject
Ugh, and I've only found two, too—[ She makes a face, and then: ]—as well. [ It just didn't sound right. ]
no subject
Okay, well, four more's better than like, none more. That means each of us needs another one, and they're probably somewhere stupid.
[If he was an either very disorganized or very petty god, where would he put a tripwire? He glances around, scanning the room, then looks up.]
Huh. There's one hanging from the ceiling.
[But it's too high to reach, even for him, so they might have to improvise.]
no subject
Oh my gosh, Chris, this is ridiculous! [ How the hell are they going to get it down? She picks up a heavy shield. ] Do you think we should throw things at it?
no subject
[He'd offer--with some ridiculous blushing and stammering no doubt--to just lift her up toward it, but he's pretty sure his knee wouldn't allow that and they'd just end up on the floor. Alas.]
Maybe one of these weapons is long enough to like, wrap around it or something though.
[Before they have to resort to throwing stuff.]
no subject
We could try using one of the trip wires?
