Intro Log: Puddle Jumpers

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Fresh meat, lots of rain and angry ogres

If the rain on your face isn't enough to wake you up in the colosseum, maybe the thundering footsteps and- well, thunder- is. The first thing that you may notice is that it's incredibly wet around here, with winds that could knock you over if you aren't careful and thunder that brings with it a torrent of constant rainfall.

That's all fine though, because the gods saw fit to help you out on your way in and now everyone will be waking up wearing a rain coat! These coats are a little odd, and some of them are downright silly, but we trust that you'll make do. Of course, a few of the raincoats have additional sleeves, neck holes, and entirely too many buttons as well- but hey, it's the best we could do.

Wait, what was that about thundering footsteps? Oh right, as you're navigating your new fashion choices, there are some monsters afoot who will want nothing more than to grind you into a pulp and eat you- well, if you're organic, that is. If you're not organic, then they still want to grind you to a pulp, but maybe not so much the eating part.

Ogres are from many fantasy stories, but these in particular are from the Dragon Age series. With incredible strength and stamina and massive horns, fangs, and a bloodlust for violence, these monsters won't stop until everyone around them is a blood smear on the ground. They're also not too happy about this rainfall either, so be careful not to slip in the puddles as you run away from them!

Once you've splashed around a bit, feel free to run off into the stormy abyss of our islands. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

I bet everything would be a scratch post. I wonder if it would have T.V, though. I'm pretty sure my cat is incapable of living without it.

Yeah, and there would be catnip mice everywhere. And your cat watches TV? I've never heard of a cat watching TV, unless it was some nature program about birds.

Yeah, he likes a lot of action movies.

[Sal probably sounds like a crazy cat owner but he's being completely serious right now.]

He also really loves his baths.

[His cat is an oddity, but that's why he loves him.]

Your cat likes action movies? Seriously? Did you bring him with you?

[she really wants to see this cat, okay?]

Okay, I have never once seen a cat that likes baths.

He takes a lot of time in the bathtub.

[Shower cap and all.]

Man, I wish I brought him here. I already miss him. Then again...I don't know, at least I know he's safe at home.

[He's still worried about him getting fed enough, though. His dad is almost never home.]

Yeah, it's kind of a "six of one, half-dozen of the other" situation. If I had a cat, I'd miss it like hell, but this isn't exactly the safest place to be.

[yes, that would be something for concern. she knows she wouldn't trust her roommate at home to take care of a pet]

Exactly. He's too lazy to run from monsters. I guess he's better off.

[And Sal sure wouldn't be able to carry a cat that's almost as big as him (him being abnormally small really works against him there) around all the time, which he knows he would have to if Gizmo were around. Oh well.

There's a sigh, but it's not an upset one.]

Okay, I should figure out what I'm doing. I think now that I'm not impossibly overwhelmed I can look around without going into a panic. [He laughs as he stands up and throws his raincoat back on.] Thanks a lot for letting me hang out here, George. It helped a load.

[A smile can't be seen but it's heavily implied. Well, he tries to heavily imply it. It's difficult.]

[maybe George will get a kitten and let Sal visit it]
