As you wake up on the sand of the colosseum, gazing up at cloudy gray skies, you might wonder what you're doing here. Where are you? How did you get here? You'll figure it all out soon enough, so try to clamp down on that rising panic, or you just might end up in a dangerous situation.
Because, of course, you're not the only thing that arrived. The Door has also chosen to pull in some rust monsters. These monsters may look a bit like insects, but they're much larger, with a rather vicious bite. You can fight them, but be careful - anything metal that touches them instantly begins to corrode. Your sword, a bullet from your gun, even your robot friend. Might want to keep a little distance.
And that's not all. Scattered across the ground of the colosseum can be found a variety of unique and delightful musical instruments. If you're the musical sort, maybe you can figure out how to play one - or maybe you already know. Hopefully no rust monster has wandered too close to the one you want to try, or you might find that it's missing important metal bits.
Once you've found a way to express the song in your heart, feel free to leave whatever bit of safety you've found. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers August 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

She's out on her own for the evening, cruising for conversation, free drinks, and a few folks to drag to the dance floor. And unfortunately for Sanji, it looks like he's the first one to land in the elf's sights.
She flashes him a charming, toothy grin, a hand running up to give her shorter hair an artful ruffle, both of her long ears perked upwards in interest.]
Well, I was comin' over here to see if you wanted to dance, my dude, but if you'd rather we drink, I'm down for that too.
no subject
He lights up the bar with a matching smile.]
Dance here, dance right here! [He manages in an airy sing-song.] Who needs alcohol with such an intoxicating body in front of me? I can already feel myself melting to your music!
no subject
Sounds like you're easy to please. [And Lup takes a step back from him then, beckoning the man forward with a curl of her finger, attempting to lure him right out onto the dance floor.]
Lucky for you, so am I.
no subject
[A light chuckle bubbles from his lips as his legs glide toward her on impulse, an age-old habit fueled by lust. It's impossible. He just can't say no to such an enthusiastic lady. He doesn't want to.]
There's no way I could compare. You're allowed to laugh at my pathetic attempt to keep up as much as you like, just don't cry!
no subject
[So she says. But the elf just keeps grinning, happy to watch the younger man trailing after her. Just a few steps closer Sanji...]
Ready to sweep me off of my feet?
no subject
If only I had a rose to offer you. Alas, all I have to give is me! But if you'll have me...
[His one visible brow wiggles suggestively.]
no subject
One dance. You gotta keep my interest up if you want more than that.
no subject
Well then. I'll just have to cater to everything in one go! [He hums dramatically.] Do you want something fast or slow?
no subject
Do I really look like a girl who takes anything slow?
no subject
no subject
Teach this elf all about your fancy swing. She's used to memeing it up usually.]
Sweep me away, handsome.
[Sanji has approximately three minutes to keep her interest up or Lup is taking command of this dance.]
no subject
It's amazing how much of a pick-me-up one girl's eager grin can be.]
no subject
To be perfectly honest, Sanji is so not her type. Lup's type is dad bod, too much denim, a real Home Depot kind of guy. Which is why she married one. She's into nerds, the easily flustered type, that she can playfully steal their glasses and make them blush in the same move.
Sanji really isn't any of those things. But fuck, he's fun.
The elf throws back her head and laughs loudly with each dip, each eyebrow waggle, every little spin they do. She's not used to anyone managing to stay at her speed, but he actually goes beyond that and keeps the woman on her toes, keeping her laughing the whole time. Her hair is swept all wrong and the very tips of her long ears are flushed pink by the time their first song winds down, but Lup is grinning wide, still giggling.]
Fuck me, now I think I'm obligated in buying you a drink for all of that.
no subject
He cackles, bright and earnest.]
I could never accept such a grand gesture, not when you’ve already graced me with the gift of a dance! But… if you were to make a drink for me, I would be beside myself with pure happiness. I could make one for you in return~
no subject
For real?
[Lup can't decide if the offer is weirdly charming or just weird. Over two hundred years old and no one's ever thrown her that particular proposition before. Though to be honest, it sounds kinda fun.]
Alright, thug, I can play that game. We're doing this in secret, right? You don't get to know what I'm mixin' together until you chug it down?
no subject
I won't sneak a single peek! Besides, I already know I'll love it, just because you mixed it with me in mind!
no subject
But Lup is mostly trustworthy, as long as she finds the value or humor enough in something, so she finally grabs for his shirt, just so she can give him a playful tug towards the bar.]
Prepare your senses to be amazed, stud!
no subject
I'm ready, I'm ready! [He coos as he's happily dragged to the alcohol.] My world will never be the same again!
no subject
Keep your pants on! Gimme two shakes and I'll have this ready.
[And boy, what a concoction she's making. This is a game Lup's played before, clearly, though on her end, it's never been played to be anything but cruel. Have fun with some peppermint schnapps, cinnamon schnapps and coconut rum all mixed up nice together.
Lup hops up onto a stool when she's done and slides the drink his way.]
no subject
Ah! It smells [A little overwhelming.] positively adventurous!
Now it's my turn! Don't peek!
[Before he even finishes, he flits off to lavish her with vodka, peach schnapps, and a vibrant pink fruit juice. He spins and sets the glass before her with his usual flourish.]
For my dancing diva! On three?
no subject
Fine. Just don't take too long. [And just as he did, she turns and gives the man the space he needs to craft his little surprise drink. Sure, taking any drink from a stranger is real bad news, but Lup has a special relationship with death, so she really isn't too worried.
Also she can light things on fire with her mind so like, yeah. She's good.]
On three. [She agrees, taking the glass he offers her, lip already curling into a grin. Oh, hers smells great.] One, two -
no subject
[Far from cowardly, he's reckless enough to pound her concoction with a terrifyingly exuberant lack of self preservation. His senses aren't so much amazed as annihilated when several overpowering flavors take up arms all the way down his throat.]
-Heeeow!
[He slams the glass down on the bar, shuts his eyes tight, breathes through his nose, and asks himself why.]
no subject
Lup, of course, takes a sip of her drink and enjoys it, mouth stretching into a wide, toothy grin at the colorful flavor, just sharp enough to bite in the way that she loves. But then comes poor Sanji's reaction and she can't help but laugh, hard enough that she slaps a hand down onto the countertop, a few stray tears in her eyes.]
Holy fuck, you actually did it. I thought for sure you'd get a whiff and bow out. Color me impressed, my guy.
no subject
[Pound goes his fist on the counter.]
I could never let it go to waste!
[Pound. Pound. Pound.]
If I go blind, I'll cry!
no subject
The elf slips in close then, fingers dropping down to rest at Sanji's arm, her head tipping in close so there's no way he could miss her smile.]
If you're gonna go blind, may as well let your last sight be dancin' with me. C'mon, handsome.
