If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.
That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.
Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.
Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!
Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[ And she'll tear open the package in a dramatic flair, ripping the top off with a wide swoop of her arm. She half expects the contents to begin glowing and light up her face with rainbows, but--..... nope. It doesn't.
But that doesn't diminish the look of amazement on her face. ] Ooh-- it said taste the rainbow, and all the pieces are the colors of a rainbow, ohhhwowww I get it, this is amazing.... [ She selects one red piece. ] And now, I will see what the color "red" tastes like.

[She's like a kid in a candy store, minus the kid part and the glory that would be a real sweets shop. So she's a young cell in a store with candy, and that's good enough.
Tyki leans in, looking over how magically artificial the colors look. Although he'll pass on rock candy, confections this colorful just weren't common back home. So he actually really is curious as to what they taste like.] I want all the details. What does red taste like? [Strawberry? Cherry? Tomato? Tyki can't imagine a tomato candy, but then again he couldn't imagine multiple worlds before today.]

It tastes... tarty. [ She concludes. ] Wait, hold on. This warrants another try.
[ And she'll do the same thing again, after which she nods. ] Hm... both tart and sweet. I can't say I've had anything like it before. [ And now she's putting a whole handful into her mouth. ] When do I start tasting the rainbow?

[Ah, a bit sour then.] Maybe add more in. Perhaps it takes a large amount to get the full rainbow experience. [He really is a terrible person.] Otherwise you just get muddled colors.
[He grabs a pack for himself in the meantime, fingers delicately freeing the confection from their packaging. One goes into his mouth, and he grimaces a bit. Very colorful and chemical to him, interesting and awful. He's not a fan of the rainbow, it seems.]

[ This is for science.
AE-3803 pours a pile into her hand and gobbles the entire mountain of skittles down.
She chews. She thinks. And then she chews some more. It's going to take a little bit before she processes the entire meal, but the time she's done she has the widest smile upon her face. ] That was....
It's a miracle.
[ She brings her hands up to her chest, clasping them together. ] I really do taste the rainbow...! [ That, or she's getting a sugar rush. ] A sweet, delectable, fruity rianbow.
[ Sudden! A package! At you! ] You have to try it.

It's miraculous? [A miraculous chemically artificial mess. Still, despite that, and despite the fact that the candy he tried moments ago was nearly repulsive, he lives for new experiences.] It can't hurt to try another. [He takes the package into his hands, pulling at the edges until the colorful contents are exposed. His fingers find a single sweet, and he takes it up to his mouth.
This time, it's a yellow one.
Maybe this one he'll love.
And within a second of chewing, he's rather certain that these candies just aren't for him.] More for you, lass. Have at. [He hands the rest of the package back. He's glad he's had the experience, but it's just not his thing.]
