As you wake up on the sand of the colosseum, gazing up at cloudy gray skies, you might wonder what you're doing here. Where are you? How did you get here? You'll figure it all out soon enough, so try to clamp down on that rising panic, or you just might end up in a dangerous situation.
Because, of course, you're not the only thing that arrived. The Door has also chosen to pull in some rust monsters. These monsters may look a bit like insects, but they're much larger, with a rather vicious bite. You can fight them, but be careful - anything metal that touches them instantly begins to corrode. Your sword, a bullet from your gun, even your robot friend. Might want to keep a little distance.
And that's not all. Scattered across the ground of the colosseum can be found a variety of unique and delightful musical instruments. If you're the musical sort, maybe you can figure out how to play one - or maybe you already know. Hopefully no rust monster has wandered too close to the one you want to try, or you might find that it's missing important metal bits.
Once you've found a way to express the song in your heart, feel free to leave whatever bit of safety you've found. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers August 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[ No. Probably not. ]

[Which almost certainly does not answer the question he intended to ask, but that would be helpful of her and she prefers not helping these people. It makes them feel good and that's not ideal.
She steps away from the doorway with its apparent invisible barrier, eyes him up and down.]
Although if it's food or shelter you're after, there is some here. It's just not in great abundance. If you find it, take it. Hide it away, barricade your door. It's all in short supply and you'll likely have to fight to keep whatever it is you need. I hope you're good at throwing rocks.
[She says it entirely with a straight face, as if this is the real desperation of the situation they're in. Messing with the newcomers is one of her few moments of entertainment.]

[ He hopes that comes out sounding appropriately worried for the situation. Even though he knows better, he might as well try for it. ]
I hadn't even realized...no time like the present to practice my aim, right?

[A smirk crosses her face, there. She'll leave him to guess at which some of them might be - although it would be quite funny if among his guesses were some of the most peaceful individuals. Alphys, or that tiefling. The ones who look the least humanlike among them, the most monstrous. Certainly doesn't mind that she's clearly marked herself among the ones who aren't human, with her own wording.]

[ Has anything ever, though? No. ]
I don't think I'd make for much of a meal, though.

Ah, well, I certainly won't judge what people's preferences are. There doesn't need to be much meat; maybe some of them would rather suck the marrow out of bones, you know? And it's not all people, either, there are certainly wild creatures that won't mind a taste. You must have seen the ones when you arrived - those bugs that rust metal. There are plenty of others around too. I wouldn't set foot in the water. Or the forest.

Eat or be eaten suddenly sounds less appealing when you're at the bottom of the food chain. You don't seem bothered, though.

[A little intimidation is always fun. And as far as she's concerned, this part isn't even a lie.]

[ Maybe flattery works for her. ]

[Flattery is appreciated, though in this case she was already plenty smug and his reply affirms her own position. Still, it's probably better than trying to tell her she's somehow inferior to him.]

It's Vincent.
[ Oh, right, gotta not seem suspicious. ]
Can I ask yours as well?
no subject
[She says it willingly enough. The thought crosses her mind to answer the question instead with a snarky "yes you can" instead, but it's a boring bit of sarcasm and so she decides against it.
She shoos him off with a wave of her hand, though.]
Go on. You better get settled before it gets dark and people get desperate.
[Maybe she'll frighten him a fair bit tonight just to make it seem real. Minor illusion a few spooky shapes, and then throw a fireball at his house if he goes to investigate. Overkill, but hilarious.]

[ Yeah, she's the dangerous one. ]
I appreciate the advice.
