Bon voyage
Who: Three ships a-sailing! (from here Law's crew of 8, Curufin's boat, and Floki's boat)
What: hunting for Door fragments and having adventures
Where: wherever the wind takes us, baby
When: August 14-September 19, a little over 4 weeks at sea
Warnings: unknown besides violence, sass-mouths, and general assholery. Will update as needed.
The first round of texts alerted everyone involved that the ship was finished. Law's plans dictated something alike to a brig sloop, only the final product came out a bit smaller thanks to limited resources. Twenty-five meters long and 6 meters at the beam, two masts, square-rigged, with a half-cabin in front to serve as forecastle and a larger cabin aft to store Kaiba's technology and provide shelter for the galley. Spoilers, he's named it the Corazon. Law's only order at that time was to prepare: pack a single bag and nothing more, make arrangements with your pals staying back, and show up to help load supplies at XX:00. The second text came on the 13th, dictating that only god-provided supplies the captain wanted were a map, a compass, and the boxes from Tranquility. Nothing else was worth his time, or his attention. The morning of the 14th, they're off!
The alliance of three ships includes Curufin's elvish longboat and Floki's Viking ship, so that anyone not capable of getting along could still be along for the trip while safely sequestered out of each other's way. Along the way they will stop off on any island with vegetation and animal life signs, to resupply both food and water, and anyone up for fishing is welcome to have at it. When it comes time to go diving for the fragment they've discovered, difficulty and adventures await.
Your captain has only two rules: your crewmates are your life so no killing each other, and if he gives you an actual order you obey it. Aside from that, there are no orders, just a mild suggestion that you not piss off the captain. He won't care if you piss each other off so long as we can all pitch in together to rig the sails, raise anchor, and get those fragments. Everything else, enjoy yourselves.
On September 5th, an anomalous reading at coordinates uncovers Null Sentries which attack the ship.
On September 7, through the 15th, there is a massive storm after which the ship will limp to one of the small islands just a few days away from the city, so they can make repairs and resupply for the last leg home.
[ooc: make your own toplevels! make multiple toplevels! prompts by day, by phase of the journey (embarking, hunting, searching for the fragment, returning), new prompts whenever you get a new idea, whatever. We're pirates, there are no rules. Jump between the three ships, meet up on an island where we've stopped, come get fed by Sanji because he's the best...

[But sure, she'll ask Sanji. She has a feeling he'll answer any question she puts to him. She can already see that could be a real challenge with him in some situations - the false gods, for example. The ones who use female humanoid avatars. Will he be able to stand up to them should she ask him to, or will he cave to their demands?]

[not a problem since he hasn't even seen tins of umeboshi or anything recognizable from home in the shops. All sarcasm aside, though.]
I have a feeling the one annoying thing about him is going to appeal to you so I won't even bother. Handle him as you see fit. Just remember that while we're out here, I'm the captain and all of my crew are in my hand. [in other words] Don't kill him.

[To which she only sounds mildly annoyed right now, and she leans against him with an amused sigh. She's not even going to ask what umeboshi are.
If it came down to an order from her or an order from Law, both conflicting, which would Sanji follow? Now there's a question. One she doesn't really want to test, but it's an interesting thought.]
I want us to succeed. That's why I'm doing this. If that's your only concern with Sanji then I'm sure I'll have no problems with him. In fact, it's nice having someone around to wait on me hand and foot.

I'm sure it bears repeating to the others as well. Black Leg-ya and I are the only ones with real experience as pirates, so we can't expect the rest of them to understand just how serious we are about crewmates.
[not to knock Alucard but Law is already certain that his world's view of crew is not even quite the same as theirs. His lecture before they embarked, he hopes, didn't fall on deaf ears]
...if all he does is wait on you then I suppose it could be a lot worse.

As for Sanji, that's all he's done so far. Well, and call me all sorts of absurd nicknames, but he's very obedient, really. He sets a good example for the rest. I'm glad he's here. I wonder if he cares for poetry?
[She grins at her own humor. Law worries too much, but she knows that's what it takes to manage an unruly group like this. It's nothing compared to what she's used to dealing with at home, in tolerating Amamot's deep paranoia and crushing brutality - but that's a ruler of millions for you, rather than this tiny little boat.]

Something tells me he'd eat it up. [no pun intended because why would he pun that's awful]

I remember... a few weeks ago, or perhaps months now? Whenever it was, when we first got here. You said you felt big fish out here off shore. What do you feel now, that there's no land in sight anymore?
no subject
Ah...yeah, there's some good-sized creatures out here. All around us. I don't know if they're fish, whales, sharks, or what, but. It's there. [glancing at her with a twitch of his eyebrow] You might have a fun time swimming down to where the fragments are.
no subject
Fun, hm? Maybe I'll bring back dinner and a fragment. I'm not too worried - I can't say I've done much fighting under water, but I have plenty of non-fire skills. I just have to get down there in one piece, and then once I have my hands on it I can teleport back with it. Actually, I should set up a targeting circle on the deck here to make that easier.

[it all sounds good to him. Caedra can handle it fine, it'll be great]

I'd rather wait until we're a couple hours out, though. The ink might wash off if we get caught up in a storm, or people walking over it might disturb it too much, and I don't have enough with me to keep re-drawing it. Maybe what I'll do though is create a smaller version on paper for now so it doesn't take long when it's time.
[She gives him a squeeze and then lets go entirely.]
Let me know if you need a hand with the sails, though.
