Intro Log: Please Remove Metal From Luggage

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for August
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: August 10th-13th
Warnings: New folks, metal falling apart, fun stuff

As you wake up on the sand of the colosseum, gazing up at cloudy gray skies, you might wonder what you're doing here. Where are you? How did you get here? You'll figure it all out soon enough, so try to clamp down on that rising panic, or you just might end up in a dangerous situation.

Because, of course, you're not the only thing that arrived. The Door has also chosen to pull in some rust monsters. These monsters may look a bit like insects, but they're much larger, with a rather vicious bite. You can fight them, but be careful - anything metal that touches them instantly begins to corrode. Your sword, a bullet from your gun, even your robot friend. Might want to keep a little distance.

And that's not all. Scattered across the ground of the colosseum can be found a variety of unique and delightful musical instruments. If you're the musical sort, maybe you can figure out how to play one - or maybe you already know. Hopefully no rust monster has wandered too close to the one you want to try, or you might find that it's missing important metal bits.

Once you've found a way to express the song in your heart, feel free to leave whatever bit of safety you've found. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Okay, maybe a little dorky. But I stand by sweet.

Sweet, okay. Sure. Sweet until I find a butt that needs kicking, how about that?

That sounds fine. Besides, the same can be said about me.

Thank you for saying so. I'm sure I can round up a dozen or two criminals who can confirm that it's accurate.

I'm pretty sure everyone that I've ever gotten arrested would just call me annoying, but really that's just part of my "charm".

[He says, complete with air quotes. He goes out of his way to annoy the piss out of everyone he fights tbh]

[she laughs heartily at that]

While I got a plaque from my friends in the Legion reading "She's Beauty, She's Grace, She'll Punch You in the Face." [she shrugs] I can't argue with that.

Short, sweet, and to the point. And probably still way more charm than I'm putting out.

[unphase]

[she teases]

I don't know, I'd say that you have your own kind of charm. And you got a Homecoming date. [a pause] Okay, everything sort of went downhill from there, but it's not like you could've known that.

[itsnotaonesie]

You know what, I'll call the fact that I was able to get a date in the first place a victory. I kinda blew it immediately, but I think I have a good excuse.

[unphase]

You should! And you do. It's not like you could've known her father was an arms dealer.

[itsnotaonesie]

Such is life, I guess. I feel like there's a lesson in there somewhere, like "don't bother trying to date if you're a superhero" or something.

[unphase]

[she nods and adds] "And if you do date, date another superhero."

[itsnotaonesie]

Finding one my age is probably going to be like, impossible. So I guess I should just accept being single for the rest of my life.

[unphase]

Too bad we're not in my world, there are a couple of girls I could introduce to you that I think you'd like.

[itsnotaonesie]

Your world does seem to hold the monopoly on superheroes, doesn't it. Ah well, it is what it is, I guess.

[unphase]

There's a whole Legion of them. And maybe you'll be lucky and meet someone here?

[itsnotaonesie]

I- maybe? I guess? Like honestly I'm not really looking right now, but who knows, right? Maybe someone will program some kinda dating app for the network or whatever. Not that I'd use it, but hey.

[unphase]

There's plenty of time to look. Though, how many people here are around our age?

[itsnotaonesie]

Uh. Some? I dunno, I haven't exactly gone door to door surveying people about their ages yet. Totally on my to-do list, though.

[unphase]

[she laughs] And now you're humoring me. That's okay, I can take it.

[itsnotaonesie]

Maybe I am a little bit. But yeah, I'm not really sure how many people here are around our age.

[unphase]

There have to be some. We can't be the only teenagers around. At least I hope not.
