Event Log: Assassin

Who: Everyone!
What: The Assassin event
Where: Throughout the city
When: April 15th-23rd
Warnings: Inevitable character death, potential horror and gore and unpleasantness. Please remember to tag for warnings in the header if it things get too bad!

The morning of April 15th in Hadriel is cheerful, with artificial light streaming through your window. Your blankets are warm, jabberjays are shrieking, and you're probably going to experience a murder attempt today.

Maybe it'll be from a stranger, maybe it'll be from a friend, but the bottom line is that everybody is after somebody and nobody is safe (...okay, twelve people are safe, but that's beside the point). Time will only tell when you'll be overcome by that murderous rage and try to kill someone else. The best thing you can probably do at this point is stay calm, keep your head high, and try not to die for the next eight days.

Helpfully, Rage will have restocked her armory for the event, for those of you have yet to arm themselves. Additionally, for a limited time only, the armory will be stocked with bear traps, tripwire (in both 'general wire' and 'barbed wire' flavor), and voice recorders. Use all of them, use none of them, just get on out there and kill each other!

Oh, and one last thing...

[ Yeah, probably best if he doesn't waste his breath when they were just going to fall on deaf ears. But woah hey that's the shield coming right into him there. He staggers a bit with Henry's full force behind the blow, but he's quick to recover. This time, though, he's making it a point to go right for his shield arm. That thing was going to becoming annoying rather quickly. ]

[A missed chance to strike a blow sometimes happens, but it is not a failure that Henry lingers on.

Kanda's attack forces him back on the defensive but meets with no other success. Henry's heater shield is strapped to his forearm in addition to the handle he grasps, effectively making it an extension of his arm, and Henry's technique is exquisite --his shield stands between Kanda's swords and their intended target.

His shield arm is also notably protected by full plate worn over a layer of mail.

Henry blocks Kanda's blows, then counter attacks with a sword cut aimed at Kanda's thigh while Kanda is committed high. Cloth is no defence against steel; it makes every body part a viable target.]

[ That was the unfortunate thing for Kanda. He was committed high, focused entirely on nothing but killing Henry, letting his unnatural rage drive him. He wasn't thinking; he wasn't fighting smartly at all. He was just in the mode to go, go, go! with no pause.

There was little he could do about a shield, beyond try to get it out of Henry's hands. Or cut off the hand, that was always an option. But first and foremost, it was that annoying blade of his that had to go. Kanda's taking a step back, shifting his weight quickly though the sword will still easily cut his thigh. He wasn't heavily defended like Henry was — all he had was the uniform he wore, and after a month savaging and just surviving... Well, it's seen better days. Blood wasn't going to hurt it.

If there's any pain in his leg, Kanda doesn't acknowledge it. Instead, as a smirk graces his lips at their close range, he's sending a horde of crystallized insects right at the other's face before moving to strike, following right behind them. ]
