Intro Log: Please Remove Metal From Luggage

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for August
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: August 10th-13th
Warnings: New folks, metal falling apart, fun stuff

As you wake up on the sand of the colosseum, gazing up at cloudy gray skies, you might wonder what you're doing here. Where are you? How did you get here? You'll figure it all out soon enough, so try to clamp down on that rising panic, or you just might end up in a dangerous situation.

Because, of course, you're not the only thing that arrived. The Door has also chosen to pull in some rust monsters. These monsters may look a bit like insects, but they're much larger, with a rather vicious bite. You can fight them, but be careful - anything metal that touches them instantly begins to corrode. Your sword, a bullet from your gun, even your robot friend. Might want to keep a little distance.

And that's not all. Scattered across the ground of the colosseum can be found a variety of unique and delightful musical instruments. If you're the musical sort, maybe you can figure out how to play one - or maybe you already know. Hopefully no rust monster has wandered too close to the one you want to try, or you might find that it's missing important metal bits.

Once you've found a way to express the song in your heart, feel free to leave whatever bit of safety you've found. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Am aware what Crème de Mûres is...

[Then he demonstrates, but Rey still can't help but hold her suspicion at first. She did just watch him make the damned drink with her own eyes, and she would have known if he had slipped in anything extra other than what he put in himself.

[Oh well. Her fingers furl over the glass, deciding that if he starts acting surprised that she doesn't topple over in ragdoll physics at some point in the night, she'll be sober enough to kick his ass out. For now...

[Eh, bottoms up.]

Nn. Guess it's all right. [She mutters through taking another cautious sip of the drink. It's not like drinking a straight shot, and not sweet or anything, despite the fruity hint. But she is remiss to compliment him just yet.]

[He grins happily, soaking in the not-really-a-compliment anyway.]

I know a couple of heavy drinkers myself. That particular cocktail was a huge hit with one of them. Heh. [He allows himself a self-indulgent snicker as he lifts his own drink for another sip.] That other bastard wouldn't know a red wine from a white one though, so I wouldn't trust his taste even if he did try to tell me he liked it.

[Surprisingly, she drops the crabby façade, her lips pulling into a slight smile.]

Never did have a very refined taste in things, sorry to say. Just about anything would do -- including this. No offense.

[She says it in a rather good-natured way, so it really isn't an insult.]

Being able to enjoy any taste isn't a fault! It's a talent! [Sanji beams, not missing a beat.] It's only wasteful when you don't bother to appreciate it.

[She barks an unladylike laugh.]

Oh, that isn't a problem with me. Can appreciate just about anything.

[Sanji laughs right along with her, raising his glass in good cheer.]

And I can appreciate that! A true gourmand!

[Pfft.]

Wouldn't really go so far as to claim the title of "gourmand" so much as... am not a very picky eater. [Heh.]

[And indeed, he seems a little over happy at such a simple prospect. The thought that she’d appreciate literally anything he could whip up for her is like Sanji’s Christmas.]
