If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.
That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.
Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.
Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!
Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Hence, more squirming. ] What??! But-- we're-- [ Huff, puff, wheeze. ] We're, w-we're a bazillion miles in the air?! How did we even get-- [ She'll do her best to crane her neck to look up at the woman. ]
---What kinda bacteria are you?! [ In her world, only bacteria are capable of flight... ]
no subject
no seriously, stop squirming] We're barely seven meters and I can drop you off anywhere you like. Just name the place.
[a funny look] I'm not a bacteria, I'm a fifteen year old Bgztlian.
no subject
But. But. Although she is kicking, her arms have by now reached up and grabbed hold of Tinya's arms in return as if to support herself better. She doesn't want to be this high up in the air, no. But she also doesn't want to be dropped. ] A-and fifteen years old?! [ That's, like. Also ~a bagillion~ times her own age! ]
But how?!
no subject
[okay, now she seems to be cooperating a bit. that's good. now for where to drop her off? and she gives her a funny look] Yes, I'm fifteen. It's not that old.
[and there's the big question] You're in a place called Hadriel. There are powerful aliens calling themselves gods who brought you here through something called the Door. The goal of these aliens is to provoke emotions in you that they can feed off of. And no, nobody knows how to get out, but sometimes people do.
no subject
What.
Again: ]
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!
But how did I, what was I, why-- this doesn't make sense, Hadriel?! And aliens-- what is an alien-- what are you-- are you one of those aliens?! A Bagezzetl?! [ Which is how she's going to pronounce it. ] Oh-- I was just trying to find my way to the lungs, I don't remember going through some door!
[ But at least in her newfound defeat, she's not fighting or flailing as much. That's a good thing, right? ]
no subject
You're right, it doesn't make any sense. No one knows why we were picked to come here, we just know that it has something to do with the Door and that the aliens need emotions to survive. And it's pronounced Bg-zuh-tul and yes, I am an alien. What do you mean, you were trying to find your way to the lungs?
[a very good thing. Tinya's heading them towards the Clinic because this girl could likely use someplace to rest and recuperate]
no subject
Where are they?! I could have sworn I was walking up the inferior vena cava!
no subject
No, you were taken from there and now you're in Hadriel. Which is a town.
no subject
[ Oh.
Oh no. ]
My-- my delivery! I must have left my cart back at that place with those monsters, we have to go back and get them! [ No, they actually do not have to go back and get them. But she's one track minded, here. ]
no subject
[she continues to fly the girl toward the Clinic. maybe they'll have better luck explaining the situation to her?]
--what? Why didn't you say something earlier? [buuuut, she starts to head back to the Colosseum anyway]
no subject
If I don't exchange it in the lungs, it'll disassociate become an acid! [ CO2 + H20 = H2CO3. We're learning about the body, ladies and gents! Except one, it dissociates in the bloodstream which they are not currently in. And two, she's just panicking. ]
no subject
Why do you keep saying things about the lungs? We're nowhere near lungs except for our own. [she's noticing the panic and hopes that retrieving this box of whatever it is will help her calm a little]
no subject
Because I-- [ They're getting closer to the colosseum, she can see it in sight. ] --am-- [ And there she spots it, the package still atop her little cart! It's truly inconspicuous, just an ordinary cardboard box that's labeled CO2 on it. ] ---a red blood cell!
[ And once she's dropped to the ground, she'll be rushing to snatch up the box, clinging onto it as if for dear life. ] And my primary job is gas exchange! [ Maybe she shouldn't be shouting because, ya know, ogres. But oh well. ]
no subject
but she doesn't drop her until the box is in sight and as soon as she has it, Tinya grabs her back up again before any of the sprocking ogres can make it to their position. it's close, though, and she needs to phase her legs to keep an ogre from grabbing them]
You're a what?
no subject
That's my job, that's what I do, that's what I am! [ Whoa, fingers slipping on the package! Just gotta... hold it... a little tighter... there! Secured. ] ...But I'm a red blood cell that is lost and I don't know how to get back to the body!
no subject
[how does she even begin to explain the situation to someone who believes that they're a red blood cell. she's silent as they fly as she tries to figure it out] All right. Uh. The problem is, you're not going back to the body. At least not for a while.
no subject
And then she looks at with all the color drained from her face: ]
............Am I going to die?
no subject
until she sees that look. uh-oh. that's not a good look]
...what? No! Of course you're not, you're going to be fine.
no subject
[ How is she even alive? Or maybe she isn't. Maybe she's a ghost. ]
...Although I'm grateful I'm not. [ She takes a breath at last, attempting to calm herself. ] So maybe there is something good about being here.
no subject
[Hadriel magic at work. it can bring back the dead]
[encouragingly] I'm glad you're not, too. And this place can be a little strange, but it has its bright spots.
