The morning of April 15th in Hadriel is cheerful, with artificial light streaming through your window. Your blankets are warm, jabberjays are shrieking, and you're probably going to experience a murder attempt today.
Maybe it'll be from a stranger, maybe it'll be from a friend, but the bottom line is that everybody is after somebody and nobody is safe (...okay, twelve people are safe, but that's beside the point). Time will only tell when you'll be overcome by that murderous rage and try to kill someone else. The best thing you can probably do at this point is stay calm, keep your head high, and try not to die for the next eight days.
Helpfully, Rage will have restocked her armory for the event, for those of you have yet to arm themselves. Additionally, for a limited time only, the armory will be stocked with bear traps, tripwire (in both 'general wire' and 'barbed wire' flavor), and voice recorders. Use all of them, use none of them, just get on out there and kill each other!
Oh, and one last thing...► This log covers April 15th-23rd.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► Did your assassin catch up to you? Please remember to hit up our death post!

I give, I give! You're pretty, oh my god, you live up to pop culture standards of beauty!
[And then all the air, and a little bit of the dignity, goes out of him when he's kneed, and Rhys doubles over as much as he can with a groan, still focusing on getting away, but also trying to just brace himself a little.
Ow.]

Shit! [He buys himself a second or two of a head start before she starts after him.] You're gonna pay for that, you shitheel!

[He screams it over his shoulder even as he runs with his long, spindly legs. Rhys doesn't know where to go so he tries to head for home, stumbling over a few rocks in the street as he books his way past abandoned buildings and other rubble.
This is officially the worst.]

[Maybe she should've gone for the ghost from The Grudge.
Nah. Kuchisake Onna is was easier to pull off.
But rather than the pair of scissors the legend ascribes to the vengeful spirit's inventory, Emily has a dagger -- smaller than the kitchen knife Maketh took from her (what a fucking goody-goody, holy shit), but functional -- which she pulls out from the leather pouch it came in (THANK YOU, RAGE!!!).
Rhys is pretty fast for a skinny little nerd, but Emily manages to keep pace, helped along by how he's too much of a fucking moron to look out for them in advance like she is. Because goddamn, nothing can be worse than running for your life from a fucking wendigo.
It's when he stumbles yet again that she's able to reach him, swinging the dagger out at him and catching, at best, the fabric of his shirt.]

It's a brightness that stings across his side before he realizes that she actually slashed at him, and he's- oh, ew, he's bleeding and everything is awful.
Rhys kicks at her from where he's sitting, trying to force her as far back as possible so he can scramble upward and run off again, hampered a little now, by his bleeding side.]
I'm so- sorry- for wanting to give you guys a freaking hobby!

Goddamnit!
[What the FUCK is it with her and falling!?
She doesn't bother throwing a snappy comeback at him. It's better to catch her breath, get back on her feet, and following. He'll have a good lead on her by now, but as long as she can spot him, she'll chase him. This blind anger is fueling her the way her fear did in the mines, pumping adrenaline through her so she could do the impossible and get the fuck through it all.]

[At least she lost the dagger- though Rhys can't actually tell if she picked it up or not, he's too busy booking it for the nearest house. It doesn't look lived-in yet, so it's kind of run down, but at least it's some kind of cover from crazy demon lady.
Why, he wonders, did he not take the distress button to heart?
Rhys manages to get inside and slams the door behind him, immediately going to lift an endtable and shoving it at the door. Should he prop it under the knob like on tv? Probably. After a few moments of fighting, Rhys gets it under the knob, before he turns to maybe find a weapon or something he can use to defend himself with, before Emily can get in.]

Goddamnit. You fucking coward, come back out here!
[Pretty much immediately, she begins to walk around the house, in search of another door to barge in through. She's pretty quiet, but Rhys is such a scrawny piece of shit that in the meantime, he could probably escape through a window or something without her seeing where he's gone off to.]

Probably looking for another way in- or just hiding out there and waiting for him to drop his guard so she can cut him up, so, neither the back door or the front door are safe Fuck. He squeezes his eyes shut for a moment, trying to think, before creeping to the kitchen.
It takes a bit of work to get the window open, but he manages after a few frantic moments, before crawling up on the counter and peeking out of it. Rhys swallows hard then and steels himself before jumping out the window, rolling when he hits the dirt. Ow. Ow. No time to wince and be winded, he's got to get out- and so he stands fully again and starts to run down to the next house and the one after that, as quickly as he can while still being somewhat quiet.]
