If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.
That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.
Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.
Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!
Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
f, so spire 4 #401 LMAO
Of course there would be a massive crash in the kitchen as soon as he put on his sweatpants. Of course.
It's gotta be Hayden, he thinks, heading out from his bedroom. Hayden probably borked his teleporting and landed in a cabinet or—oh nope it's a girl who has just crashed in through his... window... somehow?
???]
Are you okay?
[He looks relatively nonplussed by this. Weirder shit has happened. He crosses the room to look out the window. Hm. They sure are four stories up. How the hell...?
More importantly, he doesn't see any monsters. With that confirmed, he turns back to her, kneeling to check her over for injuries.]
Yeah, you must be new here, huh? The monsters come in with new people once a month. The people down at the coliseum will wipe them out in a couple days. I heard it was ogres this time?
[Just gonna make casual conversation while making sure she's not bleeding out or anything.]
:D
---What-- huh? Ogres?! [ She shouts, still very much frazzled and afraid as she pushes herself up. Ogres. Coliseum. Oh, so those things were "ogres"? It takes a moment for her to realize that he's talking of a different sort of monster than the one she had just encountered. ] W--wait, no, no! [ And now she leaps up, holding a sore arm to her side as she goes to stand behind the wall next to the window. Holding her breath, she peeks out of it. ] Not those, there were others in the fog! Uh, I don't know if they can climb because I really hope they can't but--
[ She looks back at him. ] WAIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU SHOULD HIDE, TOO!
[ Shouting probably isn't the best thing to do when trying to hide. Thankfully there are no monsters actually after her as of this moment. But she doesn't know that, because she didn't bother to look back until now. ]

Shit, were you fucking around in that creepy foggy area down on the south island? Don't go in there. There's—well, you know.
[Admittedly, the Silent Hill area is one of his favorite haunts in town. He rarely goes inside, but he likes to hang out nearby. It's calming for him.
Clearly this girl did not have the same experience.]
Look, whatever came after you didn't follow you out. Nothing ever does down there. You're safe here, so let me see your arm. I can heal it.
[He waves her over, hoping but doubting that she's familiar with magic so he can skip the explanation and go straight to the arm-fixing. The window is next, and he'd like to get to that sooner rather than later.]

[ As she's looking at him healing her arm, her voice trails off as she watches his magic work. Yep, she's going to shout right now, shocked for an entirely different reason. ] --AND HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?!
[ On the bright side, her arm doesn't hurt as much anymore? ]

I'm a sorcerer. It's magic.
[Yeah, so it's definitely not a thing where she's from. Figures. It's rare that he runs into people who are versed in this shit.]
I could teach you sometime if you're interested. The healing's a bit much when you're starting out, but there's easier shit. Like this.
[It's a smooth transition into a thing he wanted to do anyway, especially with the storm threatening to blow away the whole island outside. He steps around her and grabs one of the large shards of glass off of the floor, his eyes moving between it and the hole in the window as he tries to piece the puzzle together.
Once he's found the spot where it belongs, he slots it into place and runs his finger over the crack. As he does, the glass stitches itself back together, and when he pulls away, it's like that piece had never broken off in the first place.]
The tricky part is that you have to figure out which piece goes where before you can fix it.
[And so it's back to the glass pile. This will take a while, but it's something to do. He's been bored all cooped up because of the storm, anyway.]
